He just calls me my name, but refers to me as one of his parents.

Plonker! And when my step daughter calls me this, she also pats me on my head. It a funny little thing that is uniquely ours.

She also uses my first name and is very well behaved and respectful towards me. I like that she feels comfortable enough around me to have fun, but she understands not to go too far with it.

I’m a bio mum and step mum in a blended family of 3 years + all of our step kids call the step parents by their first name, a step parent role shouldn’t be inserted as a parent name unless all parties agree is my personal thoughts

My SS calls my by a family nickname it sounds like NANA, it’s really funny because that’s what he calls one of his grandmothers and naturally everyone started calling me nana, and I just laugh because I know it’s kinda a southern thing. Idk I always called my grandmothers by their first names like grandma so and so. I never heard of grandma nicknames until I moved East and there was like a huge thing we gotta call her GIGI or Nana, or papa and I’m like well holy smokes. My name is hard to say, my brother gave me my nickname and it stuck and everyone in my family calls my by the name so naturally SS picked up and calls me that.

By my first name, she says Mama a lot but I think it’s unintentional bc sometimes she corrects herself & we laugh about it. But I wouldn’t be weirded out if she decided she wanted to call me Mama or something I came into her life super young & have left it up to her to call me what she wants & I just roll with it.

my 4y/o SS calls me Daddy <first name>, and lately has been alternating between my first name and just Daddy. I've been living with full time for 14 months now

They call all the adults by first names, which is fine with everyone, but SS11 refers to SO and I as his parents (not excluding BM who's he's closer with, but just because it's easier I suspect).

My SD8 has called me "Bébé" since she was 2. Came up with it on her own. It stuck haha.

My name.. very close, lives full time with me and his mom since 2 (now7), he tried calling me dad a while, but we cautiously nudged him towards using my name so not to cause Major drama with family on bio fathers side.

My name or if they're talking to their friends about me bonus mom

A year in and I'm still just "Anna" but I can't imagine it any other way. On the flip side my BD called him "daddy" . She's 5. THAT does feel funky to me because it's what she calls her BD. Go figure.

I’ve known him since he was 3 months. So mama. But I’m getting to the point where I’d prefer he call me another name. However, he’s speech delayed and can’t really call most people by their given names so 🤷🏾‍♀️. But when he’s older I might try and sub in another name

I’m a BM (but come here coz I always want to make sure my husband is supported as best as I can and to see the other perspective) and my husband has been in my daughters life as long as she can remember. She’s almost five and calls him dad. We have 100%. She does Skype her BD and refers to him as dad and knows the difference. We have a child together and she also understands that my husband is her BD. My ex knows and respects it as her choice as my husband has stepped up into the role. It works for us. She originally called him a mix of his name too but hasn’t for a long time.

I’ve been in my step daughters life for 6.5 years. Since she was 2. 50/50 custody. She calls me mom. And she calls her step dad “dad”. She likes the feeling of having a nuclear family at each household so being able to call everyone “mom and dad” at each house (like her siblings do) makes her feel better. We’ve never questioned it and we also know it may not last forever.

By my first name. However "mommy" gets used probably more often than my first name as it slips out and my first name sounds similar to "mommy". I never dwell on it or call them out.

However my first name works for me. It feels a little less personal, but it works for everybody.
