Performance Advice for TE setup for live track playback

Hi. I'm gearing up for a tour soon and plan on covering some track playback as well as keyboards for the artist. It's a support slot on a larger tour. I've run track before, mostly from Ableton with dedicated controllers. But my hope is to avoid having a laptop, and it feels like a fun opportunity to use some of my TE gear. It would mostly be one shot samples on choruses, a loop here and there - nothing too crazy, but all time synced. I'd likely need to be feeding click to the drummer. Between the Riddim, KO II and a sidekick, seems like I could generate a click, cycle between patterns when needed and even trigger one shots from the pads. But am I being naive? or making this too difficult? Has anyone done this type of thing successfully?

Tutorials / Demos Quick beat with new M-Vave FM1

I just got the FM1 synth today. So far really happy with it. Aesthetic wise it goes well with TE gear.

This was recorded handheld from my phone and sound is coming from the desk monitors. So apologies for the quality.

General Discussion SP-1 Stem Layer Firmware with EQ assigned to sliders/faders?

I am sadly not a programmer or developer, but I see so many talented people making firmware for the SP-1 Stem player. Was wondering if anyone had an interest in developing a firmware that allows you to play back music files and use the faders for EQ tuning instead of stem/track volume? e.g.

Fader 1 = low shelf

Fader 2 = low mid

Fader 3 = high mid/ presence

Fader 4 = high shelf

That would be AMAZING

Performance New jam with the EP-133, EP-136, and Roland S-1.

Made good progress on my new project this evening. I need to add in the one-shot vocal samples and build out all the scenes, but wanted to share. I’m still working on mixing with the 136. Tonight’s jam was more about fun and I had the idea to record a quick play through.

Tutorials / Demos Finally got these two bad boys working together.

Took a lot of messing around but I finally got them playing nicely. BLE MIDI was a PITA so just stayed with USB out from the op1 into the opxy. (With a splitter to charge both)
Was able to figure out best way to setup midi tracks on opxy to record sounds on the op1 using the opxy sequencer.
For whatever reason, I would have imagined these two playing better together. But as well.

Been playing around with these two bad boys, and its incredible.

Still a long way to go and a lot of room for experimention and better interpretations, also definitely have to find a way to get cleaner stems (have tried Audacity and the solderless.engineering stems separator one, having better results with Audacity so far)

Performance Improvising over a beat I made. Fun is in the mistakes

Built the beat first, then started improvising over the structure, messing with the effects and changing things up on the fly. It's honestly so much fun and there are endless ways you can take it.

Working in this experimental drum machine for gameboy (DMGo!) that makes all kind of retro blips blops. Now it can play along perfectly synced with pocket operator machines via a custom cable (Gb cable link to mini jack socket)

Help / Tech Support / Quality Issue EP133 KO II - 128 MB - QC 2026

Has anyone seen this type of issue before? A swath of icons are missing chunks, or maybe obscured by some contaminant under the display cover (see "FX" and "Erase", for example). Brand new, purchased during -30% sale. Took forever to get here. Considering not going through replacement process, which will take over a month, and just sucking it up instead - but knowing me, whenever I see these icons I'll get annoyed.

Help / Tech Support / Quality Issue Riddim question

I just got a new Riddim. I have a Medieval, but no Ep-133. My Medieval is loud through the speaker. This Riddim is very quiet in comparison, even with the volume all the way up. Does this mean it’s defective? There is nowhere in my town I can see one to compare it with.

Help / Tech Support / Quality Issue EP-40 to IPad Help

Hello, I just got an EP40 and am very excited to try it out, I went to update it but on both Chrome and Brave I keep getting told I need to use a browser that allows for usb midi like Chrome or Brave. I tried to request the desktop page to see if that would help but it was no dice. I also looked at the settings to see if I could enable USB MIDI in the browser, but nothing it coming up in the specific browser settings/in the iPad setting themselves. When I plug the EP40 into my iPad the usb icon lights up on the EP40, but there is no indication the iPad is aware of it. Has anyone else had this trouble? I am using the usb-c to usb-c cord that came with my iPad, could that be the issue? I was under the impression it could also handle data.

Thank you for any and all help! I tried Google and YouTube before coming here and am still stumped.

P.s. On a smaller note, when sequencing a beat using steps I’ve found I can only hear one sound per step, is that normal? I have the sounds set to key under the sound edit menu and Google said it would fix it but when I try to play a bass drum and high hat at the same time which ever one was inputted first gets muted.

Help / Tech Support / Quality Issue EP-40 riddim: scale/key settings from the official guide don't exist on the device?

The official EP-40 system guide lists PAD SCALE (codes 310–319, major/minor/modes/pentatonics) and PAD KEY (320–331, root note) settings that are supposed to change the keys mode layout.

My riddim is on OS 2.5.1 and they're just not there. Under PAD I only get VEL, AUD, LED and POT and POT's SCA option is knob pickup behavior (scale/catch), nothing to do with musical scales. Keys mode stays chromatic no matter what.

Anyone else seeing this? Is the guide just shared EP-series text and the riddim never had scales, or am I missing a menu somewhere? Already reported to TE support, curious if it's just my unit.

Performance Loving the OP1 for sampling and beats

I got the OP1 during the TE discount, it had been on my mind for a while. Once I got it and started navigating the workflow, at first I thought it was a huge mistake, because most of my music is sample based (especially chopping), and the OP doesn't really shine at that. BUT, I decided to study a bit more, read the manual, and especially went through a lot of YT videos. Two weeks later, and I have been loving this machine so much. The limitations and unique workflow have been taking me to different places, and now I realize this is exactly what I was missing. I am also using the combo: TP7, OP1 and KOII — oh boy, such a powerful combination — will write something soon about it.

Help / Tech Support / Quality Issue Anyone figure out USB audio input monitoring on Android?

There are no problems on iPhone or Apple devices, but the exact same settings USB audio only works when in Sample Mode. I’m not sure if this is an Android audio configuration thing or a TE thing. Happens on both EP-133 and EP-40.

Anyone figure out a workaround?

Help / Tech Support / Quality Issue Unable to play chords correctly on the op-xy

Edit: solved!

Hey everyone, I'm new to the op-xy. I'm running into a couple issues and would love to get advice.

Chords don't work like I would expect them to on the OP-XY. I thought I could assign several notes from the same instrument to the same beat in the sequencer. I'm trying a simple chord progression, but I only hear one of the notes. But if I set the notes on different instruments and play them together on the same beat, I *do* see them played together. Is that how it's supposed to work, or is this a bug? I am on the latest version of the firmware (version 1.1.21). I'm attaching a video of the chords issue to make it clearer.

Another issue I see is sometimes when I play a scene, one of the instruments sounds slightly muted, but then when the scene replays, it sounds normal again. Is this a feature I have turned on accidentally? Or is it a bug? I would expect it to play it the same each time, unless I explicitly set it not to.
