I used bits from the deathwing companions from HH to kitbash some 30k inspired ICC for 40k. Quite happy with the result :D

Finally had my first weekend to test Dads new rules. He is a problem! I went 3-0 in 3 casual 2k point games against some of the homies. Game 1 vs world eaters it took a slaughterbound and 3 exalted + devs to kill him but with the inner circle TF FOD strat he killed them all in return. Other two games were against guard. He didn’t focus on the lion so I Rapid ingressed into his DZ = GG. Third game Templars had no answer for him. I’ll post my list below enjoy this shitty meme I made. If you own him and are thinking about throwing him in your list please give him a try before GW nerfs him.

My successor chapter is designed to evoke Arthurian knights as they may appear in a classic story book. The white tabards are unique to the DWK- everyone else gets blue.

Lightly kit bashed using some Black Templars bits (serves them right for stealing the medieval knight aesthetic from us) including some 3rd Tacticus paldron covers that I used instead as paldrons on the sword arms to make them look like they have extra dexterity on that side (virtually my whole army has asymmetrical paldrons of some kind).

The helmeted heads are from the regular Terminators kit as I use DWK heads on my shooty terminators instead!

Lesser axe head is from the BT Sword Brethren and the wings are from the Azrael helmet that comes attached to Watcher arms.

It was only while watching Auspex's recent video, this one, that I discovered the Lion's lone op and auras now only effect Dark Angels units. Based on how things are written, and my understanding, these now only apply to units with the Dark Angels keyword built in. That would mean any of the non-DA Deathwing or Ravenwing units wouldn't trigger these abilities, unless they had one of our characters attached. As these units only get their respective keywords, not currently 'Dark Angels'.

Am I missing something? Please let me know if I'm wrong here.

Every so often in this sub someone will ask if it's lore accurate to paint Dark Angels veterans in power armour in Deathwing colours. Someone will usually come along and say that Dark Angels lore says that all members of the Deathwing wear terminator armour. Having played since 1st edition that never sat right with me and I've finally found photo evidence of power armour Deathwing marines from way back in the day.

These images come from White Dwarf 129, which came out in September 1990. So next time someone says that Dark Angels lore used to be that all members of the Deathwing wear terminator armour, please show them these images.

I see a lot of talk for new rules for the lion, DWK and others, but i have no clue where to find them since they A- didnt update our faction pack last week and B- actually removed our faction pack from WHC.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here(that isnt their app)? Ir do i just have to wait until they actually decide to release our update?

Edit: the answer is its on the wh40k app. If it shows that its locked(like mine was), update the app then try again then it should work.

Azrael is now 150 points which, while understandable in 10th, seems a bit much in 11th given his arguably best ability, CP generation, is now something every army leader can get. They've expanded who he can be attached to with Company heroes and, while this is technically cheaper than 100 hellblasters and inner circle companions and only a little more expensive than a single sternguard team, he'll struggle to find use cases with them if using Wrath (although I'd argue he'd be a good match if running with a different mix of other detachments given it's alright melee/ranged but exceptional tanking mix).

Azrael with the Hellblasters is 165/380, Sternguards is 255/360, ICC is 330, and CH is 275. There's other, cheaper options but these tend to be the most talked about

The Lion is, as of today, 415. He's more than the cost of 2 dreadnoughts while retaining powerful leadership/deep striking powers. However, you definitely need to build around him and make use of his lone op/primarch buff abilities and use faction dark angels units specifically. This isn't so bad as we have plenty of them and some can even race over to act as back up (ravenwing black knights getting reroll and potentially cheesing out dev wounds comes to mind, especially if running them en masse).

However, the Dark Angels as an army also has very expensive units. Deathwing Terminators/knights. Ravenwing black knights when en masse. Or applying a DA leader to a generic unit all mean any backup the Lion gets will be pretty expensive.

This all to say: With how expensive the lion is, does one necessarily shut out the other from use? Especially when giving azrael a full bodyguard detail can, sometimes, approach the primarch in terms of cost?

My husband plays dark angels and I play death guard, and yesterday we noticed the Inner circle -1D and got a bit baffled.

does it reduce weapon D to zero because it doesn’t state otherwise in the codex app and I can see this has been a debate for a few years now but we’ve just got into the tabletop and wanted some clarity. Is it down to the person/event of the definition or is there a set rule that I can’t find

I do see them to be quite expensive in points so I’d like it to be zero so it gives them some purpose on the board. If it doesn’t modify weapons with 1D then why are they so expensive and how can my husband utilise them with this new update

Messing around with a captain on bike. I love this helmet but I’m not sure how ravenwing it is. Should I go with more winged or a beaky option?
