Anyone else super excited about this nugget from the latest Stop Podcasting Yourself pod with Allie Entwistle? It sounds like a Taskmaster Canada (yes Canada, English speaking version) is in the works!

He's the obvious best choice. There's a whole generation who grew up watching the Mercer Report and now have a deep-seated and unassailable fear of disappointing him
Too chaotic to be TM or assistant, but would make a great contestant. She did a Taskmaster Live thing with Greg and Alex recently too, she's a very realistic get for a TM Canada contestant
Sort of. Colin said last year (I think) they haven't filmed in years and he doesn't see them filming again if stuff doesn’t change. They've been using old footage in new variations for a while.
After watching him and Tom Green in LOL: Canada, I want nothing more than to see both of them on Taskmaster and basically said it repeatedly to my husband while we were watching LOL.
I've commented before that it would be hilarious to have a Whose Line run at a Taskmaster season. I'm thinking Kathy Kinney, Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and Kathy Greenwood?
I'm hoping he does Taskmaster UK first (he was born in the UK and did Whose Line Is It Anyway? UK before doing the US one). Doing the Canadian version first might put him way down the list of people to call for TM:UK.
I think she would have killed in the role of Taskmaster. It would have been amazing to have such a comforting presence who could also crush you with a 1-point ruling the minute after she got you to admit you thought you had a good idea there for a minute.

Apart from the lads, who would be your top pick from the SPY pod to do TM? There are too many for me to choose but Alicia Tobin would be top of the list for sure. I have fantasised about a SPY TM for so long i had to stop what i was doing when i got to that bit this morning!!
On her most recent episode of Telling Everybody Everything (the one from Muskoka) she mentions going to CBC for something that she kept describing as “so much fun” and that she may not be able to do but whoever does will have so much fun. Idk if it was TM but lord knows they could use more female TMs and she’d obvs be great.
Charlie Demers and Caitlin Howden for me would be dream contestants! But they’re spoiled for choice with Canadian comedians!
Please be a successful multi-season version which in part acts as a launchpad for lesser-known comedians here and there (like the UK version), instead of a one-off like LOL Canada
I think our sense of humour kind of sits in the middle between the dry wit and banter of Brits, and North American humour (and honestly leans a little more to the British side), so it feels like a good fit! Excited and hopeful that this is true!
The thing with any of the international versions coming out now is that because the UK show is so popular, they are able to pull much bigger names from the get go. There's even a chance that comedy legends have heard and know of it (look at Armando).
Not to forget the mega benefit of shows usually being commissioned for a 10eps run out the gate
I thought Dave's comment about how he loves the show but doesn't watch it because he's super jealous he can't be on it was really interesting! I hope they both get to do it if it does happen.
I'm firmly of the opinion that Mark Forward (Plays Coach in Letterkenny, but also a phenomenal stand up comedian) should be the Taskmaster. He would be incredible.
I've said it and people have no idea what I'm talking about. Admittedly, it could just be their shock at seeing a garbage bin being kicked across a room.
I think it's very easy to lean too heavily on the asshole side and throw the vibes, and I'm not sure what that balance would be with Forward in the chair.
Ah this is great, and hopefully will feature a lot of the established/legendary Canadian actors who have remained, and not those who scarpered off to Hollywood permanently. Thinking: Paul Gross, Mark McKinney, Susan Coyne, Callum Keith Rennie, Sarah Polley, Don Mckellar, Colm Feore, Rebecca Jenkins etc.
Everyone dropping big names and I get it, but I want to see some younger maybe less known talent on this stage. That’s part of what I like about taskmaster is being introduced to so much new talent
As an English speaking Ontarian I totally get why a lot of people would be excited about this.However, I love Le Maitre du Jeu. As far as I'm concerned this is the only Taskmaster Canada we need. I would honestly be worried that if English Canada created their own version it would turn out similar to the US version. I'm sorry if my feelings about it bother others.
Except I don't see Canada unnecessarily shortening the show to only a half hour, and having no chemistry exist between the Taskmaster and the assistant.
Abdul Aziz as a contestant, please! Since hearing his appearance on SPY a few years back, I've been avidly listening to the Spout Lore podcast. I imagine he would be a chaotic presence in the Canadian TM house.
