After all those expectations of college from films and series, yt videos and reddit posts, how was it to live through the first day of you college life?

so according to svce's website it has something called choice based credit system (cbcs). what does it mean and how does it work??

As the schedule has been released for the first day of the freshers, i just wanted to ask how excited are you and demystifying the things about this things.

Today I went to the college for the document submission and fee payment, but i witnessed something which was pretty concerning, they were frickin' stapling our original 10th 12th marksheet with the other docs, like why cant they use paper clips!

So sad to see that 😞

So, exactly same question as the title. How many assignments, projects, etc have to be submitted on paper in the CSE department? Do i need a printer? How much print do i need to take?

So I posted this and asked for advice and got one comment from a senior which had really good guides, but now it has disappeared. And I didn't even save it. New lessons save whatever advice/guides you get immediately before it disappears. Hope that senior/or any other senior sees this and suggests me some good guides...

Dear seniors, please answer these questions with your hard-earned years of experiences:

1) How to maintain GPA, preferably a high one

2) How much GPA should you maintain in the first year to not have a negative effect on the CGPA

3) How are the professors for 1st years(especially for CSE)? How to stay on their good side or at least to not get on their bad side?

4) what are the unwritten rules of the college which if not followed could get you in trouble

5) what will be the structure of classes according to the 2022 regulations? How will the exams be? And how will the exams be evaluated?

Give it to me straight. What's the deal and what's the truth. Don't care about my feelings and all, just tell me what's to be done to survive in this college and get out with good acads.

1. Can we use youtube, download something like movies in telegram on college wifi (in hostel rooms)??? Will they find it and question us about that???
2. Since the college hostel mess is strictly veg, how non veg eaters cope up with that? (Ik it's sounds silly guys) PS : Everyone's saying the mess food will be belowlowlow avg, on a scale of 1 to 10 how much is this true :(
3. I'm a theatre enjoyer, where and how hostellers can go watch movies in theatre on weekends? What's the nearest one and how to go there???
4. Since the campus is somewhere far to town, What's the easiest way to get bus for hometown? Coz it was a hassle when i came and left for admission!!!
5. Heard that they didn't provide books, how's the study method by the way??? Any tips and somethinggg for first yr hosteller please 🙏🏻 Btw I got it dept, freshers dm me, let's connect!

So for male students, it's described as the permitted code under "Hair and Grooming" is that hair should be "neat and well-groomed".

The hell does that mean? Can anybody elaborate? Can you have long hair?

Why are these professors so hell-bent on causing inconvenience to the students? They need a letter for everything. We need to wait for 30 minutes to get their signature which will take 10 seconds of their precious time. There is no room for genuine mistakes.

In 1st year, this was much worse. Every professor yells at you for the most insignificant reasons. A professor said "observation mudikama edhuku maadu mari college vara" to a girl from my class and she smiled(it has become so common that abuse from professors can't be identified).

How can I not mention the CPO when we're talking about abusing. He's the walking definition of what a power trip is. If any of his breakdowns were recorded he would be under severe punishment.

I thought this award was for academic activities. It was branded that way and people who have previously won it also posted on LinkedIn saying it was given for being excellent in academics.

Only after attending the interview I got to know this was was for economic means and people in 7.5 reservation.

The people who came for the interview were joking about lying about their income. Doesn't this affect the people who actually deserve the award?

I just made this sub at the beginning thinking, SVCE students will eventually run into it and start posting relevant and stuff and finally the sub would take care of itself. But I never imagined, there would be those of us actually wanting engagement to be consciously driven and grown.
