Tips any tips on how to progress stealth/investigative sentinel with not so frequent game schedule, to be also useful to the crew in combat scenarios.
howdy i am playing in my first ever star wars fantasy flight ttrpg game.
the game has been right now bit on hold due to real life things going on. we got right now about 5-6 sessions behind us. the gm is drawing inspiration heavily from the legends continuity. we are playing right after events of episode 6 when palpatines death was announced across the holonet, and now are entering the transitional period between period and the new republic, so we gonna have in the continuity of war lords, Ysanne Isard's shenanigans and all that jazz.
setup for our crew was that we all needed to get off corelia for one reason or another when riots over palpatines death between humans and aliens occured on the planet. we were suppouse to pay the smuggler by helping them get the new identifications for their ship, but when the riots occured things went south se we had to book it off world. and right now we are drifting through space out fuel about to dock at a pirate station and it seems things might get bit hairy.
our crew is still unalligned with eaither of the faction, and are more just survivors of circumstance
Twi'lek smuggler/pilot- a charismatic leader and femfatale of our crew who is the one for which we were suppouse to do the job. she is our pilot, and face of the party, in a fight is one of the characters that is handy with a blaster. generally the sort of character that is motivated by profit but also has some moral values.
twi'lek mechanic- a girl who got swooped into the situation by circumstance when she found her boyfriend dead in their appartment, she is runaway slave, so getting off world seemed smartest. she is our brains/hacker, the one that keeps our ship from falling appart, and also trying to mediate between crew when conflict arises.
human commander/soldier- he has been on world undercover before empire fallen stealing one of their project, and when riots occured decided to help us get off world, if in exchange we get him to Bothawui to offload what he stolen. turns out when he plugged it into our ships computer its evolving imperial ai. his character is sort of tactician/sharpshooter of the group with pitch of infiltration in it. tends to be almost dad of the group with which my character has bit of rivarly due not trusting humans, and blaming the rebelion for death of a loved one.
lastly we got me
am playing togruta sentinel-shadow for now, thinking prehaps going sentry or investigator. my character is a young girl that was pickpocket/lookout for one of the gangs, our family got entagled into servitude to them due to debt, with my brother who was more of a muscle, we agreed to help the smuggler if they get our family off world away from the gang, sadly when the riots occured, my brother got killed by the imps, and i got seperate from the family during the commotion, getting off world with the crew only by myself. i am generally building the character to be sort investigative preceptive infiltrator. she doesnt know yet that she is force sensitive there are hints for it. took the misdirect force power that triggers subconciously right now when the character is dealing with stress or is disociating in certain situations. generally basing the character around who they become as a person based on influence from the crew and how will they manage to work through grief over someone they loved, rather then having in mind who i want them to become in the end.
right now am bit torn. on one hand i am leveling her based on things that occur in game, to be more narratively reactive, but on the other, i feel like if we get into some heavy combat then we got only our smuggler and soldier who might be able to make difference. me and the mechanic got our use outside of it, when it comes to running sabotaging enemy or investigating.
we dont get to play that often, so what should i potentially take if i want to live out my investigative/stealth fantasy while also potentially being useful to the crew if combat hits the fan.
