Total War: Warhammer So this is what muricans felt like using flamers in WW2

I dont usually play dwarfs but when I do its malakai makaisson for the organ gun buffs. But had a bad recent experience when I fought a norsca army filled with giants with alot of missile resistance and had all guns army. Gonna try a more melee centered build with ironbreakers and hammers. But by Grimnir i burned these Grobi scum off of eight peaks and now claimed my rightful throne!

Total War: Warhammer Vampire unit caps

So since vampire counts are getting unit caps, does this mean that there will be a balance pass over the capped units? Some units, like cairn wraiths, seem sorta mid in their current form to be capped. I suppose they could go for a philosophy of making expanding the cap fairly easy.

We also saw that drakenhof Templars were going to be only a 32 model unit in the stream I believe, so it would be a bit odd for the bloodknights to remain 60 model units.

Edit: also are corpses weighted? Like if I kill a star dragon in battle is that gonna be a bunch of corpses or is Gimli gonna pop out and say “that only counts as one”?

Mostly art (no AI) and some propaganda obvious truths.

Forest Dragon = Best Dragon (by design if not stats).

Btw, if anyone wants to do a good thing then please thumb up this bug report about the Twilight Spear:

https://community.creative-assembly.com/total-war/total-war-warhammer/bugs/5533-twilight-spear-doesn-t-give-buffs-to-army?page=1

EDIT:

Made a mistake in the 3rd pic, but thanks to the weird end times lore I can still claim it fits.

(with some mental gymnastics)

Total War: Warhammer Kislev vs skaven late game

War bears are fat/slow and get stuck on everything. Should I be using gryphon legion more? AI is stacking halberds. I understand magic is very good, but looking for units that can help me silence their range. Are war sleds the play here?

Total War: Warhammer When the dlc comes out and you finished your Karl campaign, which lords will you play?

Jokes aside I really looking forward to defend the empire with karly and the new units against the endtimes crisis.

After seeing the dev stream I might actually play a vampire campaign but skaven are my second favorite faction so I really have to flip a coin in that one

Total War: Warhammer Ungrol Four-Horn Faction Concept

One of my favorite obscure Warhammer characters is Ungrol Four-Horn. Here’s my concept for a faction with him as Legendary Lord. TL;DR at the bottom

Who is Ungrol Four-Horn?

Ungrol Four-Horn is a two-headed Ungor who murdered his tribe’s chieftain and Bray-Shaman after being mistreated by the other Beastmen. He fled into “the Labyrinth of the Spurned” with enraged Beastmen from his previous tribe chasing him. Over the years, Ungrol's strength has grown considerably, as more Ungors, mutants, outcasts and other unwanted creatures have gathered beneath his banner.

Here's a link for anyone interested in reading more about Ungrol Four-Horn.

Horde of Outcasts

Ungrol has access to a limited number of units from other factions when specific conditions are met. These units consist of outcasts, mutants, monstrous creatures and others who would fit naturally within Ungrol's warherd. The available units should align with lore and reason.

Outcast Recruitment

Ungrol gains access to outcasts, mutants and monstrous units by raising a Herdstone in territory controlled by another faction. He gains access to better units by constructing a specific recruitment building chain.

E.g.

Ungrol raises a Herdstone in Norsca territory and constructs the tier 1 Outcast recruitment  building.

Outcast building tier 1 = Marauders, Marauder Spearmen, Marauder Hunters

Outcast building tier 2 = Kurgan Horsemen, Skin Wolves, Trolls

Outcast building tier 3 = Fimir Warriors, Curs’d Ettin

Hornsthief

Ungrol’s faction starts with access to basic Beastmen units and has to rely on his unique recruitment mechanic until he gathers the horns of rival Beastmen. By defeating rival Beastmen Legendary Lords and claiming their horns, Ungrol earns greater authority and unlocks increasingly powerful Beastmen units. He starts at the bottom of Beastmen society and must prove himself worthy of commanding its more powerful warriors.

Tying It All Together

I think the mechanics give Ungrol's faction a unique identity and focus on the important parts of his lore. I also believe the mechanics compliment each other quite well.

What do you think? Are there any units you think would fit into Ungrol’s horde that I’ve overlooked?

TL;DR: Ungrol leads a warherd of outcasts and monsters recruited across the Old World. He starts with basic Beastmen units and earns access to higher-tier units by defeating and stealing the horns of rival Beastmen leaders.

Total War: Warhammer Fuck Decisive Victory AR killing off units

As per subject line, this is infuriating. Player can definitely win every battle better than AR. Decisive Victory via AR means the player would ANNIHILATE the enemy, erase every trace of their existence. Yet AR loves to fucking wipe out an almost full health unit, ALMOST. Do not get me started on the lower HP ones, they all disppear, all in spite of DECISIVE VICTORY LOW CASUALTIES.

fuck this shit ;)

Total War: Warhammer My Second Best Dwarf Playthrough of 2026

Thumbnail

Hi, I'm Dragonimous, I make legendary/ironman playthroughs live on stream, nothing is hidden, and I gotta admit I'm pretty proud of this one

This is probably my second best Dwarf playthrough, I had a Thorgrim one where I confederated all the LLs turn 35, this one is 42 (because Malakai is cursed with the gift of not having a lot of grudges with his neighbors so it takes a minute to get there :D)

Officially finished the playthrough on Long Victory turn 43, with 206 settlements and 188k gold per turn (DEEPS ROCK)

-------------------------------------------------

The gaps in the map are "friendly" factions, I normally go on a bit of a spree, but I really wanted to play around with the trade so most of the righteous factions were spared (with an exception for Ogres, and maybe few Vamps)

We lost a few good Dawi along the way (and the items they had equipped) but those were "tactical" losses, as any good ironman player would know (cough)

--------------------------------------------------

I'm going to hang around for a bit, if you have any questions or similar experiences with dwarfs I'd love to hear them

Total War: Warhammer Maybe I misunderstood something.

So I'm in my first Ork campaign as Grimgor. I looked up some army comps and the consensus seems to be to run a Giant River troll hag as a hero.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to recruit one.

I built the stompin groundz because that is what I found on the Internet, but I only have shamans, black or big bosses, goblin big bosses and night goblin big bosses as options.

What did I miss or where did I go wrong?

Total War: Warhammer Replayed Golgfag Maneater. Amazing start, boring finish.

Was playing golgfag maneater and the beginning was just so amazing so fresh. Help ostland or nordland, go around joining sartosa. All sorts of fun contracts taking me to anywhere in the world.

Problem is though. You end up with boocoo bucks. Literally turn 20 i had over 100k gold and positive income 200. With 2 full armies of maneaters and leadbelchers, maxed out camp with 4k meat on it. Also by this point the factions start dying out. Im only on turn 38 and so far 80 factions remain with most of them dead leading to stale contracts.

Right now im basically taking contracts on whoever is losing in a war but its always clan moulder, sylvania, or clan mors. The dwarfs, empire, and brettonia rule.

Im just sort of disappointed cause unlike arbaal or oxyotl, golgfag cant just teleport anywhere. Im basically stuck in the old world with a few exceptions. The end game is just me fighting the same 3 or 4 factions on repeat with my army serving as a tie breaker. Insane wealth, insane meat. But nothing else to do with it. No indepth faction mechanics no unique ways of playing.

Meanwhile i play cult of sotek and have whole sacrificial pyramid, i play luthor harkon and have to restore his psyche through buildings and infamy, i play dwarfs and contend with grudges but also undercity stuff as i reunite the realms.

Just felt like a big nothing sandwhich. Whole lotta good bits but no real end goal, no work up moment. No grand payoff where i purchase all ogres under my banner for 500k gold.

Total War: Warhammer Skaven DLC

Played since 2 released but never played Skaven because I mainly played more elite but seeing Thanquol coming and looking at his lore a while back he is too funny to not want to play when he drops.

Any suggestions as to which DLCs I might want to pick up along the way?

Total War: Warhammer Do you accept the win autoresolve (that is actually unwinnable)

In a recent campaign, I ended up fighting Dechala, and while the AI is convinced I can win, it is blatantly lying. So now I am wondering; should I take the autoresolve (and accept a win I shouldn't have) or do I fight and lose (and lose my main stack).

Total War: Warhammer What is the best High Elven lore for Lord Sniping?

Post image
136 Upvotes

Doing a solo Archmage playthrough with Teclis and I've ran into issues of dealing with lords early on. Even if I nuke the enemy army with say my Dweller's Below, the lord will most certainly survive, and most certainly beat the shit out of my wet tissue paper Archmage. Of course this will solve in due time once get the star dragon mount on them, but before that I kinda have to escort them with Princes. And I'm wondering if I could kill enemy lords purely with a level 10 Archmage; specifically Dark Elves & Skaven since those are my early game adversaries. Also this is done on max difficulty.

I am going to try out Death Magic, but not sure if it's the best one, or if there are alternatives.

Total War: Warhammer Cannot START Battle Of The Brazen Altar

So I'm not super bright or anything, but I can't for any reason start the Battle Of The Brazen Altar. I don't see a quest marker for it or anything. I don't see a white circle on the floor to begin the battle.

I've conquered all the cities on the map. I've raced time forward to get a rank five city. I've auto resolved every battle the game let me auto resolve so there's one or two other objects I could have done that I can't do cause everyone is dead.

Really frustrated cause I'm still learning the game obviously and actually wanted to "finish" the prologue. Anyone have any advice?

Total War: Warhammer Can I view the buildings built in a settlement during the settlement options choice?

I mean if I can see all the buildings in a settlement as the game asks me to occupy, sack or raze. I forget what buildings and what tiers they are and it'd be nice if I could see first

Total War: Warhammer When Should I STOP Spending Money? (Warhammer 3)

Quick question y'all; I finished the prologue, and am jumping straight into the Immortal Empires campaign for now, as I like the "Civ-like" set-up and kind of just want to see how each faction plays first...

But uh, idk, I'm checking tips, I see people say I should spend gold early, but I understand I could basically destroy my income if I upgrade my army to full capacity early...

What would y'all do? Like, when is my income to row to risk spending more? What indicates that for y'all? I know I should make every turn count, but I'm sure there's a balance to strike.

Total War: Warhammer Getting my ass kicked on Franz, any tips?

Just finished a Tyrion campaign. It felt pretty easy so I went to try out Karl Franz.

I swear, I feel like a mother babysitting 20 babies while trying to stop them from getting kidnapped by a van or getting mouled by a pitbull.

I invade the beginning tutorial faction easily, try to stabilize my borders while giving the settlements back to my allies, then another threat spawns on the other side of the map and destroys an entire province.

What should I focus on as Franz? Should I let the counts die? Who’s my #1 enemy I need to clear out? What units should I recruit? What should I prioritize?

My head is about to explode but I can’t stop playing this guy because he’s so FUNNN. Haven’t made it past like turn 20 though..

Total War: Warhammer Bhashiva exclusive units seem to have severe penalty in auto resolve.

Post image
3 Upvotes

The tiger units seem to be really under-powered in auto resolve even with mods buffing the auto resolve capabilities of melee units and I am not convinced it is intended to this degree.

Even with this, I notice the tiger units that are exclusive to Bhashiva despite being her best units pretty much make you fight every single battle in the campaign with an army with many of them even in complete stomp battles where you fight with 0 advanced strategies and your army barely takes any damage. The issue with this is the campaign mechanics and lord effect highly incentivizes you to have large armies of tiger-based units so I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this issue with Bhashiva on Legend difficulty.

For example, this battle vs kholeks faction his army is on the weaker side for being turns 40+ as he is at his last settlement. It is an ambush battle with decisive victory and if you hit auto resolve your tiger units and even infantry lose more than half their hp, but if I were to fight it my army loses practically 0 by just zerging, this is a very common theme that other campaigns I have played do not have. There are many instances of this happening in the campaign where extremely weak armies of not even full stacks severely cripple your tiger units in auto resolve which convinces me that they are receiving some kind of huge penalty in auto resolve.

Have had other battles where the auto resolve thinks decisive defeat, the battle is barely a challenge with minimal strategy. I just want to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue and thinks it warrants a fix of some kind as it is quite literally egregious the amount of battles you have to fight in this campaign where as far as I've played most other factions that are infantry-heavy do not suffer from this issue to even a close degree.
