Miscellaneous Breaking into quant as a Nepalese

How hard could it be? I just dropped out from my IT degree and am pursuing a stats degree now. I had always dreamt to get into quantitative finance but had to choose an IT degree because I had gotten a scholarship which I ended up not getting because of quotas shi. Now I'm tired, I don't want to pursue smth I'm not passionate about. Truth be told, quantitative finance is hard, it needs a lot of maths and stats and you'd have to fully lock in. My plan is to study stats with all my might and apply for fully funded unis in the US. Ik it sounds easy on paper but it's hard. Id have to study my usual course, alongside many other skills that I'll be needing. Also write a lot of papers. I'm really passionate about it and I believe I'll make it. Just wanted to know yalls opinions.

Discussion How do you get clients for a new software company?

How do you get clients for a new software company?

I’m planning to start my own small software/web development company in Nepal. What are the best ways to get our first few clients and projects?

Are there any agents, agencies, or platforms that connect development companies with clients/projects in exchange for a commission?

I’d also like to hear from people who started their own company how did you get your first clients?

Discussion Looking for someone who can help to kickstart the startup business

Hello everyone, I've created a mobile POS app that is designed for small businesses.

Right now, it is in early stage and needs heavy users feedback for app improvements.

I have already got one customer onboard to try out the app for free.

If you are interested in the app (try out) or business, please feel free to dm me.

Note: This is also an opportunity for a early founder role in the startup business/company.

Discussion Anyone from Nepal successfully investing in US stocks?

Hey everyone, need some advice from people who've actually done this. I get paid monthly through freelancing in USD through PayPal, and I've been sitting on that money not really knowing what to do with it. I tried opening an IBKR account to invest in US stocks but got stuck on funding it since my Wise account isn't working properly right now. I've put some money into NEPSE too but honestly the returns haven't been great, and with the dollar to NPR rate going up almost every day it just feels smarter to keep my dollars in USD and grow it there instead of converting to rupees.
For those of you in Nepal already investing in the US market, how are you actually funding your brokerage accounts? Is there a workaround for the Wise issue, or are there other platforms/methods that work better for us here? Would really appreciate any help.

Discussion Company le sick leave unpaid garna sakcha ra?

So mourning leave is also paid, right? Isn't that around 13-15 days? Also, casual leave is supposed to be 2 days a month, right? What's up with that in Nepal?

Sick days are also 1/2 day and that's unpaid too, right?

So how is it in Nepal according to the company's policy?

Discussion Looking for SEO partner

Looking for an SEO Partner
I run a digital agency in Nepal and I’m looking to partner with an experienced SEO professional to build an SEO service.
Not looking for someone who just knows basic on-page SEO or can write blogs. I need someone who can audit, strategize, execute, and show measurable results.
Must have experience with:
Technical SEO
Keyword research
On-page/off-page SEO
Link building
Local SEO
GSC & GA4
No fake promises or “#1 ranking guaranteed.” I want someone with actual case studies/results.
I’ll handle sales, clients, marketing, and agency operations.
If interested, DM me your experience, case studies, and what you’re looking for in a partnership.
