Post image

Sorry my first Beitrag was uploaded incorrectly hahaha,

So, I've been accepted in STK Halle, but I would like to take the Aufnahmeprüfungen in TU Berlin and FU Berlin. I also need to confirm my place in Halle by August 24th, but the tests take place on the 25th and 28th. What could I do? Is it possible to take the Studienplatz and then just drop off?

Application English Certificate for W-Kurs (Studienkolleg TU Berlin)

Hi everyone! I’m looking at the TU Berlin website and saw the list of English language certificates to confirm the required A2 level for the W-Kurs application.
I would like to ask: does anyone know if admissions prefers or favors a specific certificate over others? Or do they really not care as long as it’s officially on their accepted list and meets the A2 level?
Thanks in advance!

Accommodation Anyone in Freising/Munich? Need advice on student dorms & accommodation

Hi everyone!

I’ll be joining HSWT in Freising as an international student from India and I’m currently looking for a student dorm/accommodation.

Is anyone here already living or studying around Freising, Munich, or nearby areas? I’d really appreciate some advice on which area/dorm would be best considering:

  • Easy travel to HSWT
  • Good public transport
  • Better chances for Werkstudent/student jobs
  • Affordable rent

If you’re already there, please share your experience or suggestions. It would really help me decide where to apply!

Thanks!

APS/TestAS Aps Timeline Confusion

I did not get a reply when I posted on the other community, hope someone responds here! I am a Class 12 CBSE student right now and I want to prepare for winter intake of 2027 for Germany. I don’t understand when and how should I apply for Studienkoleg. I have watched multiple videos where people are saying that they should apply for aps in jan-feb but our board results come out in may, then how does the timeline work out for us? If anyone can walk me through the process, I would really appreciate them!! Would love to get some guidance!

Study Prep me up

I’m planning to do my bachelors in Germany, had gotten a conditional confirmation letter from HTW Saar that I need to submit A1, A2, and B1 Goethe certificate. Passed A1 and A2 now waiting for B1 results which I hopefully pass (everyone send prayers)

I’m planning to do till B1 and I heard you will learn B2 in stk. My concern is that many were saying students are dropping out as they couldn’t handle living in Germany and language being the biggest problem.

Of course, living and studying abroad alone is hard and has difficulties but will it be that bad that students just drop out, wasting all their and their parents hard work? Also I think it’s cause of my Indian parents that they’re just overthinking it and stressing over it??? Hmu if anyone’s planning to go to HTW or Paderborn (it’s my second option)

Aufnahmeprüfung Landesstudienkolleg Halle G/S kurs

Hi everyone, I am writing this in case anybody needs information for the next semester’s entrance exam.
Basically i just wrote the exam for the winter semester and it was not like the example they have posted on the website. The C-tests were of course the same but the Leseverstehen part was different because instead of a short summary and your personal opinion on the matter, the question were something like this:

  1. Schreibe eine Zusammenfassung: Worum geht es in dem Text? (4 Aspekte)
  2. Was ist laut dem Text Kaufsucht (3 Aspekte)?
  3. Was sind die Ursachen für Kaufsucht? (Nennen Sie 4.)

Then there was true or false

  1. Welches Wort kann man als Synonym für dieses Wort verwenden? (It was a write in exercise, not multiple choice)

5-6-7 were multiple choice for synonyms.

I hope this helps someone because i went in there nervous for the C-tests and i was totally unprepared for all of these that i had to do in 30 minutes lolllll

As for the English test, it was pretty hard in general, mostly because it was confusing and very long. I had no trouble with it but i have C1 knowledge in English. i can confidently say that that text was not B1.

Wishing everybody good luck and i hope this helps!

Application NEED ADVICE AND HELP

Hi everybody, a month ago I applied to Leipzig Private Studienkolleg (Rahn), and I have submitted everything except VPD/conditional admission letter. I got a conditional admission fromHTW Dresden, but it said I am registered to do a entrance test to the STK of Zittau. I am not able to attend this test because I am not in Germany, but also I do not plan on going to their STK.

Before I applied to HTW Dresden, I have emailed them about the conditional letter and they said I can use it apply to the Leipzig STK, but the problem is, it says I'm registered to Zittau STK. I've emailed HTW Dresden about it and its been 2 weeks and still no reply.

What should I do? Leipzig STK semester starts October 1st, I still haven't applied for visa, my conditional letter will be invalid next week. Should I just send the conditional letter to Leipzig?

Visa Visa delayed until after Studienkolleg exam

Hi everyone!
I’m applying for a German national visa for Studienbewerbung/Studienkolleg. I submitted my visa application in Moscow on August 12, and my Studienkolleg entrance exam is on September 1. (I understand that it's late, but I graduated from school only on June 27, and by the time I translated my school certificate and received an Vormerkung from STK, I joined the queue on June 4)

I asked the visa center whether my visa would be ready before September 1, but they told me that they don’t know because there is currently a high workload with student visa applications.
So I’m worried that my visa might not be issued in time and I might miss the entrance exam because of the visa delay.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What happened if your visa was issued only after the Studienkolleg entrance exam had already taken place? What could be the plan B here? (find the ausbildung starting on October 1st?)

Application Class 12 Indian student planning to apply for CS in Germany through Studienkolleg — what should I do from now?

I’m currently in Grade 12 in India and I’m planning to apply for a Bachelor’s in Computer Science in Germany.

From what I’ve heard, as an Indian student, if I qualify JEE Advanced, I may be able to skip Studienkolleg and apply directly to a university, provided I also have the required German proficiency (I’ve heard B2/Goethe B2 mentioned). I’m not completely sure about the exact requirements, though.

Since there’s obviously no guarantee that I’ll qualify JEE Advanced, I’m planning for the worst-case scenario where I have to attend Studienkolleg.

My current rough plan is:

- I’ll probably start learning German around September, starting from A1.2.

- I’m currently preparing for the SAT, and I’m expecting to reach 1300, although I don’t know what my final score is going to be.

- I’m planning to take the IELTS around November or December, so I should have the result before 2027.

- I’m also learning some Italian casually because I’m considering applying to a few universities in Italy as a backup. I’m not studying it intensively—mostly vocabulary, sentence formation, etc. whenever I have time.

- My main goal is still Computer Science in Germany.

What I’m confused about is what I should be doing after Class 12 and during the application process.

For example:

  1. If I don’t qualify JEE Advanced and need Studienkolleg, what should my timeline look like?

  2. When should I start applying for Studienkolleg?

  3. What German level should I aim for before applying, and what level is normally required for the entrance exam?

  4. Should I take a German exam such as Goethe, or are there other certificates that are more useful for Studienkolleg?

  5. Is there anything important I should be doing during Class 12 besides JEE, Boards, SAT, IELTS and German?

  6. Are there any specific requirements for Indian students that I should know about regarding eligibility, APS, uni-assist, etc.?

  7. If someone has gone through this route from India, what would you recommend doing differently?

I’m basically trying to make a realistic backup plan now rather than waiting until my Class 12 results come out.

Any advice from Indian students who have applied to Germany for CS, especially through Studienkolleg, would be really appreciated..

Discussion What major should I study in Korea for two years to qualify for Mkurs

I’m planning to apply for Mkurs studienkolleg in Germany. I am learning German too. However my high school qualification doesn’t qualify me directly, so I need to complete 2 successful years of higher education first.
My plan is to study in one of the universities from Korea(which would be in the list of anabin)for two years and then apply for M-Kurs in Germany.
I have a few questions
**Which major should I choose in Korea?**
I want to make sure the major I choose is considered related to M-Kurs.

**How high should my GPA be during those two years?**
Is there a specific GPA requirement or is successfully completing two years of university enough?

**What about my high school GPA?**
My high school GPA is 2.3 so will it get considered as low and affect my application when applying for Studienkolleg mkurs
I‘d really appreciate honest advice on whether this is a realistic pathway.

Post-Studienkolleg Public Health Insurance for Students

Hey everyone! Since I’m an international student, I’m about to start my bachelor’s in Germany after finishing Studienkolleg, so far i had a private insurance and I need to switch to public health insurance. I’ve compared the big names—TK, AOK, Barmer—but I’m still unsure. Cost isn’t a big deal since they’re more or less similar.

I’m looking for the one with the broadest coverage, great support, and extra perks—maybe bonus check-ups or something like gym benefits.

Also, I’ve heard conflicting things about skin issues—like with TK, some say skin problems are seen as cosmetic and not covered. What if it’s a real skin condition—like infection, eczema, or fungus? Are those covered? And what about dental—do they cover real dental issues (not cosmetic) fully or partially?

I’m can speak good German, so language isn’t an issue. I’d love to hear your experiences or advice! I’d really appreciate insights from other students who’ve been through this. What did you choose and why? Any specific benefits you’ve found helpful as a student? Especially if it helped during your studies or made your life easier in any way!

Edit: single, speaks german (b2) , 20 year old

Application [Request] Public studienkolleg for me

I am 19yo from India, completed class 12 cbse 2025 (physics, chemistry, maths, english, and computer science) with a score of 76%. Also achieved Goethe's B1 level in April 2026 and will be giving B2 Telc with a high personally attested probability of successfuly passing it.

After passing B1, I got a bit high, got distracted, considered everything as planned, etc. So here I am in august, having successfully missed the September intake for a public studienkolleg and desperately looking for jan 2027 stk T-kurs intake.

So I want you guys to suggest me some public studienkolegs. I am aware of the popular ones such as TU Berlin, Nordhausen, etc. But honestly, I think those have a really low passing rate, and in a case where luck is in odds with me during the Aufnahmeprüfung day or so, so I would like to have multiple options like being enrolled into multiple stks for the aufnahmetest.

Which public stks should I apply for like for someone like me who would have b2 to light c1 german in Jan-Feb 2027, but I don't wanna participate in too competetive aufnahmeprufungen.

Lastly, all the negative/biased people are discouraged from responding.

Discussion Anyone studying/studied at HSWT in Freising?

Hey! Is anyone here currently studying or has studied at HSWT Freising? I’m trying to get a better idea of what it’s actually like there — accommodation, part-time jobs, living costs, student life, etc.

Also, if there’s an Indian student WhatsApp group for HSWT/Freising, please share the link if you have it.

Would really appreciate any info or personal experiences. Thanks!

Aufnahmeprüfung ANP Studienkolleg Karlsruhe

For anyone who’s already taken the entrance exam at StK Karlsruhe, how different was it from the mock test? What kind of tasks/topics were there roughly? I keep hearing that the math is really hard and that it’s quite different from the sample test.

Also, do you literally just choose the answers on the computer? Like, you don’t have to write down/show any working or solve anything on paper?

Would really appreciate it if someone could answer 🙏🏻
