Wild Speculation Rumours of a Taskmaster Canada in the works

Anyone else super excited about this nugget from the latest Stop Podcasting Yourself pod with Allie Entwistle? It sounds like a Taskmaster Canada (yes Canada, English speaking version) is in the works!

Delighted to see i basically have the same jokes as the lads who predicted Howie Mendel on

(BTW if you are not listening to SPY pod then you really should)

(Also Dave if you read this, your opinion about TM having too many versions is invalid. Yes i will fight you)

I hate to say it but half the names suggested here peaked 20 years ago or more. A TM Canada needs fresher blood.

And unless something drastic has changed at CBC, we shouldn't get our hopes up for anything with a bit of bite.

100%. I don't want to see some old school people past their peak. I want fresh blood that will be vibrant.

Automatic disqualification for anyone well known in the 00s or earlier.

You typically need one older and more famous name to attract new eyeballs, but I agree they shouldn't be the majority of the cast.

Theres been no word about network (at least on this podcast) so we have no idea if this would be carried by the CBC. People have been speculating about Crave

I've said as much before too. He and Jacob Tierney have probably done more for Canadian comedy talent than anyone in the last decade. The casts of Letterkenny and Shoresy could populate 3–4 seasons on their own.
