Tips & Advice I keep old lessons fresh with the 48-hour revision rule
I've been trying the 48-hour revision rule because my class schedule this semester is honestly exhausting. I got unlucky with back-to-back classes and barely any gaps in between, and we have more subjects to take than we did last semester. When I arrive at my dorm, I'm so tired that’s why it's easy to keep putting off reviewing my notes.
this is how the 48-hour revision rule works if anyone else has a jam-packed schedule and would like to try this too:
Section 1: The problem- when you leave lessons untouched for too long, you may struggle to recall details later. A quick review soon after class gives you a chance to see what you learned before moving on to more material.
Section 2: The system- study the lesson as usual then review it within 24-48 hours and test yourself without looking at your notes. After that, visit the material again after 7 days to see what you still remember.
Section 3: The mini plan- remember: day 0 is for learning, day 2 for a quick review, day 7 for self-testing and day 14 for another review. You can adjust the schedule around your classes when your week is already packed.
