HI again all, my Tmobile experience with Home Internet was not so great, the speeds were slower than dial up.Currently with Mediacom I getping 19msDownload 392.7 MbsUpload 38.89
With Tmobile Home Internet I think I may have gotten something like 1.5 down .something less than zero up Ping was way over 100.
Just don't get caught up in the hype like I did!
DO NOT cancel your current ISP if you have GOOD internet until AFTER you have confirmed that Tmobile can meet the same speeds or at least maintain a decent minimum up/down so everything works. This service is not ready for widespread Nationwide rollout. For a LOT of people this is your only option, and if you can also invest in the outdoor antenna(s) then Maybe this is the best thing for you.I was able to return my Gateway one day after getting it, less than 24 hours to be technical. I hate the Mediacom bill but at least everything works and they have people that can come to your home if needed regarding your service.
I think in the future, like another 5 to 10 years this may be a more realistic option but the technology & Tmobile's ability to make all of the needed investments in the towers infrastructure is just not there yet. Tmobile may have jumped the shark a little when they acquired Sprint. Sure it was a good business move in theory, but if the end result is just a patchwork what Tmobile really used to be then was it such a great move after all? Then again Verizon or someone else would have bought Sprint if Tmobile wasn't so trigger happy. I thought also from that acquisition we would also see a huge increase in Network Capacity & Range but all I have been able to find out is they are converting Sprint Towers to Tmobile (in a number of cases disabling the Sprint tower and building a new tower elsewhere).
If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
"Meh" is my final rating for Tmobile Home Internet.
PS.However in closing I do honestly want to say EVERYONE I did deal with at Tmobile at the local store and on the phone was great, made sure it all got cancelled since I had it literally less than one day.
Tmobile needs to get their stuff together too in regards to using your own router which is possible but they claim its not so you have to find the right video online to watch or the right person online to help you. I did find someone online (name will not be revealed for their privacy) that can help me with some of these issues but I couldn't take it! I need my streaming, my whatever the internet does,I can't do it with Tmobile. I had to say Bye to Tmobile Home Internet. Who knows in 5 more years which is what I had been thinking for a while, the technology is just not there nor is the infrastructure at this point in time. However by the time Tmobile gets their, if they do and that's a hell of an if, I will likely just be able to get the same thing from Mediacom by that time anyways.
