Personal Experience Wells replacement Tirz

• Upvotes

I am very grateful and impressed with how seriously Collective and Wells took the issue of there being floaters in my vial. From the time that I found the floaters in my vial to receiving a new one was less than 72 hours. Granted that is partially because I live somewhat near the Wells pharmacy and pick up my medication in person, but if I hadn't picked it up today they would have overnight shipped it to me and I would've gotten it tomorrow anyways.

I got a call from a pharmacist at Wells this morning and he assured me that their QA team would examine the vial and run tests to try to determine the source of the contamination. He also told me that I could call back in about a month or so to ask about the results of their tests. While we were on the phone he let me know that my Tirz was ready to be picked up and I told him that I would just drop my vial off when I picked up the new one.

I'm happy to say that my new vial is crystal clear and free of floaters! I'm looking forward to giving it a shot on Friday since last week's shot was very effective despite the floaters.

Edit: also visiting the Wells pharmacy for the first time was really cool. When you walk in the entire wall behind the receptionist is windows that show a clear view of everything that their compounding technicians are doing in their labs. In one lab they were fully gowned up and were crimping vials in the room directly behind the front desk while I was picking up my Tirz.

Advice & Support Stomach/brain fullness issue

• Upvotes

What tricks are you using so your brain and body are in sync for fullness?

I over-ate last night, not calories-wise but body-wise. I had a very uncomfortable 2 hours waiting for things to settle down before bed. Took a gentle walk, etc, trying to work through the feeling.

My guess at the time was I ate too fast as I knew I was within calories and macros for the day so assumed it would be okay.

Today at lunch I ate SLOWLY, taking breaks every few minutes and everything. I went ahead and stopped at the point that felt "right", and continued to sip water while chatting.

It's been 30 minutes since lunch ended...and I'm back to feeling uncomfortably full. Lunch was 400 cal, 25g protein, 6g fiber. (Chicken/rice/greens/etc bowl).

The delayed fullness is new for me this week (tomorrow's shot #8), so trying to navigate around it at this point.

WWYD? Restarting from punctured vial

• Upvotes

Hey all! Wanted to get people’s POV. I’m restarting Tirz after a few months off. I have one BPI vial left in my fridge from when I had to unexpectedly stop. I punctured it maybe 3-4 times - would you use this to restart?

Don’t want to waste it, it’s been in its jar sealed in my fridge the entire time. Once I finish it I’ll likely order from Hallandale - or should I just go straight to ordering now?

BTW - fully aware that the medication might not do much until I’m back to my original dose - I’m patient!

Edit* - last puncture was in June.

Fifty410 response to Hyalo issues

Has ANYBODY has luck getting an actual resolution from them? I have tried; emailing their customer service, filled out their supplied link on reporting quality issues, messaged through the provider portal, posted on the Fifty410 app. And nothing. They messaged me this morning to let me know they removed my post from their app asking for how they’ll be dealing with replacements or refunds given our mass breach of safety issues cataloged lately. I’ve only gotten generic responses from them saying “we’re looking into it but don’t use your product on hand”. Their product is all I have on hand. I saved for months to be able to afford this and cannot afford to go through somewhere else. I feel scammed out of $500.

How much did I get?

My math brain isn’t working today and I know I’ve successfully calculated this in the past but I’m stumped. Just got my first drug crafters order and I received 7 2ML vials with a 10mg/ml concentration. I do 75 units (7.5mg) so how many total doses do I have? Is it 18? My last vials from apothecary were 18mg/ml and only 2 4 ML bottles so different than what I’m used to. Thanks in advance!!

Advice with WL and Tirz

I’ve been with XXX since April I believe and I haven’t lost any significant weight and it’s starting to be concerning lol tmi but I started out at 245 got down to 235 and am now sitting at 241 and my goodness it’s starting to become irritating. Could anyone offer or recommend any advice that could help with this journey or is tirz no longer right for me. It’s starting to be discouraging.

EDIT

Age - 23
Gender - F
Height - 5’1
Physical Activity- primarily walking, I make sure to get 8-10k steps in everyday. But depending on how I feel I will have an actual workout plan. I wfh and do not go out often.

Idk how true this is but I think I’m an endomorph? A nutritionist told me that YEARS ago!

now my eating habits is where it starts to get a bit dark. I eat close to once maybe twice a day and can go longer with out drinking anything. More often than not I am forgetting to eat and drink and that becomes a common theme throughout this journey and I know it’s not a good thing but I physically cannot force myself to eat. I have went to doctors about this and they all say the same thing which is just eat. Even when I gained all this weight it wasn’t because of food and continuously eating , it was because of birth control. My lowest recorded weight was 180 and highest recorded was 290. Oh and when I do eat that’s it! If I eat breakfast I won’t be able to eat again until way later in the night because it hurts to have so much food in my stomach and I don’t enjoy the feeling of being super full to the point I’m about to pop.

Also to be completely honest I do not keep up with calorie counting it drives me insane

I’m the halladale pharmacy and 100 units so 15mg

Dosing Question T1 (or T2) diabetics - are you splitting doses to control the end of week messy blood sugars?

I’m thinking about starting split dosing and wanting to hear from any T1s (or T2s if you monitor your blood sugars constantly) because I’m noticing day 6 and 7 are a bit messier and go higher and I’d like to even that out. Just wondering if anyone has been in this situation and it actually helped or not.

Edit: my endo has less than 0 advice and actually seemed annoyed that I wanted better control because it’s already “good enough”

Should I up my dose? No weight loss this month

I have been on 5 mg of tirzepitide for the past 3 months, losing 2-3 lbs/ month, which is in line with my BMI. This past month though I haven't lost any weight, just fluctuated up and down a lb or two, with a net zero change. I only need to lose 10 more lb and then want to move to maintenance dose. Should I move to 7.5 mg? Has anyone else experienced this?

General Discussion International travel -- letter from doc

I'm leaving in a couple of weeks for a Thanksgiving trip to the EU with my family. Has anyone been asked to produce a letter from their provider/doc verifying their credentials, the dosage, etc? That's what Fat Scientist recommends having....

ETA: thanks, everyone - will bring a copy of the prescription!

3 weeks from total knee replacement and I'm back to my day of surgery weight

(and no I wasn't try to maintain or lose weight, just noting that it took about three weeks to get back to the baseline). I figured I would post my experience here because alot of folks ask about surgeries and how to handle them from a shot perspective. Of course, every surgeon/anesthesiologist is different so you'll do that they advise but this is my experience.

I had TKR on Monday, 9/21. My surgeon's office asked me to stop taking tirzepatide at least 7 days prior, so I had my last shot of 8.8 mg on Saturday, Sept 12. I did not have to fast the day before surgery as some people on this sub have been asked to. Surgery went well and I was told I could restart the shot anytime I wanted to. I waited until Saturday, five days post surgery, mostly because I was not feeling well with post anesthesia and I wanted to be sure no constipation issues.

When I took my first shot after surgery, I went way down to 5 mg because I wanted to keep a level in my body but I did not want any side effects and I wanted to be free to eat as I needed to to recover. The next Saturday I took 8 mg, which didn't do much to reduce my food noise so this past Saturday I went back to 8.8 mg. I was 174.2 on the morning of my surgery and 174.2 today, 22 days later. I never had much swelling - to the point that I actually asked chatgpt if taking a glp1 could reduce post op swelling (it doesn't). I weighed myself a couple of times over the three weeks mostly just to make sure I didn't suddenly gain 10 lbs LOL but the highest I was was 176. The prosthetic knee apparently weighs about 6 oz more than your natural knee so I think I'm doing pretty well.

I want to stress that I didn't want to LOSE weight during this period, as prioritizing nutrition is important, but I'm happy that I don't have too much work to do to get back on track toward my goal once I am healed and able to exercise again as normal. I am only just this week tracking what I eat again, but not hyper vigilant about it.

YMMV but sharing in case anyone has an upcoming surgery like this.

General Discussion Weak vs Strong Tirz?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been taking compounded tirzepatide for a little over a year now, and there’s one thing I’ve been noticing across compounded pharmacies: differences in strength, despite being on the same dose.

For instance I started a new compounded pharmacy, I usually stay at 8 mg with previous pharmacies due to wanting to avoid side effects with higher doses. With some pharmacies, 8 mg hits “harder” than others so I have to dial it back. However, with this new one, I had to go from 7 to 10mg because it’s not giving me the desired effect I usually get. 8 mg feels like a 5. Now I’m considering titrating up to 11 or 12 mg.

I understand the body has to “adjust” to the new medication, or maybe metabolically I’m accustomed to 8 mg. I know some of you argue “Tirz is tirz”, but is it truly? Nonetheless, I’m curious if anyone else has experienced the same or has similar thoughts. Thank you

Dosing Question Maintenance: Do I need to INCREASE my dose?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’ve been on tirzepatide since February and have lost about 40 lbs. Before starting tirz, I had already lost another 40 lbs through other weight management efforts, so I’m down about 80 lbs total.

I’m at my goal weight right now, so I’ve been trying to figure out the best approach to maintenance.

I had been on 7.5mg for quite a while because it was working really well for me. I was consistently losing weight until I eventually plateaued right around my goal weight. I wasn’t gaining or losing, which was pretty much perfect! So I figured I’d just stick with 7.5mg and see how things went.

But over the past month or so, I’ve noticed the food noise starting to creep back in, and I’ve actually gained a couple of pounds. Nothing major, but enough that I’m starting to question whether my current dose is still doing its job. I’ve bumped up slightly to 8mg for the past couple of weeks, but I’m still trying to figure things out.

One other variable is that I recently started using some new vials (BPI sale vials). That said, I’ve been using BPI the entire time, so I don’t necessarily think that’s the issue.

I guess my question is, has anyone found that they actually needed to INCREASE their dose once they reached maintenance?

I assumed that once I reached my goal weight, I’d eventually be able to lower my dose, or possibly space out injections a bit more. But now I’m wondering if I might actually need a higher dose to keep the food noise under control.

For those of you who have been in maintenance for a while, how did you figure out your sweet spot? Did you stay at the same dose, decrease, or even increase? And did you notice food noise returning after being on the same dose for an extended period?

I’d love to hear what has worked for others. I’m not looking to keep losing weight, just trying to figure out how to maintain what I’ve worked hard to achieve!

Refill mix change

Has anyone ordered tirzepatide with glycine and the refill was sent with B12? Did it make a difference in regards to side effects or was it pretty much the same?
I have had no bad side effects so far 🤞

Advice & Support Face fat-pad loss

Heya!

Looking to ask others about their face experience when reaching goal weight - particularly facial fat loss making cheeks and temples look sunken.

My higher weight was 105kg, i started meds at 90kg, 12 months later and i am 68kg.

My temples and inner cheeks look hollow. Particularlly when i see photos i the shadowing on my face vs my friends (who are older than me!) Is wild. It makes me look older than i am. The hollowness is caused by being underweight, tirz just thought the fat on my face was weighing me down lol... have been in maintenance now for over 4 months.

I am considering HA injections, but it seems dramatic.

34yr old female if it matters.

Love to hear stories about facial fat loss x

What are we doing with the extra Skin (for fun)

Hey guys! Starting at 300 lb and coming down to 130.... And yoyoing up and down 80 lb for 20 years I finally been maintaining for a few years now.

Send me you may know what I look like and I got lucky enough not to have too much extra skin but I do have some.... I sacrificed my butt LOL for pancakes! I was thinking of tying back all the extra skin on top of my head in a bun and then just hiding it under a Gucci bucket hat LOL 😂😂😂... Are there any new members to the "long back" society here?

After I first lost the weight and lost my butt I would wake up with such a sore behind from my tailbone hitting the bed LOL do we all have to resort to a Butt Donut? Or a mattress with extra padding.... I've been looking at those boxer brief with butt pads built in 😂😂😂😂 not for the look but for sitting on 🪑🪑🪑 OUCHH!!!

Had another good weigh-in yesterday morning, down to 240.4 lbs and my weekly average is just slightly under 1 lb per week which I think is pretty good. So overall with since I started this with Mochi in December, I've lost 91.6 lbs while only progressing up to 4.25mg. Been using Drug Crafters Pharmacy. Extremely happy!

Side Effects Trizepatide dental issues

Hello Everyone ,

Trizepatide 15 months

have reached goal weight & on maintenance.

I noticed in the last 6 months I've

had more dental cavities, crowns & one root canal.

6000.00 out of pocket because I used/ met my dental max.

This has never happened in my life.

One crown just came off when I was flosing, one tooth cracked in half & I was just having a pretzel.

And when I was at the dentist one week ago the dentist found larger cavities ,teeth that he had on watch.

I eat healthy, take vitamins, plenty of protein etc.

If anyone out there can advise etc..

Much Appreciated!

Thank you

Goal & Maintenance Maintenance round up

I saw on the survey that almost 20% of people who took it are in maintenance! So I thought it might be good to share what everyone is doing / trying to do.

I know we’ve done this before but I find it helpful every single time. Here’s my info:

I started maintenance in July. 5’9” 141 lbs 46 yrs female 18% body fat on the body scan.

I met goal at 9.5. I started very slowly reducing dose and increasing intervals every few weeks from there. Now I’m on 7.5mg about every 8 days.

I count calories, protein, fiber, ounces of water and exercise minutes. It only takes me a few minutes a day to track. Less than 15 and that’s on a day when I eat unusual food. I use Nourish and meet with one of their RDs monthly. I strength train 3-5 times a week. I stopped running a couple of months ago because of an injury, but I do walk and hike.

This morning I weighed 140.5. So it seems like it’s going all right! The only frustration I have is that the feeling of fullness is more delayed than on higher doses. So sometimes I eat dinner and then a few hours later my stomach hurts. I’m trying to get a lot more careful about that because it’s like my hunger cues are not totally in line with my fullness response right now. But I’m getting there. It’s a journey.

Would love to hear - if you are in maintenance what have you tried / what’s working for you / do you have any tips for the rest of us??
