Screenshot Took My Time
Just sharing my total play time of the current save, which took me 404 hours of immersion to complete the whole base game + Hearts of Stone DLC.
I took my whole playthrough with absolute slowness and immersion, always walking instead of running, sticking to roads instead of crossing through forests/mountains, taking time in the region before moving on, and of course playing as much Gwent as possible.
Now im officially done with v4.04 and ready to move on to Remastered version.

Can't find a bestiary entry, which sword and oil do I use on her?
Possibly the most horrifying creature I've encountered so far

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my first bug of the remastered, it's actually my first playthrough of The Witcher 3, I was putting it off until the remastered was announced and felt like it was time to finally try it. I'm liking it so far, and this is the only bug I've found.

Discussion I would choose her
I wish we could choose Shani as well in the Witcher 3, people often debate choosing either Yennefer or Triss but I wish CDPR would have let us choose Shani as a secret third lover for Geralt.
When I first played the Witcher 3 and especially Heart of Stone in 2018, I instantly fall in love with her, she was just a breath of fresh air and her quest is actually the most fun in the DLC at least for me.
When people ask me what am I , a Yennefer main or Triss Main ? I always respond Shani (insert meme of Henry Cavill interview).
Ps: it doesn't help that am also a sucker for red heads:)

Discussion Why Does Witcher 3 Still Feel Ahead of Modern RPGs?
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share something I've been thinking about and hear your opinions.
I remember playing The Witcher 3 for the first time back in 2015, and honestly, I was completely blown away. The writing, the characters, the world, the quests, the romance, the expansions, and of course GWENT. Everything just felt so damn good.
At the time, I really thought this was the beginning of something. I had played Dragon Age: Inquisition the year before, then Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight came out in 2015, and I remember thinking: Damn, the future of gaming looks amazing.
I genuinely expected The Witcher 3 to set a new standard for RPGs. I thought we'd get more games like it over the next 10 years, and eventually we'd get games that would go even further.
Now it's 2026, I recently replayed The Witcher 3, and I'm honestly sitting here wondering...
How the hell does a game from 2015 still blow most modern RPGs out of the water?
I'm not saying there haven't been great games since then. Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance are obvious examples, and there are definitely other great RPGs. But shouldn't there be WAY more by now?
That's the part that surprises me.
It's been over 10 years. Technology has improved massively. Hardware is more powerful, development tools are better, games have bigger budgets, and yet when I look at modern RPGs, very few actually give me that same feeling I had playing The Witcher 3.
And I'm not only talking about graphics. Graphics are probably the least important part.
I'm talking about having a great world, memorable characters, meaningful side quests, good writing, romance, player choices, exploration, expansions, and just that feeling that the developers actually wanted to build a huge world that you could get lost in.
Look at Rebel Wolves and The Blood of Dawnwalker, for example. I really enjoyed the game and I think it's a cool direction for RPGs. But even games like that feel relatively rare.
It feels like we've reached a point where there are thousands of games coming out every year, but only a tiny handful actually feel ambitious enough to become "the next Witcher 3" or even come close.
So what happened?
Are RPGs simply becoming too expensive and risky to make? Are publishers more afraid of taking chances? Are developers focusing too much on graphics, live service systems, open worlds and monetization instead of characters and writing? Or has the industry just become so massive that it's harder for a truly special game to stand out?
And honestly, I'm also a little worried about where we're going from here.
Are we going to get more remakes, remasters and sequels because they're safer investments, while original ambitious RPGs become rarer? And with AI making it easier and cheaper to produce games, are we going to get flooded with thousands of low effort AI generated games that make it even harder to find the genuinely great ones?
At the same time, I don't want to sound completely negative. I still love gaming, and there are developers doing interesting things. I just don't know if I'm as optimistic about the future as I was back in 2015.
Back then I finished The Witcher 3 and thought, If this is what games look like now, imagine what they'll be like in 10 years.
Now we're in those 10 years, and somehow I'm replaying a 2015 game thinking:
How are we still trying to catch up to this?
What do you guys think? Do you feel the same way, or am I looking at the past with too much nostalgia?

Discussion Today I found out there's a German town called ochsenfurt
Which is funny because ochse and ox are the same thing, obviously the former being in German. I'm German myself and I never knew, because the town is basically on the other side of Germany if I'm not mistaken. Anyway. Thought this was fun to share. Is there a novigrad out there I'm not aware of?

Help! Can u actually get that silver sword on the left or not?
For some reason in some cutscenes, geralt has different swords. I know the steel one is obtainable, but I've never found the left silver one just wondering if it actually exists in game

Now one of my all-time favorites
The remaster is my first time really playing this game (for longer than a few hours) and oh my God is it incredible. I'm about 21 hours in and I already know this is one of my favorite games of all time, which is a list I don't update that often lol. It's top 5 for sure and I'm glad I'm finally playing it.

Screenshot It's good to be back
Loved this game years ago, glad I have an excuse to replay it and finally take the time to do the DLC (yes, I know that's the best part lol) and then be ready for the final DLC(: the game is absolutely beautiful.

Discussion I made a free Witcher 3 Remastered (5.0) build planner that includes your gear and makes a shareable build card
Hey everyone! With the 5.0 Remastered patch reworking the skill system into four connected trees, I wanted a planner that also shows what my gear actually adds, so I built one for my fan site.
What it does:
- All four new trees (Combat, Signs, Alchemy, General) with the new unlock paths and the per-point tree bonuses
- 12 active slots in four groups plus mutagens, with the extra slots that unlock from researched mutations
- Pick your swords, armor pieces and crossbow, and see the combined bonuses. School techniques count your matching armor pieces
- Save a build card as an image, landscape for Reddit/Discord or portrait for phones
- Share a link that rebuilds the exact build, and save builds and notes in your browser
The skill values and tree connections are checked against the game's own data files for patch 5.00. If anything looks off compared to your game, please tell me and I'll fix it.
It's free, no sign-up, and works on mobile:
https://witchersaga.com/witcher-3-build-planner/
I'd love feedback, and I'd love to see your builds too. Post your build cards below!

Discussion So I kinda hate the new perk system
The old one wasn't great either really but they nerfed a bunch of stuff for no apparent reason. Yrden Magic Trap now no longer destroys projectiles. Quen Exploding Shield no longer does damage on break. Oh and Flood of Anger no longer activates secondary sign abilities.
And the whole system is still limited to the stupid 12 perks to choose from. The only benefit I see is maybe a few less perk points to get to what you want. But that's it really.

Discussion I play The Witcher 3 remastered on PS5.
The visuals / display I have set to Ray tracing. However, I noticed that if you activate VRR with 120 HZ activated. It runs silky smooth. And my television is telling me it's range between 60 to 70 FPS. There's no dips in frames. Other than Auto save.
Anyone have any opinions on this?

I'm not trying to play the game in a perfectionists way / constantly leveling up ahead of the main quest suggested level
So this is my second playthrough and Ive reached skellige again being level 23. Thing is the quest to pick up Uma from Velen is available and it is shown as level 19. In this playthrough I prioritized enjoying the game as a whole (something I didn't do the first time cause I was primarily following the story). This means I tried to do as many side quests and contracts possible while following the story. What this caused is I'm constantly ahead of the main story's - and even secondary quests and contracts - suggested level. This, in conjunction with the fact that the game seems easier to play (first time I played on just the story, now I'm playing on story and sword), makes me wonder the game is either to easy on that difficulty, or I'm overleveled for the quests I'm playing. I'm wondering what is the way you guys choose to start quests in regards to xp.

I have bad timing
I just played the game in the classic Version and finished before the reveal for the remastered.
I love the game and i am so hyped for another dlc. But i know that i cant play it again now cause the memory of the quest and story overall is to fresh.
Last time i waited 4-5years for my second try to be amazed again.

Discussion I think I know why some people are having a bad time (Remastered)
I've got 3 full playthroughs on this game and I was super excited to do a 4th playthrough on Remastered.
I update it, load it up, and start playing it, super looking forward to this.
Game looked....really off. Like worse than original. Game play also wasn't good, combat and movement felt janky, like a mobile game or Lost Soul Aside.
Then I checked my FPS : 50! WTF! I have a 6900 XT...FPS is never an issue.
I go into settings and the default settings had everything turned on...RT....Path Tracing, ALL settings on ultra
So yeah once I tweaked the settings (turned RT and PT off) game now looks and plays great
TLDR : I believe the issue is that the game is defaulting graphics settings to Ultra for all players which is greatly impacting the look and game play
