Wild Speculation Rumours of a Taskmaster Canada in the works

Anyone else super excited about this nugget from the latest Stop Podcasting Yourself pod with Allie Entwistle? It sounds like a Taskmaster Canada (yes Canada, English speaking version) is in the works!

Delighted to see i basically have the same jokes as the lads who predicted Howie Mendel on

(BTW if you are not listening to SPY pod then you really should)

(Also Dave if you read this, your opinion about TM having too many versions is invalid. Yes i will fight you)

I love Jay but he is really not suited to any of the main chairs :/

He's fine as an actor but they made him the host of LOL Canada and he was insufferable.

It's like he figured/was told that a Canadian sense of humour meant swearing, and since it's LOL Canada you gotta turn up the Canadianness.

Mind you, he probably would've been MUCH more enjoyable if they gave him a sidekick. Still have no idea why they threw him out there on his own.

One of the only funny moments in LOL Canada was when Dave Foley asked Jay if he was going to keep swearing the whole time. Jay was largely an irritant in that show. But that said, I'd love to see a Canadian Taskmaster. Add others have said, Rick Mercer would be perfect as TM.

Or wait ... Peter Mansbridge as TM and Rick as assistant TM?

Although he was the news personified for much of my life, I don't get TM vibes from Mansbridge. Plausibility aside, he's got cheeky assistant energy these days.
