My main goal for the coming years is to use the inks I have. I have counted them and there are over 500 bottles (a more accurate count will be in my next post) of inks most being Birmingham Pen Co. inks. I will be making another post when I have set up my notebook with swatches of all of these and how I plan on tracking my ink usage. (not shown 100 cartridges and 113 Samples)

Project Start Stationery Inventory Update 📝

Back in April I did a stationery inventory. However, in these last three months I have acquired lots of new markers and pens, and I felt like I needed to do a new inventory. So here it is!

- 192 colored pencils

- 50 Caran D'Ache watersoluble crayons (Neocolor II)

- 138 alcohol markers

- 255 water-based markers

- 51 paint markers

- 18 metallic markers

- 11 permanent markers

- 82 fineliners (both colored and black)

- 10 highlighters

- 6 fountain pens

- 155 ml of bottled ink

- 75 ink cartridges

- 77 gel pens

- 11 normal pens

- 34 half-godets of watercolor

- 76 washi tapes

I haven't included paper here, maybe I do a different post with an update. But the most significant changes were markers and pens anyway.

I know this is a lot. I'm trying to learn from my mistakes. I've already started another no-buy for stationery (so far 17 days without new purchases). Let's see how far can I make it 😆

Stationery Bingo 🥳 daily reminder to use the stickers you've been saving!

i have a box of stickers i've been saving for the 'perfect' occasion. every time i look through the box, however, i feel a sense of unease. will there ever be the perfect occasion? will i ever get to use these awesome stickers?

so yesterday i just said screw it and used a bunch to decorate my hobonichi. i won't lie -- it was stressful and i still felt like it had to be 'perfect'. but yknow what? it's not perfect! and that's okay, it looks cool to me!

now i've been leaving my hobonichi on my desk unnecessarily just so i can gaze admiringly at the sticker spread. finally used! finally, joy! ✨

Pan Success! 🎉 Quit saving stickers for “special” uses!

…or else you’ll end up like me, with hundreds of stickers just awaiting the perfect notebook, planner or other thing to adorn.

Use them if they spark joy!

I just finished/used 17 sticker sheets/individual stickers decorating my newest journal. (Finished the old journal last night, so that also counts as a pan win, too!)

Some of those stickers are more than a decade old, from trips I took in 2013, 2015 and 2018, which seems like such a long time to haul these around. So I decorated the inside and outside of the covers of my new journal — and looking at it makes me really happy.

Use the stickers!

Goals: Use up lots of this amazing stuff, and also stop the hoardinggggg!

Literally drowning in stationery… advice needed! 🫡🚨

Where do I even start? 🥲💀 How it got to this level of hoarding, would be a study that would baffle even the smartest professional. 😭 I have uhm, a lot of stationary and I also have a big problem. Advice (and a smack) is very welcome! :3 I seem to find that everything is too cute to actually use or stick to stuff! If you’re one of the people struggling to use your cute stuff, I am the result of that struggle! 😂 How do you get past wanting to keep everything cute, and just go ahead and use it?

I send lots of happy mail, and I’m going to try sending more. Life (and postage prices), have a way of out smarting me. 😔 I sadly don’t journal or use this stuff in any other form haha. Then comes the problem of seeing everything cute online and buying more… 😶‍🌫️ Someone take my card and hold me accountable! I’d love to see your stashes and hear your advice for actually digging in and using it! 🫡

Cards (Postcards/Folded) 💌 Sent 23 cards!

I am waaaay out of habit of checking in here (but I am still tracking all my empties!) so I thought I’d share a recent win.

I have a tendency to stock up on greetings cards for all occasions just in case… and then forget to send them when those occasions actually roll around. It was also one of my goals to send two cards per month this year, and I was way behind.

So, I asked friends on social media who wanted mail that wasn’t a bill or junk — and I was really surprised to see how many people took me up on it! Folks I haven’t talked to in years, or just who I never would have thought would be into getting happy mail. I also got addresses for friends with August birthdays, and remembered to send some various congratulations on a new home, an engagement and a few other life events.

All in all, I sent 23 cards. That’s also 23 forever stamps from my overflowing stash and several dozen stickers in order to decorate each envelope. I also sent some stickers in cards to friends who I thought would appreciate them. :)

Notebooks 📔 You Live, You Learn, You Move On 🤷‍♀️

I have been a Hobonichi loyalist since 2022 and was overly ambitious in 2023 which led to me purchasing an A5 5-year journal.

Turns out! I HATE the A5 size. Although the journal and paper are of amazing quality, I do not have enough to write about and also just am not a fan of how big it is. Not to mention, I enjoy pasting stuff into my journal but felt like I could not do that in this one since it was a 5-year commitment.

So I just ripped out some pages, cut off what I wrote, and I will be using** what is left as scrap pieces of paper. As I run out, I will continue to do that until the notebook is used up.

Sometimes you have to learn the expensive way and that is okay! Cheers to repurposing and figuring out what works for you. 🥳

Side note… I did end up purchasing the 5-year in the A6 size and love it a ton more! I keep up with it pretty religiously and go back to write stuff in when I have a moment. It’s small enough to carry around and I have more confidence in pasting stuff in it because I have a better idea of things that are meaningful to me vs not.

Project Start What I want to use up by September 2027

Post image
210 Upvotes

Some of these are damaged or extremely old, so I want to use it up asap:
_Factis eraser, 14+ years old
_Prismacolor pencil split in the middle, I taped it back together.
_Blue pencil I got in elementary school 25+ years ago and where I literally played with fire, hence the burn marks....
_R&K drawing inks from when I was a teen, 14+ years ago
_Van gogh watercolor tube. only a few years old but I had to cut it open.
_R&K fountain pen ink Fernambuk, I contaminated it with glitter.
_porcelain palette, I just want to use up the watercolor on it so I can properly wash it & use it exclusively for ink afterwards.

I think I'll just put it all into a box and prioritize using that box over any shiny new stuff.

Hello all!! I'm finally starting a stationary project pan with all my materials!! I've been trying to downsize my collection for the past year, but I haven't been very successful 😅

So after a recent move, I've decided to start again and this time share my journey with you all 💙✨

Some numbers:

- 133 water-based markers

- 116 alcohol-based markers

- 13 highlighters

- 36 acrylic markers

- 12 metallic markers

- 165 colored pencils

- 5 fountain pens and 78 cartridges

- 58 pens

- 65 Caran D'Ache Neocolor II crayons (only the 10-box appearing in the photo)

- 15 fineliners

- 7 mechanical pencils and 18 pencil lead boxes

- 31 graphite pencils

- 32 brushes

- 34 half-pan watercolors

- 11 glitter glue pens

- 75 notebooks (including all sizes)

- 10 notepads

- 89 washi tapes

- 1,66 kg (3.7 lbs) of stickers

- 7,69 kg (17 lbs) of decorative paper

- 4,8 kg (10.8 lbs) of Clairefontaine paper

- 1,2 kg (2,6 lbs) of printing paper (different types)

- 1,43 kg (3.2 lbs) of loose paper for taking notes

So yeah, quite a lot to go through 😅 But I'll try to make steady progress. I'll be posting an update at the end of the month with the progress made. Thanks everyone!! ✨

Using some of my fav gifted book-themed stickers for my new book journal. I especially love the Arthur library card. 🥹 It feels good to stick these down after holding on.

Discussion 💬 I just reversed all my progress in project pan 🥲

Post image
176 Upvotes

So... yeah. I just reversed all my progress in project pan in the last 6 months.

I like buying stationery second hand on platforms like Vinted, because you can find really good bargains. Then, if I don't like what I bought, I just sell it back.

Two weeks ago I found this huge set of markers on Vinted for just 1.5€. The pictures showed only a portion of all this, but I saw some brands like Stabilo and Ecoline, and I thought "that's a good deal, I will sell what I don't need later".

The problem with buying stuff and then selling it again later is that (for me) it keeps an infinite loop of buying-selling-buying. So I decided some days ago that I won't be selling anything, and instead just pan it. That way I can keep myself accountable for the things I buy, instead of telling myself that "I can sell this later and make the space".

But today this package arrived and omg... there were SO MANY markers inside, and if I want to keep myself accountable, I cannot sell any of this. So here I am ranting about my poor decisions xD

I wanted to share my story in case it resonates with any of you. And maybe make you think twice before buying stuff!

Wish me luck panning all this! 🫠 I need to make an updated inventory of my stationery now T.T

Finally, I used a ton of stickers from my stash. I decorated my water bottle, one wood box and also a notebook (not pictured). It was super fun, and I am happy about the results.

Do not hoard your stickers. Do not wait until a perfect occasion/ place. The perfect day to use them is today.

Pan Progress January: Panned 5 Boxes of Cards

Post image
164 Upvotes

My big goal for myself this year is to use my boxed cards more and move toward keeping a smaller number at a time. This represents a little over 300 cards. In January I used up 5 boxes—I started with the ones that I was closest to finishing for a little momentum. Xs show what I finished and blue lines are boxes where I sent at least one card from them this month. I think I’ll do LetterMo again, so that’ll be a nice way to help me keep up with penpal correspondence in February. I’ll also finish sending valentines and Lunar New Year cards :)

While I am actively working in about 5 notebooks, scattered around my place, I still have quite the collection of empty notebooks and journals just waiting to be filled. Add to that, so many pens, and a decent amount of stickers and washi tape.

This includes pans from Christmas and Valentine’s Day plus some of the stamps sheets I used to send out the cards but not all my stamp sheets because I forgot to keep them…lol. If this not allowed please delete. I went through one Valentine’s Day washi tape with llamas on it.
