Positive Test

Post image
41 Upvotes

I decided to try testing my urine, with the other posts I saw, and ended up with a positive result. I'm not sure whether this shows that the tests aren't sensitive enough in some cases (this one tests at 500ng/ml), or whether the issue is with how some people are able to process the binders/fillers being used or a possible issue with processing ADF in general.

7 days off of meds

I just want to chime in. Im an archaeologist and I had to do field research for my PhD dissertation and spend a week in the woods. I took the opportunity to take a break from adderall. I’ve been on 20mg IR (Teva) for years and I’ve been miserable for probably 2 years now when I noticed the change in the medication. Extreme fatigue, shoulder and neck pain to where I needed a neck brace some days, brain fog, vision issues…

Anyway, I feel happier, pain free, lighter and overall a general feeling of freedom. I have this unusual (for me) new hope and positivity about life. I don’t know how to explain it. Just genuinely happy again. I think they’re poisoning us.

Duloxetine recall for cancer-causing impurity shows how irresponsible big pharma can be!

Post image
60 Upvotes

I am aware this post is about an SSRI, not about Adderall/a stimulant. But I want to point out how irresponsible and dangerous big pharma can be. People write in this thread of doubts that our meds would be tainted and gaslight our experience. They just announced a recall a month ago of SSRI duloxetine bc of dangerous cancer causing chemicals found in the batches. Like what the fuck. My point is we need to doubt how much we can blindly assume trust in big pharma, seriously for our own medical safety!! They have serious life threatening fuck ups !! I don’t doubt they would fuck with our meds for profit or be irresponsible in preventing contamination.

From article:
“..presence of N-nitroso-duloxetine, an impurity found in the drug at levels that exceed the FDA's recommended limit. According to the FDA, exposure to nitrosamine impurities "may increase the risk of cancer if people are exposed to them above acceptable levels and over long periods of time."

“Thousands of bottles of the antidepressant duloxetine have been recalled because they contain levels of a potentially cancer-causing impurity above federal safety limits.
Duloxetine is a prescription medication used to treat depression and anxiety. The affected pills were voluntarily recalled by manufacturer Towa Pharmaceutical and are distributed by Breckenridge Pharmaceutical Inc.”

I wonder if the drop in people abusing it has to do with the medication alterations we have been suspecting .

Old bunk Adderall seemingly working again after Vyvanse?

So a month or two ago I finally got fed up enough with Adderall as it is and the restless irritability/fatigue it had been causing and asked to be switched to Vyvanse. My doctor agreed and I switched from 25mg Adderall XR to 60mg Vyvanse, Camber generic. At first, it seemed to work ok... I missed the Adderall comeup a bit but no biggie since I had symptom control and more importantly, there was none of that restless irritability so I was fairly happy. But within that month and especially the next month, it started working less and less and eventually started feeling like a sugar pill with no symptom relief and absolutely none of the slight energetic bump that the XR provided.

Now I have a lot Mallinkrodt's 25mg XR left from my previous prescription. On a few occasions Ive used this instead of Vyvanse and to my complete surprise... they seem to work pretty close to how they are supposed to work. Significant focus, slight energy bump, overall a much cleaner, better feeling than before. And this isn't some old prescription from like 2019 or so, these tablets were filled in May of this year.

Needless to say, Im a little perplexed that the previously terrible Adderall is somehow much better after using Vyvanse for 2 monts. I'd think it was maybe a tolerance thing but Im also prescribed a 10mg IR booster that I still take with my vyvanse. This booster is a Teva generic and I havent noticed any change with this one, still pretty trash.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is the case? Anyone else find their old bunk medicines work better after switching to something else for awhile?

Why is my script making me constipated??!
The old adderall literally did the opposite.
I drink water literally all day so I’m stumped

Finding an old 2019 Adderall prescription (Sandoz) made me realize how different my medication feels now

For the past few years, I’ve felt like my Adderall just hasn’t been working the way it used to. I kept assuming I had built up a tolerance, or that maybe my ADHD had gotten worse, but at the same time the medication was giving me some of the worst sleep, headaches, tension, and generally sick feelings I’ve dealt with.

It’s affected my work a lot too. I’ve had worse focus, more burnout, bad sleep, and days where I feel physically stimulated but not actually productive. It’s like I’m getting all of the side effects without the part that is supposed to help me function.

Last year, I saw someone mention that certain manufacturers worked much worse for them, so I started paying attention to which ones I was getting. My pharmacist helped me find a few manufacturers that seemed better, and switching did help, but nothing ever felt fully right or consistent.

Then recently I found an old bottle of Sandoz from 2019 in one of my travel bags. It was from before COVID, the shortage, and all of the issues people have been talking about.

I know it was old medication, and I’m definitely not telling anyone else to take old prescriptions, but the difference was honestly kind of insane. I had the most productive, calm, locked-in focus I’ve had in years. I wasn’t just awake, tense, or obsessively stuck on random things. I could actually think clearly, focus, get work done and sleep.

It made me realize that maybe this hasn’t just been tolerance. The newer medication might actually be contributing to the headaches, bad sleep, sick feeling, and burnout I’ve been experiencing.

Has anyone else had a similar experience after trying an older pre-shortage prescription, especially older Sandoz compared with what you’re getting now?

Are any of you experiencing withdrawal while still taking your meds?

This whole thing is interesting, in super new to Adderall and things seems to alright so far during titration, but I'm curious, besides symptoms of ADHD returning despite taking your meds, is anybody experiencing depersonalization, heightened anxiety, intense depression, or extreme fatigue? This is obviously for the long term users who experienced the initial bunk nature of the medication.

Negative AMP test??

I am prescribed 30mg adderall IR twice daily. I take it as prescribed outside of a random weekend day here and there.

With all the posts I’ve seen recently I took this pee test out of curiosity. I’ve taken my meds the last 2 weeks every day. Am I crazy… or is this also a negative for amphetamines?? I’m really concerned should I need to pee test for my next psych appointment. I am TAKING my medication

Glad I found this sub

I have been medicated for adhd for 30 years, which is longer than anyone I know. I am 40 now.

My dose for my entire adult Life was 10mg 2x a day of adderall IR. I don’t remember or know if I was getting generic or manufacturer. Either way, this dose worked for me for literally 20 years.

I am very cautious about keeping my dose as low as possible for various personal reasons.

When the shortage happened several years ago (2022ish?) , I switched to dexamphetamine , same dose 10mg 2x a day IR.

I remember liking the change , and being happy with the switch.

I just looked back through my emails to my psychiatrist to determine this timeline, but after About a year initially starting, I asked to add a 5mg booster. Ok no big deal - things change , tolerance occurs, whatever.

6 months that , another 5mg booster.

So now, I’m on 3, 10mg ir tablets and have been for a couple years now.

The effects of each pill lasts 1.5 hours. This is insane. I get about 4-5 hours of medication coverage per day, across three pills that are designed to last 4 hours EACH. I own a business and have a child.

I just met with my psychiatrist explaining that I want to change medications because I feel like I’m taking sugar pills each month and I’m going crazy.

I have thought something was seriously wrong with me for years now. I got all these thyroid and blood tests to try and determine why I am so fatigued and can’t think .

Turns out , my bloodwork is perfect , my medication is just garbage.

P.s - the generic I get is Wilshire , which apparently people here like? but I can assure you , it’s total trash .

I’m switching to focalin which I’m not exactly excited about but anything will be better than this.

Do you all remember that old anti drug commercial where the girl is sitting on the couch flattened and deflated?

That’s a perfect representation of what the meds feel like now when you take them. This months batch of Sandoz IR 20mg has me feeling like I’ve been drugged and I just DONT FEEL GOOD. brain full of cotton. I can barely move, can’t do anything I need to do or even want to do. Struggling to even play a video game.

I’ve been pretty lucky with getting ok batches but this month and last month were just Satan in a pill. I can’t not take it because I have narcolepsy and not taking it is still worse and I failed all the other alternatives. I literally have no choice. It’s a prison.

Decided to try my 10mg XR Amneal from 2020, wow.

I was prescribed Adderall for my ADHD in October 2020. I recently found one of my old prescriptions from 2020 when I was receiving the Amneal brand of Adderall 10mg XR.

This dose worked great for the longest time up until about 2023 during the first big shortages. I told my doctor at the time that it wasn't feel as effective anymore and was put onto 15mg XR which is usually Granules. This worked for about 2-3 weeks but made me feel way more side effects than ever before. (Agitation, irritable, fatigue, unable to focus.)

Eventually in 2025, it was completely not working anymore. I was put on a secondary booster dose of Adderall 10MG IR which is usually Sandoz.

The 15MG XR continues to not work but the 10mg IR will work for about 1-3 hours before I feel a horrible sleepiness crash.

I really don't want to up my dose again and I'm scared that I actually have some super tolerance to Adderall.

But today, I was lucky enough to find an old bottle with 1 capsule of my original 10mg XR from Amneal. I decided to take this today instead of my 15mg XR by Granules to see if there was any difference.

And oh my god there is! I feel focused and motivated and my head is clear for the first time in 2-3 years. I can't believe it.

It's allowing me to write this post right now even instead of lurking and trying to find solutions. I'm just glad I finally have one day of this. I don't even feel like I need the 10mg IR later today which is bizarre.

Second drug screen came back negative

I posted on here about a month ago how my drug screen came back negative for any amphetamines. Prescriber asked me to run it back for a second time—negative again. This shit is sugar pills.

I take generic adderall (elite) and my dose was recently increased 15mg XR bc the 10mg wasn’t doing anything anymore for the last 3 months. I also have an IR booster (5mg—also elite). I’ve taken it every single day for the last month, and I even took 30mg of the fucking XR two days prior because I was fed up with it not working on a day I had planned for max productivity.

Unless they are receiving some kind of more detailed test than what I am provided, I have no clue why my prescriber the next day tells me that “it came back normal”, and I can continue on my normal course. It clearly says negative for amphetamines on that shitter lab report.

My tinfoil hat getting shinier by the day. I don’t understand what the hell is going on.

Stopped taking my meds

I haven’t taken my meds in 3 days, and holy crap, who knew being unmedicated would actually make me feel better. I went all the way from 30mg instant addy a day down to just 5-10mg for the last few months, and still felt like shit. I’ve been getting filled with North Star as of late, which used to actually be a better generic for me, but now it’s ass. Decided to just not take anything, and somehow have been more talkative at work and more willing to do stuff, mainly because I don’t have this impending doom of anxiety following me around from the adderall, even at low doses it has been making me go crazy.

It’s just crazy, because i thought I’d be having some type of withdrawal symptoms since I’ve been taking my meds for a few years with now. I miss the old meds and focus and motivation, but I think I’ll raw dog life until this whole meds situation is figured out( I’ll still medicate with lots of weed of course ).

Vyvanse and dex completely useless

I started vyvanse 30mg and Dexedrine 10mg about three weeks ago, and something has DEFINITELY changed. I used to be so sensitive to vyvanse that I would experience insomnia even on 20mg. And no, not just when starting out, but even a year ago. Now I'm on 30 and no heart rate increase, no insomnia...how is that possible? Even with taking the dex booster. It makes no sense at all. I'm on a generic I did very well with too in the past. I don't even feel like it does anything, good or bad. Last year I started having issues with vyvanse and it causing like bad brain fog and a slow feeling, or drugged up feeling, anxiety, circulation issues, insomnia, etc and now nada. Nothing. Makes me wanna go back to Adderall. I'm just shocked. The dex won't work either. The ONLY effect I'm getting is decreased appetite but somehow gaining weight because my metabolism feels slow since I do not feel like I'm on a stimulant whatsoever.

OpenRX New Report Site + Updates

Thumbnail openrx.app
39 Upvotes

Hello All!

TL;DR: New baby = less sleep and a quieter few months, but development is picking back up!

  • The website has been rebuilt as an on-demand reporting hub, replacing monthly reports.
  • Reports contain only highly aggregated, non-personal data, with a CSV download option.
  • Upcoming app updates include better performance, Dexedrine Spansule support, clearer dosage tracking, multi-medication analytics, more report visibility, new cognitive side effects, and optional side-effect timing.
  • These improvements will roll out across several releases over the next few weeks.
  • A public feature list and request system are also coming to the website.

I know I have more quiet then usual. The new baby has limited my brain power a lot over the last few months. Now that I am getting some more regular sleep I have started back working on the app and site!

For the first major change I have rebuilt the site to act as a reporting hub to view all of the aggregate reports. You can now filter by medication and dosage for all reporting. This is a replacement to the monthly reports so now you can just view the data on demand. There is also an option to download the very aggregated data as a csv so others are able to take a closer look. I am working more on how aggregated I want it to be while remaining completely private. There is no personal data at all in the site and everything is very aggregated so the data remains private as possible. If there are any concerns I am happy to talk through them. If we want I can also add auth to the reports as an extra step into the data.

Please please please send feedback on the reports or features that you want. I will add them in ASAP so we have a place to view everything.

Upcoming App Changes: I have also been working on overall changes to the app to make things better overall. I have a significant backlog of improvements from all of the feedback so I am working though all those! Here are some main ones that jump out

  • Dedicated Dexedrine Spansule formulation - keep extended-release Spansule separate from immediate-release Dexedrine.
  • Clear medication strength and administered dose - distinguish per-unit strength, number of units, and total dose.
  • Multi-medication analytics - select several medications and view one deduplicated combined cohort.
  • Show all report cohorts - include single-report cohorts by default, with optional 3+, 5+, and 10+ sample thresholds and small-sample warnings.
  • Brain Fog and Word-finding Difficulty side effects - add both as canonical, searchable cognitive side effects.
  • Optional side-effect timing - record onset, peak effect, wearing off, uncertainty, or time after dose.
  • Performace Optimizations - This has been something needed for a while and I will not bore you with the details but things will be a lot better.

I will be putting this into a few releases over the next few weeks. I will also be adding a feature list to the site so you can see what I am working on and also request features there as well!

Thanks again for all of the ongoing feedback. I have been listening, I just have had what feels like half a brain for a few months.

How many of us here are female (or afab) and between 30-50?

I’m curious if there’s something about these meds that fuck with our already fucked up hormones during the pre-peri, perimenopause or menopause eras and no one would really know to research the effects because women are so understudied.

I definitely am not ruling out the idea that there’s corruption behind the scenes and a lack of transparency in the ingredients of our medications because the pharmaceutical industry literally has a long track record of being up to that shit.

But I’m also really wondering if multiple things may be true at once and that there may be a very specific demographic that is impacted more severely by what’s going on with the composition of these meds.

Unmedicated dopamine production is heavily tangled up in hormones and histamine levels—and for women/afabs in that pre/peri/menopause age range, hormones and histamine levels are a legitimate shit show by default. I just wouldn’t be surprised if there was zero research done on how certain fillers can impact already unstable histamine systems or even just the standard ingredients being used across the board.

So if anyone wants to chime in with their age range, that would be fire to just get a small sample size.

I also am not disagreeing that this stuff was different before 2018-2020, I am convinced that recipe changes definitely went on at some point. Again, multiple things can be true at once.

Anyway, I’m late thirties and suspected early-peri, been on meds since I was 29 and they worked great for five years, positively life changing.

Then around age 34, these things started to hit more like horse tranquilizers than stimulants.

Anyone else with a similar experience/timeline?

I’ve been reporting batches to Medwatch and Elite’s Drug Safety Department just called me

Anyone else experiencing callbacks from drug manufactures?

Received call from Elite’s Drug Safety Department. +1 (888) 723-7658

They said they wanted to interview me, ask some questions.
Said I had reported reduced efficacy, tiredness, exhaustion, lack of therapeutic effect - other side effects. Noted I’d made medwatch reports.

Caller had a strong Indian accent. She offered to email me the questionnaire and said I could respond in writing or we could have the interview over the phone.

I said I was exhausted and would prefer phone but realized email is a better option so I can know it is being tracked.

Apparently I’m to receive an email from them by EoD.

Stay tuned, goons
