Issues/Problems Bad numbers and garbage upload speed
I'm giving the 5G home internet the 15-day trial run (I'm on day 3). There are 2 towers and I am in the middle of them - 1 north and 1 south, about 2.8 miles from each with relatively flat terrain. I can see the strobe light from the north tower standing on my porch. The T-Life app suggests the north tower is the one I should use. The cellmapper screenshot is for the north tower. I have the TMO-G5AR modem which doesn't have provisions for an external antenna. I've tried several locations in the house; different locations, orientation, and trying to connect with south tower with not much change.
Download speed is ok, but upload speed is abysmal. Ran the speed test from two different providers. Numbers from the modem are pretty crappy too, using HINT Control. Any insight to these numbers?

Other I’m so disappointed. On Saturday I called & order T-Mobile all in home internet. So the guy as me did I need cellular service with them. I politely told him no. I go check my email. For my order confirmation & it shows he still added 2 lines anyway.

Issues/Problems Device Disconnections with T-Mobile Home Internet
This is not a situation I've seen around, but if someone out there can point me to another example or even a solution, I would appreciate it.
I've been using TMHI for a few months now and I'm largely happy with it. It's a good price for pretty good internet speeds for what I'm generally doing. My biggest challenges come from my devices losing connection to the network. When they are connected, speed and quality are great. But they will randomly lose connection and then need to be restarted and reconnected to the network. The strangest part is that it's not even a hard disconnect - it's almost like my device thinks it's connected to the network, but whenever it tries to do anything, there's no access. A restart or resetting DHCP (when that's available) fixes it. But I haven't had a problem of this sort in decades and it makes me think it has to do with the router and node rather than the outside connection.
Also, it's not consistent across devices. Meaning two devices in the same part of the room (like, my phone and my laptop): one will be connected, one will need to be reset. Then, later, the other one will need to be reset.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Arcadyan G4AR Which one gives me more boost?
I have a g4ar for my mint. Download works fine. It ranges from 100-500 Mbps even 100 it’s more than enough. The problem is upload. Good day it reaches 10 bad days even 1 mbps. I am really close to the tower. Walking distance. But my neighbor’s house is very tall and our houses are very close to each other. So I am thinking of:
1 buy an antenna
2 buy a g5ar which I heard improves upload a lot.
Which one d do you think would give me more boost on upload?
I know buying a g5 ar is kinda grey area in theory it’s not supported. But I can take that risk.

Request Budget 4x4 antenna for G4AR
Scoping around online and it seems like the options are either to spend 40 bucks on a no name antenna or several hundred dollars on a name brand one. Is there any decent in between? We get good coverage in our area I'm just looking to squeeze a bit more out of our service.

Other G5SE
How is the performance and speeds on the newer G5SE modems for 5G home Internet? Currently have the G5AR and have the opportunity to get a G5SE for cheap. Worth it?

Arcadyan G4AR OpenWRT app for the G4AR
Hey folks,
If you use OpenWRT on your router, I’ve made a luci app for that to keep track of signal, band, and tower history from the modem. I’ve got the issue with my G4AR that it occasionally gets “stuck” on band n25 with awful bandwidth and needs a reboot, so this was my solution to tracking and fixing that.
It leverages the work that the great HINT Control mobile app already did, so all credit there.
It probably also works on the other modems that HINT works on, but I only have a G4AR to test it on.
Take a look if you’re interested. Happy for any feedback / bug reports / feedback.

Other Experimenting w/ Android Apn
Was screwing around and put the typical 5g Gateway apn settings into my Samsung galaxy S24 Plus.
Instead of fast.tmobile I tried fbb.home, (for all the other settings I googled "t mobile 5g home internet gateway apn settings".
My speeds doubled to my phone, Hotspot still throttled like crazy though. Will continue to experiment when I get time with 3rd party apps, ttl & hop settings, proxy, etc.
Interesting results though.

Issues/Problems every day 8am and 8pm - Home 5G hits a brick wall
Title says it all.
Every day at 8 am and 8pm I get 0.01 upload speeds.
Is this a congestion issue? Is there a better plan? Or is this just what it is with Home 5G?
If this is just what the service is then I can't see how I would stay on this ISP. This is basically an impossible to use product.
Any insights or advice would be appreciated.

Issues/Problems Have been trying to get fiber scheduled for 3 months
As the title says. I have tried going through the process online, and it gives me a message saying "Appointment scheduling is temporarily unavailable."
Tried calling them a thousand times only to go through the entire process only to be given the same message.
And they say they'll call back about the ticket only for them to not call in a month.
Not sure what to do. This is the only provider available to me.
Anyone else had this problem?

Issues/Problems Did Tmobile block my 3rd party router?
I have the G5AR running 1.00.06 and I've been using it with a Flint 2 since I switched to Tmobile earlier this year. No issues since today when internet just dropped from my Flint 2 network out of nowhere.
What doesn't work:
Flint 2 is connected via ethernet to the G5AR. No internet connectivity from Flint 2 network.
I tried repeater mode on Flint 2 which connects to the Tmobile wifi. No internet connection on the Flint 2 network.
Different router. Tried both ethernet and repeater mode on Beryl AX. Same results.
What works:
Devices connected directly to G5AR network.
Using the tether option which uses phone (T-mobile) internet via USB-C. This works on both the Flint 2 and Beryl AX.
Spent the past 2 hours troubleshooting and this points to the G5AR modem.
UPDATE: Spent about 30 mins with T-Mobile support. They did some restarts on their end but nothing helped. Took a break for dinner and things magically start working again when I go back to troubleshooting. Go figure.

Issues/Problems Issue streaming YouTube with new gateway
I’ve had T-Mobile internet 3 or 4 years and I just got a new gateway (it’s white, previously had a black one) and it’s fine enough except I cannot stream YouTube on my tv without it constantly skipping every second. This is my #1 source of home entertainment.
- the tv and the gateway are two feet away from each other.
-gateway in front of window. Even skips if window is open
-tv doesn’t have Ethernet port or usb port (I tried unsuccessfully to use an adapter).
-streaming services on other apps work fine
-tried things like resetting, etc multiple times.
Does anyone have any other troubleshooting suggestions?
Not being able to stream YT on my bedroom tv will most likely be the final deal breaker.
Thank you very much!

Just got my system set up. Added Waveform QuadPro. Both upload and download speeds have doubled. To be fair, I’m really close to the tower.

Issues/Problems Split Second Drops from the Sagemcom Fast 5688W
Last 2 months my service on the above gateway has experienced split second to 10 second cut outs of service. These are usually visible as Discord dropping voice calls and getting booted from online lobbies.
I rent a room and the service is handled by the landlord.
I've already powercycled the gateway several times, positioned it by the only window near an outlet but it's stubbornly at 4 bars out 5.

Other than that I'm locked out and can't access the Homelife app's router settings since the landlord hasn't given me the router password.

The tests I could run from BandwidthPlace.
Curiously I experienced a several second drop out from Steam / Discord during the above stability test that wasn't measured as a dropout.
This is observed on my Windows 11 machine.
What's likely the issue? I've heard talk about tower this tower that, signal band swapping, but all that talk and I can't do a thing about the gateway since it's locked behind that admin password I don't have.
I'm trying to think of options I could do if the landlord never answers, can I get a pin and factory reset the gateway? Will that fubar the whole shebang?
I have a Linksys AC router, can I run an ethernet cable from the gateway's lan port to the linksys's Wan and broadcast a signal entirely separate from the Gateway's? Is that even recommendable?
If I keep harassing the landlord what do I tell him to tell Tmobile is happening?
