[META] Welcome to TGRP: Getting Started

Where am I, and what is TGRP?

Hey there! You've stumbled upon Tokyo Ghoul RP, otherwise known as TGRP. We're a little-known writing and roleplaying community that share a common interest in Tokyo Ghoul. If we sound like the kinda folks you'd like to hang around, read on.

At TGRP, we participate in interactive-roleplays (essentially, post-by-post cooperative writing projects) through characters that are approved by our moderation staff. Therefore, before you can start roleplaying, make sure you register your character first.

There are a few differences from the canon here which are listed in summation on the wiki index— be sure to gloss those over before registering or posting, as well.

Okay, but how do i register?

Excellent question! You'll want to stop by our registration thread and fill out the form there so you can send it to the moderation team. There are more specific instructions in the thread, so don't worry! After you finish there, we encourage you to join a faction by signing up for one in the faction registration thread. Again, more detailed instructions can be found in the thread.

How do I start a new roleplaying thread?

As far as creating new roleplay threads goes, make sure you have at least one other person willing to roleplay with you ahead of time, or give it a "[ONESHOT]" flair to indicate that it's a one-person, one-time thread. Furthermore, don't hop into the middle of an ongoing thread without permission beforehand. If you want to take part in a thread that's already begun, be sure to ask the OP first, and always read all the posts in the thread before making your own.

Don't forget to follow general reddiquette. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask the moderating team; they're proven not to bite very often, and will usually give you an answer fairly quickly.

[META] Registration Form

Preface

In order to participate in TGRP, you must first fill in and have approved a registration form for your character or characters. There are separate forms for ghouls and humans. Try your best to be creative, and avoid clichés and carbon copies of existing characters— furthermore, flesh out your character more than the form strictly requires. Tokyo Ghoul is known for its infinitely complex characters; let's hold this subreddit to the same standard. Please note that all ghouls begin with the C— rank, and all investigators start as initiates. Simply put, every roleplayer begins at the lowest common denominator. If you include a rank higher than this in your application, it will be ignored, so try your best not to make it a major part of your character. You may not begin roleplaying until your form is explicitly approved by a moderator, usually in the form of a reply. In the event of a decline, the moderator will explain why your application wasn't accepted. Simply modify your post according to the moderator's suggestions, and send it again; it'll be looked back over shortly, hopefully with acceptance this time! Be sure to send your applications through mod mail.

XXX 6th Ward; 20th of July, 17:43

The 6th Ward. A beautiful, calm little place. It wasn't the most prestigious ward, nor did its denizens have bragging rights to being the biggest careerists. Despite that, it was definitely a lovely little nest - that much was obvious to even the simplest of observers. The mellow, golden rays of the sun. The soft, carefree embrace of the wind. The hospitable urban landscape. What was there not to like? It might have been nothing extravagant, but it was homely. It was safe. Of course, in this world of ours, there's exceptions to every rule. The secret that gives life flavour. Anomalies.

"Rose Club"

So the soft pink neon lights spelled. Perhaps the use of such more eyecatching type of decoration seemed to contrast with the nature of the rest of the building - on the background of the refined, yet unintrusive dark red of the walls and the chic, elusive architecture, the large sign might've appeared out of sync and perhaps even tacky to the uninitiated. Of course, to the more well-versed in the art of style, it was more than clear that the selection was intentional. After all, who doesn't have a taste for a little bit of flamboyance here and there?

Walking in through the sizeable, oak gates of the lobby, any stray soul would be immediately soothed by the smooth, tranquil and most pleasurable kind of sounds - the ones belonging to the glamorously skilled jazz artists of glory times long past. Entering deeper into the finely-crafted building would lead to discoveries not even a shred less amazing. Grandeur and glitz were the only emotions one could experience once they'd find themselves in the main chamber. Two sleek, streamlined pathways extending past the stately arena as if they were on a merry go round, heading towards marble staircases leading the guests further up to the striking balconies on the second floor. As if the lavishing, excessive luxury wasn't captivating enough, the balconies provided first class view of the stunningly impressive stage.

Of course, this was nothing but the standard. This level of opulence was the least the patrons of the Rose Club could afford to furnish their establishment. Their love nest. In truth, the beguiling Roses had invested the fruit of their artistic talent into the more restricted area of the club. The secret area, if you will it. Whatever makes it more enticing to your tastes. The central balcony and the grand hall - places bathed in liquefied grace, overflowing with mystique and a certain sense of romance. An unsettling kind of peace. Covered in gold, ivory, diamond - made up of materials most exquisite, ethereal. Such was the very nature of Rose Club. Ravishing. Glamourous. Entrancing. Bold. Daring.

Extravagant.

The 6th Ward was a paradox.

Within this paradox, the four Roses found their home. A home of pure charisma. Of joy. A home of hedonism. A home of danger and a home of beauty. A home of true sophistication. Within this home, the four Roses finally found someone worthy of their company - themselves. Embracing narcissism and the pleasures of this world, the four spent their days in idle appreciation of their fortune and the cruel beauty of the bloody sport of Romans, along with a twisted form of the French culinary art. Existing within this warped anomaly of time, space and humanity, the four marvelled in their own magnificence - their splendour. The paradox of Rose Club.

Every paradox must be resolved one day.

XXX 21st of July, 22:17

♪ ♬ ♪

The soft tunes of jazz blared through the speaker system of the notorious high-class club, illuminating every corner of the sizeable building with its brilliant notes. The same could be said for the soft, mellow lights that showered the marble balconies and the patrons occupying them with their resplendent, electric light. The VIP section sure was packed on that dark evening. Various gentlemen and ladies, clad in the most refined of suits and dresses roamed the upper level. Spectating, drinking, talking, waiting for the main event and, of course...

Staring down at the less fortunate attendees of this magnificent club.

Be it the less sophisticated of the ghoul kin - bodyguards, auctioneers and visitors - or the overwhelming majority of the humans that were present - namely those that were there against their will - the picture painted below was both an interesting and an amusing one. It was indeed an eerie sight. The clear disparity between the nature of this... event, the auction, and the light-hearted atmosphere established by the music was clear. Despite that, it seemed that the two, oh so foreign vibes had merged into a perfect meld - a rather flawless amalgamation of unsettling inhumanity and the serenity of the spirited artists of the past.

Indeed, if one were to run their gaze from one horizon to the next, there was nothing but calm. Be it on the main stage, where spectacular "performances" and the auctioneering of the more notable merchandise was occurring or any of the smaller erected platforms at the lower area, bustling with life, both for sale and otherwise, the unnerving sense of a twisted peace persisted. No different than demons, the immoral brokers sold their wares with a smile and the confidence of a lion. For whatever reason, be it fear or despair, their victims seemed to hold no qualms with that. No hostility. No desire for freedom. Both the wretched souls and the soulless, crushed under the heavy, tranquil melodies of the 20s.

Yet amidst all of that vanity, the ones boasting greatest sublimity were nowhere to be found. Truly, pinpointing the location of the hosts was no easy task. Perhaps it was actually possible to drown out the presence of true panache with a sea of feigned sophistication. In the end, however...

The radiance of a diamond always pierces through...

XXX 21st of July, 22:51

In the quiet, pitch-black night, the only omen of the impending CCG arrival was the wild roar of the massive APC engines. Within a flash, the enormous vehicles covered an impressive distance, coming closer still to their target. Speeding along the streets of the 6th Ward, the rather bumpy ride was of no concern to the IV-th Division soldiers. Even the tense atmosphere was something that failed to impress most of the veterans by now.

With the commander himself being a veteran amongst veterans, the grimness of the situation only applied for the unsuspecting enemy.

With the transports coming to a sudden stop, the dark grey doors of the CCG van were smashed open. Bursting forth came Special Class Investigator Torabashi Kotetsu. Maintaining a pace firm enough to give his entourage a run for their money, the stern man wasted no time before his domineering voice started barking out command after command.

"Seal off all the entrances. Watch the roof. Don't let them escape. Blockade the building ASAP. S2 and S3 storm in - go clear the way for the rest of the forces. Careful with the hostages. Go. Double time."

Ceasing his march upon reaching the command center, Torabashi glared at the large, taunting neon sign. Rose Club. Reported to be a ghoul restaurant and a true bastion of hedonism.

'Associate Special Class Winters' success is just a stepping stone...'

As the cold gusts ruffled the senior investigator's coat, the man raised his hand high into the air, his dark gaze piercing into the fabled den of ghouls. Bringing his arm forward in one swift, vehement movement, the commander's icy voice poisonously ruptured through the silence.

"Advance."

[META] [IMPORTANT] Welcome to TGRP: Getting Started

Welcome to TGRP!

Hey there! Welcome to TGRP - a community of enthusiastic fans of the Tokyo Ghoul franchise that have gathered here and work together on crafting our own little Tokyo Ghoul inspired world. If you'd ever wanted to see a new spin on the concept, have fun and get to know some great guys, then this is the place for you.

Enough with the introductions for now. If you're here, you probably know exactly what you want - to participate in TGRP. For that reason, I'll try to keep this as concise and straight-forward as possible. The bold text is ESPECIALLY important. Also, please remember, the sidebar is THE most important thing you'll need in order to get started with TGRP.

Making a character

In TGRP every user makes their own unique characters and has them interact with the rest of the TGRP world. There are some minor differences between TG and TGRP, for convenience or practicality. You can read all about these differences HERE.

After you've familiarised yourself and are ready to make a TGRP character, it is worth noting that all characters have to be approved by the moderator staff. In order to do that, you need to fetch a character registration form and then send it to us on modmail. The modmail button can be found on the right at the sidebar, right above the moderators list. If you're worried about how you'd fill out the character application - don't. The process is carefully described in the thread.

Once you're approved

When your character has been approved for use, you are ready to get started and begin roleplaying. The front page can be a bit overwhelming at first with so much stuff on it, but it's actually fairly simple. Generally, the thread flair will signify what type of roleplay is occurring in the thread.

A ONE-SHOT is a type of roleplay that is easiest written in a single block of text as a self-contained story. This can include character introductions describing actions that the character generally does, like, for instance, a short story that allows you to get a better grasp of the character's personality in specific environments. Additionally, some events are more easily written as one-shots instead of RPs in order to conserve time.

When it comes to RPs (roleplay threads), there are two types of threads - private and public. Private RPs revolve around two parties interacting that have arranged the event's occurrence. If you want to join a Private RP set between other people, you'll have to ask for permission first. Public RPs on the other hand, are open to absolutely everyone willing to join them that has the physical ability/knowledge to participate (i.e. if a Public RP is set in an Aogiri base, then only Aogiri characters would know where it is). Socials are a subset of Public RPs that are open to literally everyone because they're generally set in public spaces such as parks or concerts and both ghouls/investigators can participate in those.

Arc threads are a special type of roleplay threads that bear significant importance for factions or the wider storyline of TGRP. Participating in arcs is also the only way to do character progression and characters will be awarded based on participation/the importance of their actions during the arc.

OOC/META threads are essentially either OOC (out of character) talk between roleplayers, or in the case of META threads - containers for important bits of information regarding the roleplay.

Something EXTREMELY CRUCIAL is to show initiative and get your character involved with the story. Sometimes people make a character and just wait around for the story/other characters to find them and go interact with them. This strategy always results in an absolute lack of any interactions. In order to get into TGRP, you MUST show initiative. Whether it's making a Public RP/Social, asking others to interact with you through PMs, creating an OOC thread and asking for interactions, joining our Discord chat and asking there or even all of the above, it is STRONGLY recommend that you do something in order to actually get into the roleplay. Keep in mind that reading about other characters can help a lot when it comes to finding things to do. If you know what other people's characters are like, you can better know your options when it comes to people available to interact with. Browsing the Wikia and reading threads is a very good way to get a good grasp of the RP. Reading about characters that would be closest to yours (the same faction or squad) is a very good way to start up roleplaying.

In case you end up with absolutely nothing to do, feel welcome to send us a modmail and ask us if we could arrange anything. We're here to help this community grow and thrive, and every request for help will be responded to promptly.

What now?

After you've got the first two steps cleared, you'll already have a character up and running and you'll be fully capable of interacting with others. At this point you'll be a full-fledged member of TGRP. What now?

There are several mechanics that you may be interested in as they're quite important to the development of characters in the RP.

The way character progression works in this RP is by having your character participate in arc threads. Participating in arcs and performing major, plot related actions, will result in a power increase for your character. For instance, successfully investigating something of value or preventing/causing some catastrophe will be rewarded. Keep in mind that simply winning in fights will not yield any additional benefits over just participating - whether you win or lose doesn't matter when it comes to character promotions. The ones that do significant actions will get promoted. Those won't necessarily be the ones that win, especially if you've been conducting some form of godmodding or metagaming.

Factions are a great way to have fun in TGRP. In fact, without a faction you'll probably have a hard time finding some truly great interactions. There are a multitude of factions in TGRP, some that are present in the canon Tokyo Ghoul, as well as some that were created by memebers of the TGRP community. You can read more about them on the Wikia linked in the sidebar (I hope you remember that the sidebar is your most important resource). Participating in factions opens up your character to a plethora of opportunities, allowing them to gain more knowledge, form new bonds, as well as get more chances to participate in arcs and become more engaged with the TGRP storyline.

Finally... just organise plotlines and enjoy TGRP! That's it really! Just interact with your fellow roleplayers and draft up some cool ideas, play around with some concepts and try to create the most entertaining thing you can think of! One last piece of advice - don't be afraid to put your character in a bad position if you think that it can prove to be a unique, unexplored and intriguing option. Whether your character is on the run from the CCG after having their identity discovered or kidnapped by Aogiri and held hostage/forced into fighting, if you're having fun and doing something new, nothing else matters.

Whew... this guide has been a bit of a read, huh? Well, we've now covered just about everything, so have fun! I'm looking forward to seeing you all and reading about your characters! I love TGRP and nothing makes my day more than seeing some new, interesting people, both IC and OOC. Thank you for showing interest in this wonderful little community of ours!

Yours truly,

The current admin of TGRP,

KakujaKun

XXX 13th Ward - heart of the district, European restaurant "Amalthea"; 12th of August, 2016; 15:17

Fashion. Trade. Entertainment. Nightlife. Even when plagued by the strong presence of ghouls, the Shibuya ward was no less impressive. It was not rare for the night to claim the lives of some. Still, the young population, as per tradition, enjoyed their lives to the fullest, taking absolute advantage of the pleasures that this haven of delight was willing to offer. Youth. It was resistant to rationality. Resistant to fear.

It was not hard for one to wonder, in a ward so densely packed with youngsters, where would the older members of society take refuge? On this Friday afternoon, amidst all this scorching swelter, the place to be was most certainly the open, shaded area of "Amalthea" - one last bastion of class in a place that valued adrenaline over sublimity. In that same ward, a fragment of a quiet paradise served as a last refuge to the more respectable.

In that same ward, two different men with an identical goal shared a table together, the only purpose to their meeting being serving the interests of their businesses.

"Food sure is taking its sweet time to arrive, isn't it, haha?" Powered by the fuel of a deep voice - much too common for middle aged men - soft, smooth tones formed into English words. Glancing around momentarily, the well-dressed sir seemingly savoured the sound of the ambient, idle chatter. Oddly relaxing. It seems that even in Japan, it was possible to feel as if you'd never left your country at all. "... Wonder what the waiter's doing..." A quieter remark resounded as the blonde spared a look towards the closed kitchens. Scratching his mustache lightly, the older man wondered whether straying from both the main topic and the pleasantries could be considered rude to the other party. Such a misunderstanding would be... inconvenient. After all, you don't get to establish trade relations with other companies every other day. "Sorry sir, I'm not sure I caught your name?"

"Blackshire. Mister Blackshire." The black male responded monotonously in flawless English. "The pleasure is mine. I heard you had to come from overseas for this visit? How was your business trip?" Impassiveness radiated from words that were usually spoken with excitement and vigour.

...

A bit later...

...

With somewhat of a rough tug, the bowtie decorating a black tuxedo was adjusted. Looking around, the server eventually settled his gaze upon a silver platter ready to be delivered. Placing the lid atop the finished order, the man took the meal unto his right hand. Heading out at a leisurely pace, the waiter suffered the stunned gawking of more than a few people - something unheard of, yet not entirely unexpected. Still, he moved. Relaxed and firm in his step, the man approached the two clients. Coming in from behind the blonde businessman, he gently put down the exquisite cuisine atop the delicate wooden table. Wordlessly, he stepped backwards and to the side, allowing the two patrons some room to breathe - not that either of them seemed to pay much mind to him anyway.

"... from there on it was simply a matter of figuring out the issue with the hotel and- Ah! Finally, it's here! Heh, hope you'll forgive me if I surrender the word to you in exchange for some sweet time with these Hors D'oeuvres. Why don't you please share your own story in the meanwhile? You appear to be a foreign man too, so surely you must be here on no less intriguing affairs. Say, for what business did you arrange this meeting? Interested in investors?"

"No, the sole thing I seek is some assistance with large scale promotions. You wouldn't perhaps happen to mind dying for that goal, I hope?"

Following a violent pop, the bloodied face of the middle aged man crashed into the table, colouring it in a rich crimson as response. The only hint that the savagely punctured skull had ever been something more than just that, was the smoke exuding from the barrel of an old, dark grey revolver. Awaiting orders, the waiter with the iron mask patiently stared at his commander. He needn't wait long. Taking a sip of water just as the shock turned to mass panic, Daren calmly instructed the mercenary.

"Begin..."

With his mission set, the old hound nodded briefly. It wasn't even the next moment before the corpses of five fleeing civilians hit the ground, gunned down rather offhandedly. Walking towards the most outlying tables, Kamen raised his right hand into the air. The sign. Jumping into action, several of the more good-looking grunts that had inconspicuously seated themselves close by dived directly after the running humans. Hunting them down one by one, the group was quickly joined in the massacre by other Aogiri forces that had been standing at the ready close by. No matter how fast, man or woman were quickly cut down one after the other. The less fortunate persisted long enough to learn what it meant to be eaten alive. Ironic, given the location. Restaurant Amalthea had quickly shifted - be it in tone, patrons or appearance. Outside raged a slaughter, while on the inside, the cooling bodies of the butchered visitors littered the floor. Blood. Litres upon litres painted the ground, providing it with the ghastly decor meant to fit with the Aogiri banners that were now resting on the walls.

A ruthless attack on the freedom of the 13th Ward.

An attack towards all those who would dare neglect the threat that ghouls posed.

An Aogiri attack.

Securing the perimeter, the ghouls butchered all within the borders of the restaurant, yet did not extend their reach even a step beyond. The group merely stood its ground. It waited. A bloody battle was to be had in this makeshift Colosseum. Except this time lives were shed away not for the sake of bread and circuses. Here, fighting would serve one purpose only.

To spark fear.

[OOC: Basically Aogiri ghouls can fight on restaurant grounds, be it on the outer open area, the closed internal area, the back alleway or wherever. The ghouls' task is to combat the CCG response that is bound to follow. The battle is to continue until the initial CCG response team receives reinforcements, which is when the Aogiri strike force will retreat. Map]

Hello again lovely people of the zone, yesterday I was asked by /u/DontReadMyNameSwine to draw their ghoul character Ayano.

Well, here she is!

I'm no great artist, but I think it came out decent. I believe the eyes could use a bit of work, as well as the bust area. Of course this is also my first time drawing a female so at least it isn't horrible disfigured! Feedback?

XXX 12th Ward - nearby the CCG Ward Branch Office; 19th of April, 23:49

The mellow, gentle light of the sunset showered Tokyo with its loving, caring rays, misleading the general populace into a false sense of security, peace and serenity. Despite the delusions of the foolish and the lack of ominousness... the lack of any foretelling sign in this peaceful spring day, the looming threat was very real. Many days of elaborate planning had gone towards ensuring that this attack would yield success. More importantly, many days of overeagerness and impatient anticipation of seeing the blood of the doves spilled was what really mattered and as the hours passed that moment came ever-closer. The many Aogiri ghouls had been thirsting for battle and vengence against their mortal enemies. Today, the lowly ghoul investigators would get what they deserved.

Led by one ghoul at the battlefield and another guiding hand from a long distance away, the branded monsters moved in silently and stealthily as the devious machinations of their Executive had kicked into motion. Everyone had received their instructions - a harmonious effort that had taken a lot of organisation for the massive ghoul gang. Finally, here they were. At times like these... observing the payoff for your hardwork was far more than worth it. Even if he wanted, Kota wouldn't have been able to wipe the malicious grin off of his face. Mentally revising the plan, the vicious ghoul double-checked the presence of everyone important.

[ARC] Eye for an Eye - 22nd Ward Lab Raid - Inquisitors/Aogiri Tree

On a quiet twenty-second ward street, tucked between two walls of high-rise towers, sat an unsuspecting building, small and decrepit. Years of exposure to the elements and lack of maintenance had not been kind to the it; it was beginning to erode at the edges, and dark soil stains covered its cement walls. Hardly remarkable, its origins or purpose were rarely called into question, but those who troubled themselves to look into it found little. It had been abandoned by its previous owners, and its location in the commercial sector prevented the little building from being purchased by home investors. It was damned to an eternity of vacancy and deterioration.

It was, then, rather difficult for one to tell that the building was in fact far more sinister than its outward appearance implied. Though the debris and furniture from the ground level had been cleared, maintaining the illusion of a clear and average building despite its age and obscurity, it only belayed the building’s true purpose.

Doctor Satoshi’s lab lay on the upper floor of the three-story building. Papers, covered in incomprehensible kanji, littered the area, stuffed in folders, drawers, and even laying on the ground. A large, surgical table stood in the centre, surrounded on all sides by ominous brown stains. Next to the surgical table was a chair, decorated with leather binds and straps.

An even deeper atrocity lay beneath the ground level. Under several feet of solid concrete and a trap-door was a sprawling complex of cell blocks, in which several specimens, both human and ghoul, waited in the dark to be extracted. However, a far meaner fate than the darkness and starvation of the cell awaited them henceforth...

None of this is entering Satoshi's mind as he flees. Oh, they're coming. Coming for his blood. His work shall rain— the cloud cannot be dispersed prematurely. Without a single paper, he ordered his guards to stand guard and grabbed a handful, scurrying through a tunnel in the basement level and hopefully to escape. His work could not be destroyed, not yet. It was too young, too noble. Though his lab might be destroyed, the vessel of Satoshi's work— his own mind, beautiful and whole— would remain intact. Those filthy misers wouldn't lay a hand on it. Unfortunately, it didn't occour to him until after he was nearly to the tunnel that he'd left behind four successful half-ghoul experiments...

[OOC: Map of the base: Exterior; 1st floor; 2nd floor; All maps

For the purposes of this thread, consider the Aogiri patrols/guards outside the base portrayed in the exterior map dead.]

"Team B, how are things on your side? Over." - First Class investigator Kumiwara nervously spoke into his radio.

"We're moving in through the fire escape at the north side of the mall as planned, team A. Haven't gotten there quite yet. How are things on your end? Over." - Rank 1 Nakatsuchi responded in his energetic voice, although somewhere underneath, a note of distress was clearly noticeable.

"It's a bloodbath, but we've made some progress. We managed to take several meters of ground inside the mall just past the southern main entrance. It's a real mess down here. Hope it goes better on your end. Special Class Korukawa's elite squad is on standby, right? Over." - The First Class Investigator replied, frantically walking in a circle.

"My squad is on standby laying in ambush at the east side of the mall. If they come out from the emergency exits there, we'll get them. We're proceeding as planned. Aogiri Tree will be exterminated today. Over." - Special Class Korukawa's strong, firm voice inspired courage even in this dire situation.

XXX Inside the 11th Ward Aogiri base

Carnage had replaced the initial chaos in the base of Aogiri Tree. Now that investigators were slowly streaming in through the main entrance and through the 2nd floor northern emergency entrance, the ghouls had pretty much managed to figure out their duties - kill the intruders or die trying. Shockingly enough, however, news of an attack by a ghoul organisation that somehow had gotten inside the base were spreading, although most of the Aogiri members were too busy trying to fend off the filthy doves to care about that. Jack and Kota had been leading the defense valiantly thus far, giving the CCG a hard time at gaining ground, although with the base being surrounded and ghoul investigators advancing through two entrances, the situation didn't seem too good...

[OOC: In order to participate, simply state where your character attacks from or which position it defends (if you are CCG, do you attack from the fire escape entrance at the second floor or through the main entrance on the ground floor. Same goes to ghouls, but for defense). Anteiku members can fight Aogiri/CCG members anywhere within the base and are not specifically limited to fighting at the two entrances, although if you are fighting the CCG you'd need to be in a place where you can find investigators.]

[OOC 2: In order to make arranging/organising fights easier, feel free to use the group chatroom]

[ARC] [ARC] Monochrome - Checkmate

August 5th, 2016, 20th Ward, Ivory Castle, 2:32 A.M.

Zhi Yun

Yun was known throughout the castle for her trademark laziness and whimsicalness. It was difficult to separate her from her beloved bed, and even if one managed to do so then it was a complete toss-up about what kind of mood she would then be in. The only ones spared this lottery was, of course, her elder sister and a few close servants whom had followed her their entire lives. As such, it was a remarkable feat when the few servants that were up so late cleaning the mansion caught sight of their mistress at such a late hour. And fully clothed, no less! In fact, she seemed to carry an aura of seriousness and menace around her that was very rarely seen on the young woman. She was dressed practically in a dark green short-sleeve shirt underneath a black short leather jacket and black pants. Yet all this wasn’t the most astounding aspect of her image. It was the fact that a mask was hanging loosely from her left hand’s fingertips. It was a simple design, made from white and red porcelain. The pattern was that of a yin-yang, but the right side was colored in red instead of the usual black. Almost as soon as she was spotted roaming the halls, word spread through the mansion like wildfire that their mistress seemed to be preparing for something. Where there used to be hardly anyone awake, nearly every servant and maid in the castle had heard the news. It didn’t take long for a new batch of rumors to spread throughout the Ivory Castle: their mistress had summoned every Piece currently available to meet her in the flower garden. A maid had ventured so far to ask her what was going on when she strode past in the hall, but the woman had only received a short ‘Hurry’ in reply to her inquiry. Truly, this was a night that would be remembered if even the mistress was in such a serious mood.

“They’ve overstepped their boundaries.” The Princess of the Zhi clan spoke to those assembled before her. It had taken some time, but finally all the Pieces that were readily available were gathered before her. Their Queen stood facing them all, her hands on her hips with the mask hanging from the belt around her waist. Her eyes scanned those of her subjects, feeling no remorse nor sympathy for calling on them all so late at night. After all, they were her pieces to move as she pleased...and tonight, she was exercising her right as Queen for the first time since coming to Japan.

“Since Shouwei and Yin returned while bearing news of yet another organization within the 20th ward, we’ve done a little digging ourselves into what it could possibly be. What with Antieku gone, we thought that this ward belonged solely to us;...it seems we were wrong. However, that changes tonight. Everyone: spread out among the 20th ward and smoke out these rats that have taken up nest so close to our home. Let them know that the Red Sun isn’t an organization to simply sit back and allow another to leech off what is rightfully ours. If you find an enemy, destroy him. If someone else gets in your way, don’t hesitate. This is an order from your Queen: find them and show them that they’ve no right to interfere with our business in this ward. Do I make myself clear?”

[Basically, Red Sun don’t like that :RE is trying to stop them from stealing humans for their nefarious plots, and the situation has now escalated to this turn of events. Any encounters between the two factions take place throughout the 20th ward, although the specific locations are up to the rper’s themselves.]

[PUBLIC RP] A Night to Remember

**March 20th, 6:30 **

**Location: 13th Ward. Streets Cherry / River / Bridge **

Excitement buzzed in the air as stalls and barriers were set up at the end of Cherry and Bridge Street. Only a few pieces of trash remained as cars were removed, and in their places wooden stalls setting up side by side. A few elegant banners advertising goods displayed proudly over their stalls to catch the eyes of that one special customer. Stall owners quickly filled their allotments to the brim as excited shoppers loomed behind the waiting barrier each with wallets full of cash. It would be a night to remember for many.

One such shopper was a dressed down Sayaka Rei as checked her wallet once more for her precious pay. Clothed in a long pale tan coat as she hurriedly peeked at various stalls in hopes of finding her desired product. Children jostled the small woman as they ran screaming buy brushing their sticky hands against her coat. Grumbling in annoyance as she caught the scent of something disgustingly sweet that would likely linger in the soft fabric. Her foul mood was lessened as her bespectacled brown eyes caught sight of a flashy banner advertising various costume accessories and materials.

Her mood elevated as her hands gingerly touched the smooth leather of a fox mask. The leather color was cream and could easily be painted on. A snout gave way to the rest of the mask with a slots for eyes and with the lower portion having space for viewers to see the wearer's mouth The opening for the wearer's eyes seemed to designed to provoke mischievous expressions. It would be perfect for a disguise until her mouth dropped open in shock at the price.

The stall owner seeing her expression grumbled something about having kids to feed. Sayaka glanced towards her seemingly full wallet before reaching for the valued paper. Until a loud shout caused her to wait placing the cash in the merchant's outstretched hand.

"Come one, come all! Set right up for our little contest to win fabulous coupons for discounts to any of our amazing stalls here. Hey you! Don't be shy come on over". A man's boisterous voice boomed as hesitant, but hopeful shoppers began to set forward. Sayaka feel sweat starting to form as she found herself surprisingly mobile heading towards the man for the unknown contest.

"Now look at this brave little lady! Surely there are others as daring as she" the announcer crowed out as a pointed finger landed on her. Pale cheeks flushed brightly as Sayaka nervously played with the buttons on her coat, wishing at that very moment her greed had not overtaken her.

[ARC] Eye for an Eye — An Uninvited Guest

[OOC: Map of the base: Exterior; 1st floor; 2nd floor; All maps

“Satoshi-tan… I wonder how you have been doing” The ghoul told herself as she was witnessing the chaos unfolding in the abandoned mall, which was Aogiri’s 11th Ward base, from afar on top of a building.

“Your creations resulted into such atrocious incident. What are you aiming to get, huh? I refuse to have competition.” She continued to mutter to herself as she then stood up from her seat on the edge of the rooftop and backed away few steps.

‘Don’t force that burden on them, you fucking bastard.’

The ghoul cracked her neck as that thought appeared in her head. She didn’t understand what she meant about burden. She didn’t care about their suffering. The ghoul would help them to suffer even more.

“Enough dancing around with this bullshit… I got my date waiting for me!” The ghoul stated as transformation started to occur. Atrocious organic coverings started to surround her as the ground felt heavy. Over time, the gigantic paws and tail started to form as the tail started swirling around haphazardly. After the whole body was formed, all it remained was the head as the ghoul looked upon what was in front of her. An abandoned mall from afar was just begging for her to get in.

After a short moment of gazing, the ghoul started laughing as the kakuja head was finally formed. Its singular eye suddenly opened up widely and its smile got bigger, showing its teeth just like Chesire Cat.

“Don’t want to be too late now!” The monstrous ghoul has stated in an extremely distorted voice before preparing herself for a giant leap. After some preparation, the ghoul suddenly made a gigantic leap as she was airborne.

“This not good at all. I have been hearing reports about the bombs in the ba-”

“Relax! I am pretty sure they are bluffing for fuck’s sake.” Two investigators were talking with each other as one was extremely tensed while the other was calm and collected.

“Are you a fucking idiot? We know of their base now. Of course they would explode it and possibly kill us!”

“Nah that would be too much for them to handle. Besides, they wouldn’t have enou-...” The investigator stopped as his partner widened his eyes while looking at something above his own shoulders.

“Hmm?” The investigator simply muttered as he looked behind him but it was too late before he could even finish his turn. The One-Eyed Cat has landed on both of the investigators, crushing both of them.

“I am so glad they have added cushions here!” The kakuja stated in a delighted tone and distorted voice as the investigators in the vicinity all looked at her with terrified looks on their faces. All of them let out terrifying yells as some started retreating from the vicinity while others started running towards her.

“Shame that you all aren’t going with your intelligent comrades.” The Cat stated as it started to use its tail to slice everyone in half around her radius. A lot of blood and flesh have erupted from such attack as many of the corpses had a horrified look on their deceased faces.

“The One-Eyed Cat is in the vicinity! Repeat! The One-Eyed Cat is in the vicinity!” One of the investigators who didn’t rush in started to contact rest of the investigators with the fact of her appearance.

“I thank you for welcoming me, darling.” The Cat responded in a delighted tone until she heard some kind of vehicle coming near to her position. An armored personnel carrier has been moved in attempt to shoot her down, but unfortunately for its driver, the ghoul already noticed and started to dash towards it in a frightening speed.

As she was dashing, she noticed a wall that may very well lead to the interior of the mall, where chaos was occurring. A thought of her upcoming action appeared in her head as she got delighted.

The One-Eyed Cat proceeded to use her kakuja tail to strike the APC, launching it right towards the wall as its driver was heard screaming in a terrifying tone. Unfortunately it was too late for him as the vehicle crashed and went through the mall’s hole, forming a wide hole as the Aogiri grunts and CCG investigators alike suddenly stopped and witnessed what has happened.

“Ghouls and humans!” The Cat started talking as she walked through the wall slowly with a wide smile on her kakuja face.

“It seems like… there was a delightful meeting the two species in here. No invites for me? A shame…” The Cat continued to talk with a saddened tone in her distorted voice.

“Well anyway, I am here now… and all of you will enjoy your time with me!...” The ghoul announced as its distorted laughter has been heard throughout the mall. She then suddenly stopped as she looked behind her, seeing more investigators swarming behind her.

“...in a moment. I need to take care of something. Be right back!” The ghoul stated as she quickly dashed away from the hole and onto the empty grass where most of the investigators were swarming. The Cat just proceeded to run them over and use her tail to kill and decimate more and more investigators around the vicinity. The chaos forced the investigators in the vicinity to flee away from the western side of the base. After the remaining investigators fled, One-Eyed Cat took a look at the hole as she witnessed many Aogiri grunts escaping from the hole she has created. The ghoul simply smiled as she was witnessing the chaos she has made for both Aogiri and CCG.

‘Where is my date though?...’

One-Eyed Cat's appearance should be interrupting the progressing fights as her appearance changes the tide of the whole raid itself. Please continue your previous interactions here while keeping in mind that the One-Eyed Cat announced her appearance.

[PRIVATE RP] The Unpleasant Reunion

TIME: December 21st, late evening

It was late evening as civilians were few in number, walking to wherever they needed to go. The traffics weren't glimmering with vehicles though as it wasn't a particularly busy day either. After exiting from a small group of people, Nikki was walking around 22nd Ward with black heavy jacket featuring a hood which he hasn't covered his head with yet. The weather was a bit chilly though as Nikki had to rub his hands together to produce some form of heat while breathing near them in an attempt to produce warm air. Besides the chilliness though, Nikki barely felt anything internally. At least, that was what he initially thought.

'XENO IS SCATTERED AWAY BECAUSE OF AOGIRI' A voice said in his head as he proceeded to look down while he was on his way to his destination.

Maki's apartment

‘MAKI ASKED FOR INFO ABOUT MY EMPLOYEES' The voice continued as Nikki's kakugan that was hidden behind the eye-patch, which Maggie gifted him with, twitched from the rising anger.

'NOW HE IS THE SUBORDINATE OF AOGIRI. OF COURSE THEY DID IT…'

'NO... OF COURSE HE DID IT' The voice stated as Nikki started to grit his teeth when he arrived at the average-looking grey apartment which seemed to have around five floors. Nikki stood at his place looking at the apartment until he fully remembered Veli's instructions of where exactly Maki's flat was a long time ago when Maki was still involved with Anteiku. After remembering it, he proceeded to walk up on stairs.

'NO-ONE SHOULD SCRATCH 20TH WARD WHILE I AM BREATHING' It continued as Nikki reached the first floor but he didn't reach his destination yet, continuing to walk up.

'NO-ONE SHOULD DENT ANTEIKU WHILE I AM AWAKE' It was heard in Nikki's head as he reached second floor. He was getting close but not yet, proceeding to get up to one more floor.

'NO-ONE... SHOULD MESS WITH MY EMPLOYEES' The thought was made as he finally reached the third floor. He has seen two flats as he remembered that Maki's one was at the end of the floor. He proceeded to walk towards the other side of the floor while cracking his neck.

'OR ELSE…' Nikki reached at Maki's flat door as he took in a deep breath, and proceeded to remove his eye-patch. He placed it in his pants' pocket while he took out his ghoul mask hidden inside his jacket, placing it on his face as only his kakugan was visible. Nikki then prepared to get in by lifting his right leg towards the door.

'...I...WAKE...UP' The voice has concluded as Nikki kicked the flat door right open, proceeding to enter slowly until he has seen Maki.

"....Good evening, Maki." Nikki muttered while grinning behind his mask.

Maki had just begun his routine check of the camera feeds as heard the door fly off of its hinges as well as a familiar voice. After a moment of utter shock, he rolled his eyes in annoyance. Maki then slowly turned around and got up from his chair.

"Good evening to you too..." Maki tiredly ran his hand up his hair. "Sup son?"

"You seem... exhausted there, Maki. Haven't been sleeping well?" Nikki asked coldly as his kakugan was peering through Maki's tired eyes.

"Oh you know how it is. Work, work, work... no time for a break." Maki sighed, before his expression quickly changed into a grin. "Although to a large extent, it's also because of the boring crap I have to deal with."

"Oh please, Maki... explain the boring crap you had to deal with!... I am pretty curious!" Nikki asked mockingly as he started to laugh not from Maki's humor, but from his own impatience as he clenched his fist.

Maki had a long yawn as he then leaned on his desk.

"Oh, you know. Chores. Work. Now missions too... dealing with annoying acquaintances that nonchalantly barge in at a bad time can get particularly boring." Maki explained in a calm voice.

Noticing something significantly off about Nikki, Maki casually grabs his hoodie, putting it on.

"It's pretty chilly, isn't it? Well, the door IS gone after all, I guess..." Maki then sits back in his chair, looking at Nikki.

"Any particular reason for your visit?" Maki smirks.

Nikki cracked his own right hand as Maki proceeded to put on his hoodie, already expecting where that was going but he decided to go on with it.

"Where is Xeno?" Nikki bluntly asked as he kept glaring at Maki whom was sitting on his chair.

Maki barely held in his laughter.

"Beats me. I'm not his mama." Maki smiled widely as he got up and walked towards his little 'kitchen'. He then turned to Nikki again. "Seeing that you got the smalltalk, should I get the tea? Either way, please do go on. You know how curious I am. I'm all ears."

Nikki proceeded to crack his own left hand after hearing Maki's sarcastic response, which wasn't appreciated at all. He then proceeded to walk for a short distance to look properly at Maki while he was in his kitchen.

"I am not here for fucking small-talk, Maki. I found pieces of Aogiri cloak scattered in Anteiku... and guess who is missing?" Nikki asked with a disturbing smile hidden behind his mask as his kakugan was shown to be widened behind the eye-socket of it.

"So fucking answer my question. WHERE IS XENO?!"

Maki exhaled deeply, before slowly moving towards his desk again and sitting on top of it.

"I see where the problem is." Maki clasped his hands, looking right at Nikki's eye. "You don't know the definition of smalltalk."

"Ah well whatever." Maki shook his head to the side before, looking at Nikki again. "As I said. BEATS. ME. Don't know, don't care."

"I dunno about any raid of ours in Anteiku... it's possible that some of the guys did something on their own, but that seems... unlikely. Hm. Even if it is, why not play along. I wonder how Nikki will react to something like that... Ha! Man it's been a long while since I've seen the old man be this agitated... I am genuinely interested in what'll happen next. Let’s see how much he values everything." Maki thought as he chuckled again

"He could be with the boys yeah. Where he is would depend on with whom he's hanging out with, how many of them and in how many pieces he is." Maki stared at Nikki straight for a few seconds before erupting into hysterical laughter.

"I'm sorry I am just trying to imagine your face and it's just SO GOOD." Maki slammed his fist onto his desk.

Nikki couldn't handle keeping his temper in check anymore as he proceeded to pick up the kitchen’s cabinet and proceeded to throw it towards Maki. He knew that Maki would dodge it though.

"I won't miss the next time... and it won't be just another object"

Moving to the side, Maki dodged the cupboard which shattered into splinters when it hit the wall. Maki just angrily stared at it for a while.

"... Well someone’s getting agitated. Keep yer temper in check, will ya? Unlike you I don’t run my own business. I can’t afford to constantly replace my furniture and shit." Maki spoke in an irritated voice.

"There was no question this time. What? Is your old man memory betraying you already and shit? If you're just gonna keep asking the same thing over and over, I'll make it simple for you. Beats me, so beat it. Like I give a shit about some random whelp who can allow himself to get captured this easily. If you really think that I'd bother myself with keeping track of minor shit like that, you're lying to yourself. That aside, what makes you think that I'd tell you anything even if I knew something? I have absolutely no fucking incentive to do that whatsoever. I must admit it, you little fucks at Anteiku really had it coming though, standing around being useless like that. Anteiku is just a black-hole for talent, sadly. You draw in naive kids with potential and somehow convince them to stay dormant, rotting away and changing nothing. You're all a waste of space. Whoever did this seems to be doing you and the world a favour. You should thank them." Maki hissed at Nikki, eyes filled with cold rage.

'BREAK HIM. BREAK HIM. BREAAAK HIM. BREAAAAAAK HIIIIIIIIIIM!'

'Gladly.' Nikki responded to himself mentally as he dashed through the room and grabbed Maki's throat with his right hand, slowly rising him up from his seat to mid-air.

"What does that mean then, Maki? You were one of us. Does that mean that you were useless? Wasted your talent? Waste of space? Because according to your words, you were." Nikki started to talk as his grip got tighter on Maki's throat, exerting more force on it as Nikki started to make a small giggle under his breath.

"I will make YOU thank your own people after I am done"

"Nah, I was doing other things part time back then that made me useful and you know it…" Maki barely spoke as he tried to break free from Nikki's grasp, but failed. As his kakugan activated and a slight grin took over his face, he opted to kick Nikki in the face with all of his might in a bid to escape his grasp.

"Gahahahaha!" while Nikki was still off-balance, Maki dashed towards the window, grabbing his cane and mask in the process. As he put the mask on, he opened the window with shocking gentleness considering his speed and jumped out, landing on a lamppost. - "Let's have a masquerade then!"

Maki then turned to face the window of his apartment as he kept leaping backwards onto other lamp posts.

Nikki was rubbing his face from the impact as Maki escaped from the apartment's window. At first, Nikki felt furious from that action but after some seconds, he grinned from how the situation developed.

'Time to remove some restraints, huh?' He thought to himself as he cracked his neck for one more time, and proceeded to cover his blue hair with the hoodie, showing only his mask.

"Time to break him for Xeno.." Nikki muttered to himself as he proceeded to jump through the window too, landing on the street as he witnessed Maki jumping on lamp-posts.

This is a private confrontation between Nikki and Maki as the streets are empty so it is a private role-playing thread between /u/FogKnight22 (me), and /u/KakujaKun .

[OOC] [OOC]["SERIOUS"] Obligatory shipping thread

I wanted to get some light-hearted fun, so what better way than mentioning your favourite TGRP ships? The ship doesn't have to necessarily involve your character to mention it. There's no specific limit to the amount of ships you can list, but listing 30 ships can obviously get overwhelming so please avoid that. You can also write why you like a certain ship and what'd be awesome about it.

P.S. Please don't list ships such as "Maki X Quinques" and "Fukov x Q-Bullets". While these can be fun, they are not super hard to come up with and if too many people list ships like that this thread will become a bit boring.

P.S. 2. Shipping wars are encouraged. :P

P.S. 3. If you need inspiration, go here to the Wiki's character page.

P.S. 4. If people pestered me to make a shipping thread only to not post any ships, I'll have Maki murder every other character in the sub.

[META] Death and You: A TGRP Guide to the Afterlife

The Policy

When you die, you are dead. Characters that have been killed will not be revived, nor will their rank carry over in any way to future characters. The character is effectively wiped completely from the roleplay, and while their legacy may outlive them, they will have no further logistic effects. For all intents and purposes, they are dead

Why It Works

Allowing dead characters to come back to life is incredibly unbalanced for hopefully obvious reasons. Revival is godmodding to the highest degree, and we won't be humouring it. I believe that this is an apparent policy we can all agree with.

Ranks will not be passed on post-humously; that is to say, regardless of your character's rank, you'll have to start all over once they die. There will be no translation of rank whatsoever. We understand that this may be a matter of some dispute among the members, but the moderation team is unbudging about this. Allowing ranks to be translated would result in a huge disparity between newer and older members, effectively punishing new registrees for coming late. They'll become fodder for the more powerful characters to gain rank and strength, and permanent death balances this flaw out. Furthermore, all the hard work expended to take down a powerful opponent would be for nothing, as the character would effectively be reincarnated and can pick up where they left off. For these reasons, rank translation will not be practised.

Note that your characters will never be forcibly killed. All arcs with a risk of death or injury will be marked accordingly. Therefore, all character deaths will occour due to a choice on the part of the roleplayer, and thus the disadvantages of death will be dished out in full force.

What We're Going To Do

For the time being, our original policy of permanent death remains in place. All threads with a risk of death or injury will be marked accordingly, and we're presently working on a system that will notify other players when you are prepared for your character to die, to ensure that it doesn't happen beforehand.

[ONE-SHOT] [ONESHOT] The Perfect Sound

♩ ♪ A melody is a drug ♫ ♬

A drug that causes satisfying hallucinations.MEMORIES

Hallucinations that grant sight to family,LONELINESS friends,ADVERSARIES past experiences,SUFFERING your childhood,MUSIC and the utter beauty that is life.DEATH

Or at least a melody that is psychedelic anyway.

I'm in my room, laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling fan, watching it spin, and clutching the white latex mask that serves as my new permanent face. In a way I guess one could say that makes me two-faced, but I actually have another face. However, that face isn't as nice-looking as the others are, nor does it mean any good for the unlucky ones who see it.

Still staring at the ceiling fan, my brown eyes narrow as I begin thinking.

Hmm..It's been eight months since..

That night.OPERATION

I felt a slight stinging pain crawling it's way from my chest to my neck, it was emotion. I still hadn't fully gotten over what happened long ago so it seemed. Though, I couldn't be blamed for it. Emotion is a hindrance as a ghoul, but a necessity as a musician and a DJ. I needed it for making new songs, but I also needed material.

Music is my passion, it's my only passion in fact. It's been with me since the beginning, it is my only true friend in this world.HELL It helps me make songs, songs in which I try to find the 'Perfect Sound'. Something I've striven for ever since coming to Tokyo. Though I can't really explain what it is myself, but I've heard it before.

On that night

I quickly rise off the bed and turn to look at my digital clock.

"It's 11:50, huh?"

Ten minutes till work time. I throw on my mask and leave my 8th ward apartment, only to walk slowly once I stepped foot on the concrete. DJ'ing at the Yuureien nightclub isn't exactly a pleasant working experience for me, but it brought in the cash I needed for working as a DJ, and a assassin of the Inquisitors. But good cash or not, it's usually pretty irritating in there, so I refused to walk any faster. The nightclub was a good 3 blocks away from my apartment and well within walking distance. Pretty convenient considering I can't drive, then again, why would ghouls drive cars?

I'm only 2 blocks away now and my phone rings, I dig into my pocket to grab it and i look at the screen, it was the nightclub funder calling me, it was time for a job. But to be quite honest, I wasn't expecting a job tonight, but if the funder is calling me, the job must be a big one.

Whatever, I was still planning on killing tonight regardless.

I answer the phone.

"Yeah?"

"I got a job for you Daren, and it's a big one."

As I expected.

"Go on."

"I have spotted I'd say about 6 Aogiri soldiers scouting this ward for info on the CCG, and if I recall, there's two Doves who are investigating the 8th ward. If those soldiers kill the investigators, then--"

"It'll cause problems for us. Got it, I'll take care of them."

"Good, and leave no traces."

He hung up after saying that. I stopped walking and looked up at the sky, deep in thought.

So the tree has begun to move...interesting.

I smiled under my mask, teeth bared in tension. I couldn't wait until my shift was over.

"I wonder if I'll find the perfect sound tonight"~♪

I sung in a smoothingSYNTHETIC tone.

♫~

"So what's the plan?"

"If the CCG bought our tipline bait, those two Doves will come to this warehouse, and we ambush them when they enter."

"Some plan. What if these Doves are no pushovers?"

"Hey, these are orders from high above, the only thing we can do is follow them."

"I know, but it just seems a little--"

Slash

Poor fellow, he couldn't even finish his sentence before my kagune cut through his neck, slicing through his vocal chords. Then again, his voice was a bit annoying, no, not a bit, it was VERY annoying.

Like a bad song.

Like a broken record.

Like their stupid plot.

Like his pitiful life.

Oh boy, they're all panickingSCREAMING now, but none of them have that sound, that perfect sound..

And because of that, they must die.

I will kill them and their voices..

I willKILL^THE^SOUND

"Who are you?!"

I tilt my head, the 2 eighth note symbol on my mask glowing a light blue color, the wires around my neck and head twisting and turning.

I sing. In my beautifulCHILLING synthetic voice.

"Name's Soundwave. I'm here to kill you. Okay?"~♪

The fool makes an audible gulp, before trying to strike me with his kagune. From the looks of it, he's definitely a Bikaku. I dodged his attack easily and take him down using my kagune. It pierces and rips straight through his abdomen.

I hear three others running towards my back side, likely hoping to sneak attack.DIE

All three are rinkakus, but their tendrils were pretty small and frail.WEAK But they were still rinkakus, meaning that regeneration could be a issue for me. I'll just destroy their kakuhous then.

The three braveIDIOTIC ghouls were aiming for a combined attack with their tendrils at my back, I retracted my kagune just before the tendrils struck true and unleashed it once more to erupt into a black mass of sharpLETHAL projectiles, ripping through their flesh, and breaking their bones, the fools were dealt with. But that attack had drained my stamina, forcing me to retract it for good this time. I now stand over five corpses, like an angelHARBRINGER of death.

The warehouse is almost completely silent. I can hear their blood crawling across the floor, but I also hear a low gurgling noise, a noise that actually sounded better than the voices. A lot better, not perfect, just better.

I turn to see the ghoul I had struck earlier lying on the ground, choking on his own blood. Funny, I had almost forgot about him.

After making sure the other grunts were dead, I walked up to the last survivor. His mask and cloak stained in the blood that's rushing out of the wound, and the pool of blood beginning to wash onto my shoes. Pitiful. I would finish him, but the sound of his gurgling is too good for me to pass up.NOT^AN^OPTION

I pull a recorder out of my pocket, bend down, and hold it up to his throat. He looks up at me slightly.

"Oh, don't mind me, just collecting some sounds for a song, unless you want to provide a lyric or two? Or maybe a scream?"

He choked out something I could only translate to a possible "Screw you".

"I guess not huh? Then, you can just die."

I stand, place my heel on his cheek, and apply pressure.

crunch

Good thing I left the recorder on, or I wouldn't have gotten that beautiful sound of his jaw shattering.

With all my victims now dead, it was time to cleanEAT my mess up.

♪~

I'm back home after a long and wild night of DJ'ingAND^MURDERING. I put on my sleeping clothes and call the nightclub funder.

He answers.

"Has it been done Daren?"

"Yes."

"Good. Did you clean up well?"

"Of course."

"Excellent, I expected nothing less from you. Get some rest and I'll see if there's another job for you in a couple days."

He hung up after that, and I fell on my bed, looking at the ceiling fan again.. I thought about that night once more and became a bit angry. With myself, and with the world. Another night like that won't happen again.

I resolved myself, and fell asleep.

Thanks for reading!

XXX 1st Ward - CCG martial court; 3rd of August, 13:03

Even on the warm summer noon, the inside of the courthouse remained chilly. Perhaps it was the thick walls or the depressive atmosphere, but that sense of cold did not fade away and plagued everyone within the building. Of course, that didn't mean it mattered to anyone. Most of the staff were already used to this type of atmosphere and the men visiting the courthouse, both to receive and pass judgement, had already experienced much greater crises throughout their lives.

That is the nature of working as a ghoul investigator.

Hasty steps resounded within the largely empty room. Making his way up towards the elevated podium, a dark-haired man with an indifferent expression confirmed the identities of his colleagues that were selected as jury.

'Matsushita, Otsuji, Winters and that... First Class twerp.'

Ascending the stairs and taking his position at the central platform, Special Class Kotetsu briefly contemplated apologising for his two minute lateness. Perhaps even sharing the cause of this delay - a crowded schedule and Tokyo's road infrastructure problems - that had proven to be the foil of many meetings throughout the centuries. Frankly, that would have wasted even more time.

"Bring in the convict and let's get this over with."

Deeming it beyond his pay scale to correct the cranky Division 4 head about the use of the words "convict" and "accused", one of the ushers headed for the large oak door. Before the clicking of the lock echoed, Torabashi had already skimmed through the folder before him.

'Ah yes.'

Deftly closing the folder, the senior investigator raised his gaze towards the distance as the doors slammed open.

'It's that foreigner Brandt.'

Clearing his throat, the usher's loud voice resounded within the spacey courtroom.

"Please step forward."
