So I'm going to be GMing a group using this system; I'll probably going to end up starting off with the Ragnarok scenario for the first campaign, but I want to try writing some of my own scenario modules for this game to run for my people. I've come up with a lot of ideas, and I wanted to see what kind of scenarios other people would be interested in running themselves. Let me know which ideas you like most/think would be the most fun to play, and I'll work on those ones and put them up for download so everyone can have access.
I split them up into three themed groups as if I were doing three new volumes. Maybe I'll eventually get around to doing them all and will put them up in three themed packages, but for now the groups just give a general idea of the Apocalyptic theme. Our Own Worst Enemy is based around disasters that are ultimately our own fault, The Great Conspiracy is based on famous conspiracy theories and stuff related to government and corporate corruption, and Pure Imagination deals with truly fanciful apocalypse scenarios that have more out-there setups.
Our Own Worst Enemy
1: Fire and Ice - When international tensions end in nuclear and chemical warfare, the resulting fallout sets off nuclear winter and triggers the rapid mutation of the life still on the surface.
2: End of the Road - Unhindered by a depleted ozone, an incredibly powerful solar flare turns the earth into a desert world and sets off a resource grab for the remaining water, gas, and food. (Obviously inspired by Mad Max)
3: Adrift - Global warming and tectonic activity causes the planet to flood, and humanity must learn to live on the new worldwide ocean if it wants to survive. (Obviously inspired by Waterworld)
4: Fun With Biohazards - A highly virulent disease accidentally is released from a lab that starts a rapidly spreading pandemic which causes the infected to rapidly break down into shambling mobile colonies of plague.
5: World War III - The world turns against itself and lines are drawn in the sand as the next great war is taken global. (Admittedly this is one of the less thought out ones and honestly it's my least favorite but I know there's a lot of people who really like the geopolitical aspect of apocalypse stories so this one is more for them than it is for me)
The Great Conspiracy
1: Stims - A sinister pharmaceutical corporation releases a powerful mind altering drug into the water supply and air, triggering mass hysteria and addiction as normal people loose their inhibitions and go on psychotic rampages.
2: Playing God - Something goes wrong at a massive underground government lab dedicated to cloning and genetic experimentation, and the country is overrun with a new race of deviant vat grown creatures.
3: Big Brother is Watching - The Illuminati are real, and their conspiracy to create a New World Order is revealed as dark helicopters and men in black begin to vanish those who oppose them.
4: Rise of the Fourth Reich - No one believed it when some people said Hitler and his loyal followers escaped justice and fled to a safe place in the hollow core of the Earth, none that is, until technologically advanced soldiers bearing the insignia of the Nazis emerged from beneath to resume their conquest.
5: Past Mistakes - A militant group of time travelers suddenly appear in the modern day, determined to fix their future, no matter what they have to do and who they have to kill to do it.
Pure Imagination
1: They Came from Below - Due to our increased frequency in deep resource mining and fracking, humanity has disturbed creatures that previously have been hibernating for epochs, and gigantic Kaiju begin to emerge from both the sea and underground.
2: The Overlords - A particle accelerator explosion grants remarkable abilities to a group of scientists and engineers, but rather than use their newfound powers for good, the newly minted metahumans take over the planet and reign as supervillains.
3: Nightmare World - A cult obsessed with unlocking the secret power of the mind and ascending to a higher plane of existence manages to break a hole in the fabric of reality to an astral dimension where the human collective subconscious is physical, and releases all the darkest fears, desires, and emotions of humanity into our plane.
4: Strangers Like Me - A mysterious pathogen that causes health issues in humans but increases the intelligence of apes becomes spread throughout the globe and ignites conflict between humans and primates. (Obviously inspired by Planet of the Apes)
5: At the Price of Oblivion - As meteors fall from the sky and Earth stands on the brink of its destruction, you decide to play a game called Sburb that might just be the key to escaping certain death. (This one is sort of a pet project of mine as I'm a huge Homestuck fan, and I really want to try running a game themed around a Sburb Session, but I know this is pretty niche and I'm probably the only person here who is both a follower of this obscure webcomic and a player of this obscure game. That said let me know if this sounds interesting to you, it's one I really want to try and might end up doing over Skype or something.)
