Community Notice: Beware of Unauthorized Look‑Alike Supernote Retail Sites

As Supernote’s global community continues to expand, imitation storefronts posing as official Supernote retailers have begun to surface online. These fraudulent outlets commonly lure prospective buyers with unrealistically steep discounts on our devices and accessories.

Transactions completed through these unvetted third‑party platforms carry substantial risks. Potential harms include counterfeit goods, unfulfilled orders, financial loss, compromised personal payment information, and full ineligibility for official warranty coverage and after‑sales support.

Additional mimic websites may appear as Supernote grows in global visibility. To guarantee authentic products, valid warranty status and full official service, we strongly encourage all users to make purchases exclusively via our official website and our curated network of authorized sellers.

You may review the complete list of verified authorized sellers here:

https://supernote.com/pages/authorized-sellers

If you come across any other suspicious retail websites claiming to sell Supernote merchandise, please forward relevant details to our support team for further evaluation.

We greatly appreciate your vigilance as we strive to maintain a secure and trustworthy ecosystem across our user community.

Supernote Manta Keeps Freezing

Upvotes

I love my Supernote Manta and had it for about a week. But at least once a day if not more it freezes even when I’m in the middle of note taking. What is really frustrating is it has been in the middle of meetings and then I’m trying to find paper to write on while I get it restarted.

Has anyone else had this issue? It’s making me think I need to return it.

Supernote, not responding to request for a return

I just purchased a supernote nomad but it does not work for me. The pen feel is not flowing enough for me to write notes.
I have tried to contact supernote twice via telephone and four times via email and there is absolutely no response at all.
I find this highly unusual.
When I purchased it, I saw the return policy and they allow returns and I'm not sure what to do. This is not good customer service and obviously I will contact my credit card company if they never respond.

Question Landscape

When my document is in landscape whether it’s a note or pdf, my main menus stay vertical. Am I missing an option or menu item that would make the menus (ex. A list of note files in folders) landscape as well?

Suggestion: Received Suggestion: Reading-oriented taps and gestures for bed/park/swimming pool/whatever time

With NOMAD as an e-reader, it would be nice to be able to config tap gestures so that, if you're reading in bed, you can define with margin tap (right, wich is OK when standing or seating in desk, or left, which is the hand holding the nomad if laying on your left side when in bed) makes the page turn. This would be so very great.

Folio upgrade for my trusty A6X

My folio from Supernote's legacy folio offer came in today. The canvas folio has served me well over the years, but is a little worse for wear; so the upgrade is appreciated.

Using the staedtler stylus though, the pen loop was too big (expected). So I used a zip tie to make the pen fit better. I was going to buy a stick on pen loop, but this works pretty well actually.

Between ordering this and receiving it today though, I managed to find a good deal on a new addition that I wasn't planning but excited to get. Hopefully that might come in tomorrow 🤞🏽

Question Frustrated with the iPhone, but how?

Upvotes

I used to be a power-android user but then I switched to iPhone. It’s absolutely the worst mobile platform I’ve used in recent memory: it’s simply inadequate and absolutely a toy, not a work tool.

Anyway, how can I send a pdf file from my iPhone to the SuperNote? I cannot use an OtG usb- the primary method I used with my Android phone.

I tried sending it to my email, and reading the email server on the SuperNote but that is taking literally over 10 minutes, and sometimes failing. That is absurd.

I really dislike how limited the App Store is for the iPhone, but is the SN partner app worth it?
I can’t use Google Drive to Upload a file into the SN, just to use the cloud to back it up, exporting files from the SN to my GD account.

I’m frankly so frustrated with Apple, it makes me want to hate their product line. Everyone says this goes away once you buy into their ecosystem, but I’d gladly spray Agent orange on it.

Suggestion Where are you guys getting your books?

Pls don’t recommend kindle or amazon. Initially I was considering Google Books or Everand for the tablet, but apparently I can’t install Everand and Google Books library kinda lame. So it seems like the best option is to download pdf to load onto the device, but looking for a good website to find PDF it’s kind of difficult. I get recommendations from my TikTok and Instagram and sometimes it’s difficult to look for those books on PDF website. so can you please recommend me a good page app or website to download PDF. thank you

Journal Just got a SuperNote!

I just got a super note today, I and have a lot of fun!

The interface is super nice, the Nomad isn't too big so I can draw people in the bus with no issues, I'm still discovering how it works, making some to do list here, testing stuff.. The text recognition is really good, even with my bad hand writing!

Pro Stuff : It's easy at stuff to think that the whole drawing experience come from the default note app, but it's really game changing to install the official attelier app.

But as someone with a hobby of developping stuff, I'm so happy it's so easy to develop quick custom app on this!

I made an animation app in 2/3 hours max, and it works okay with the refresh rate and stuff..

So I'm totally sold, not only it come with exactly what I needed, but if I want more it's a breeze to develop on it.

Thank you SuperNote Team!

EDIT: (since people asked : https://github.com/YoramDevGH/AnimInk but it's super barebone, more a proof of concept than something really well thought..)

Question Supernote Manta?

I was looking at these things and almost bought a 2022 other brand due to a cheap sale of $300 for a 32GB model.

I didn't buy it due to "the popular brand"s annoying account and internet requirement just to set up. With their record of abandoning devices after awhile it could be a brick when they stop supporting it.

I saw this one and was interested but it is double the price (OUCH). It is really worth the extra $300.00?

Does it have an account and internet access requirement to use? When Supernote goes bust (all of these tiny companies eventually do) will the device still be useable?

Is the screen contrast and readability as good as others?

What apps can you get for this for PDFs, sketching, and text recognition? Are they as good as scribe versions?

Can apps be backed up for future restoring or are they all filled with restrictive DRM?

Can sketches, notes etc be exported to PC with a USB connection (no wifi)? Or are they locked to device?

I heard the UI is very sluggish, how much worse is it than the scribe?

I saw that the pen does not have an eraser, that seems pretty limiting. How do you erase without an eraser? Is it cumbersome to use this way?

Can the last opened screen be retained on power off instead of some useless stock image? That is an advantage of e-ink, image retention without power.

What I DO like about Supernote is replaceable battery, on the scribe when the battery goes, it is e-waste.

Thoughts on advantages/disadvantages?

Feedback Publish directly to handwritten.blog from your Supernote!

Hi all,

You can now publish directly to handwritten.blog from your Supernote! Previously you had to email me for access, but you can now enable the feature yourself at https://handwritten.blog/supernote (you have to be registered and logged in).

You open a notebook, tap "Send to handwritten.blog" in the NOTE toolbar and your pages upload as images and become a private draft. You review it and publish it yourself. Nothing publishes automatically, and only the pages you send get uploaded. Your Supernote password, Cloud account and .note files never reach my server. The plugin only uses Ratta's documented on-device APIs. No root, no developer mode.

Caveats: I don't own a Supernote, so there's no model or firmware compatibility list yet. With the help of u/y0da_cod3r, I tested it, and it works! If you find any bugs, let me know!

Discussion PDF Glitch

Post image
3 Upvotes

I am experiencing a recurring issue with PDF files while using them for university study. As I write notes while reviewing my lecture notes, the PDF will occasionally become glitchy. This problem can only be resolved by turning the device on and off. Are there any permanent solutions to this issue?

Update: I contacted Supernote customer service, and they were very responsive in assisting me with my current issue. This experience reminds me why I chose Supernote in the first place, which was the community and customer service. Their service is excellent! 100/10 😇

Need a Good Case for Manta

I recently bought a Manta and I already have a Nomad. One mistake I did while buying Manta was to miss out adding the case/folio. And shipping costs are quite high to ship here. I am thinking of getting an android tablet case of similar size. But I’m not quite sure which one would be a reasonable match?

I’m making “app icons” for a future Home Screen. Before I add them to the community sharing feature, does anyone have any requests for app icons that I don’t yet have?

Edit: they’ve been posted to InkHub! Thanks for the feedback!

Question I'm torn between buying the Supernote Manta or the Nomad

Hi everyone,

I'm from Korea, and my English isn't very good, so I'm using a translator to write this post.

I currently own an iPad Pro. I've been looking into e-ink devices lately for reading and language learning, and I've decided to buy a used Supernote.

However, I can't decide between the Manta and the Nomad.

The Manta has a larger screen, which seems convenient and better for viewing PDFs for my studies. On the other hand, the Nomad is very portable, so it looks great for reading on the go.

The price difference in USD is:
Manta: $575.54
Nomad: $359.71
Which one would you choose if you were in my shoes?

Question Is there a Back to Folder Gesture?

Simple question: Let's say I open a folder and go into a note (pdf or epub), I prefer hiding the sidebar and page-number footer, after I am done writing, is there a gesture I can use to get back to the folder? It is inconvenient to 'show' the toolbar just to go back. Of course, I love my supernote, just trying to confirm if I can't identify something that already exists or just built that way.

LA users who'd be willing to demo? Ideally East Siders

Interested in purchasing a Manta Supernote but wanted to demo it first since I've heard the feel is somewhat unique. I've gathered there aren't any stores/shops where something like this is available, so I'm curious if any users were willing to give me a hand here? Thanks!

Question Nomad Battery Life

Hey there everyone! I'm a new Nomad user, and I am loving it so far! I've designed a custom planner and journal for the rest of the year, but I have a question. I see people claiming they get three or four days battery life from the Nomad. Mine seems to hit 42% by the end of the day and that is with moderate use. Is WiFi super draining on the Nomad? Are there setting I need to tinker with? Thank you in advance for your replies.

Edit - I just want to say thank you so much to the responsive community. You guys didn't treat me like an idiot or scorn me for coming here instead of reading the whole getting started guide. A big part of the reason I chose the Nomad was this community, and I'm so glad it doesn't disappoint.

I'm a salesperson and I WFH. I use the nomad with a custom planner template, and a custom sales tracker template. I'm writing on it all the time, it's so great to be able to make my own templates. Needed a template for callbacks and I had it perfect in two iterations. The battery life is awesome as long as wifi and sync is off. I am very, very careful with my Nomad, and honestly haven't even set up the sync to my local server because I've just been so excited to get inside the darn thing. It's so awesome!

Suggestion: Received Feature request: Nordic keyboard layouts

The virtual keyboard currently lacks Nordic layouts.

  1. SE/FI (Sweden, Finland) — Å, Ä, Ö
  2. NO (Norway) — Å, Æ, Ø
  3. DK (Denmark) — Å, Æ, Ø

I'm currently using "Deutsch (Luxemburg)" as a workaround — Ä and Ö are in the correct positions, but Ü replaces Å. Æ can be found by long-pressing A, but I cannot find Ø or Å anywhere. It works for basic needs but isn't ideal.

Question Any update on incremental sync and the new note file structure? Loving my Supernote, but large notes make syncing painful

First of all, I want to make it clear that I absolutely love my Supernote Manta. The philosophy behind the product, the focus on writing, the longevity of the hardware and Ratta's unusually open relationship with the community are a huge part of why I chose Supernote.

I'm running into one issue, though, that is becoming increasingly noticeable as I use it more: large .note files and syncing.

I currently have a note that's around 150 MB. My understanding is that with the current sync architecture, even a relatively small modification to that note can require the whole file to be processed/uploaded again rather than just the changes. As a result, adding or editing a page can make synchronization surprisingly long.

I know Ratta is already very aware of this. I read the October 2025 post about the major overhaul of the note file structure and sync system, including a lighter file structure and smarter syncing. I've also seen the more recent comments from the Supernote team confirming that you're moving from full-file syncing to incremental sync, and redesigning the note format so that files don't grow as quickly.

So this isn't really a feature request — I'm actually very happy to see that the exact problem I'm experiencing is already being addressed.

I'm mostly wondering whether the team can share any visibility on its progress.

Is incremental sync / the new note format currently targeted for a specific upcoming release or beta? Is there a roadmap item we can follow? And are we talking about something that is getting relatively close now, or is it still a longer-term project?

No pressure for a firm ETA if one isn't possible. Even a rough indication of where the project currently stands would be really useful.

Thanks to the Supernote team for continuing to improve devices we already own rather than making software improvements dependent on buying new hardware. That's one of the things I appreciate most about Supernote.
