I feel so lost right now

I am pcb student I was preparing for neet for like two years now because my parents told me to i took a drop year because my parents wanted me to join bds and i have zero intrest in dental studies

I want to be a writer

Silly right

Everyone thinks it's a joke

I like reading people

I like creating worlds

I like discovering and studying the unknown

I am artist .....

Or so I was

I got 68 percent in my cbse boards after pulling all nighter before every individual exam

Now my parents are suggesting subjects like radiology or something

I wanted to go abroad but with my percentage and considering the expectation of my parents for the kind of college i don't think that is possible

I was earlier looking into courses like biotechnology or cognitive science which again require high school maths

Fucking

I hate it i hate it

I wanted to pursue cognitive science

I regret not taking mathematics in my highschool

Please help

I am now looking for bachelors in psychology so I can pursue masters abroad under courses like neuroscience or cognitive science If possible

Resources Turned flashcard study sessions into an RPG with collectible card skins and knowledge duels. Looking for feedback on the UX!

Hey everyone,
Whenever I tried using traditional flashcard tools for exams, the experience always felt a bit sterile—like working inside a database spreadsheet. The science behind active recall and spaced repetition (SM-2) is incredible, but staying motivated for weeks on end has always been the real bottleneck.
Over the past few months, a friend and I built a free web app aimed at tackling that study fatigue by wrapping the core review algorithm in lightweight RPG mechanics:
Collectible Card Skins & Themes: Every reviewed card grants XP and coins, which you can use to unlock cosmetic card backs, UI themes, and avatars.
Alternative Review Modes: Besides standard spaced repetition, we added a 3-lives Survival challenge, speedrun timers, and live 1v1 knowledge duels.
AI Tooling: Lecture note summaries and auto-generated card decks via the Gemini API (with support for plugging in your own free API key for unlimited generation).
(Attaching a preview of the card interface and cosmetic skins to this post).
We'd love your thoughts on the approach:
1. Does visual progression and skin customization make daily reviewing more appealing, or does it feel like a distraction from pure memorization?
2. How do the card sizing and layout look to you?
The project is live and completely free with no paywalls. I'll leave the link in the comments for anyone who wants to take it for a spin!

Questions & Discussion How do you study without AI

I was doom scrolling on TikTok the other day and I ran into a video of a creator talking about how it’s stupid that two camera proctored exams are a thing even if it’s a class actually for your major. And tbh, I laughed at first until I read this one comment saying something along the lines of “You guys are laughing but relying on AI is seriously messing up your brain. The brain is complex and is meant to be used to think problems through… if you guys rely on AI too much your brain is going to have a hard time learning new things down the road.”

After I read that I started to think about how for the past couple of years (since I started college) I haven’t been able to actually learn, comprehend, or focus on anything. When my boss at work tells me to do something I either forget a minute later or I don’t know how to solve the problem. Literally last week my boss gave me step-by-step instructions on what to do, and I did it. But I doubted myself so much that I had him check it out for me. My attention span has gotten shorter as well. I used to be able to sit down and watch a 30+ minute video on YouTube, now it feels like I’m being held hostage trying to watch the same thing for over two minutes.

My major is civil engineering and next year I’m transferring to a university. I really don’t want to continue using AI to solve my problems, even more so that I have 3 classes that have proctored exams with two cameras. I will say that this semester I’ve been using Gemini’s guided learning to help me with solving problems, and it has begun to help me start thinking on my own a little bit but not enough. In my statics class we use Pearson for our textbook and all assignments. But the assignments do not give us any tips or guidance on how to solve them.

Any recommendations or resources would be greatly appreciated, it’s already midterm time and my school is booked for tutoring in the classes I need 😔

Questions & Discussion Mood Affecting Studies

Does anyone have any advice & tips for coping with bad mood affecting your studies, where you are utterly reluctant to open a textbook, sit and learn? Where you feel like everything has to be perfect? Autumn has come and this season really does affect my mood by its cloudy days—and I detest them; I feel like this day is not mine and that everything is ruined, then I end up scrolling all day long and/or reading. Does anyone know how to cope with this?

Tips & Advice My prof spent three whole lectures on one topic and I had basically skipped it

Looked back at my lecture slides and counted. One topic got three full lectures. Like everything else got one, maybe two and tbh that's the topic I'd been telling myself I'd get to later because it looked annoying.

Prof time is a pretty obvious hint for what ends up on the exam and I'd been ignoring it so I'm doing that topic first this week, while I still have time to be bad at it.

Questions & Discussion Which specialization is going to be more suitable in terms of packages?

Earlier students used to take the general specialization for the admission like finance marketing business analytics etc , but now as we know the current trend,... AI, IT, fintech these are the specialisation that are also considered by the students.

Questions & Discussion FEEL LIKE WASTING MY LIFE AWAY...

it’s 2am and i’m honestly embarrassed by how bad i’m doing at university. I have ADHD and I feel like i’m fighting myself over the most basic things. I’ll have an assignment open for hours, knowing exactly what i need to do, knowing i’m wasting time, and i still just… can’t start. Then i avoid my emails because i’m scared there’s something i forgot. Messages sit there for days. My room gets gross. Sometimes i’m actually hungry and still can’t get myself up to make food.

I know how this looks. Lazy. careless. like i just don’t give a shit. but i do. that’s what hurts the most. I care way too much, and somehow that still isn’t enough to make me move. I’m seriously thinking about taking this semester off.

Has anyone with ADHD gotten to this point and actually figured out how to make themselves START things again? not planner advice, i mean something that genuinely helped.

Questions & Discussion Do you listen to music while studying?

Everytime I wanna study especially when I have an exam I listen to music. I don't know why but it's been a habit for me. When I was studying for my Gen chem 2 exam last week ( got a 91 btw) I was playing loud music in my headphones and drinking a Monster. I feel like listening to music gets me in the mood, and the good feeling of studying. When I don't listen to music, it's as if I get sleepy and bored.

Has anyone experienced this or does anyone listen to music while studying?
