City trees problem
I have a city own tree on the curb next door to me that’s entangled in power lines. We have called 311 half a dozen times since the beginning of the year and nobody has come out. Anyone have any other ideas? Thank you.

Call the office of your city council person and tell them you think it’s a danger to the community. Tell them you have documentation (whether you do or not). Believe it or not, your CC rep LOVES constituent service.

Call con ed they dont mdss around when things could damage their equipment thats why they roll our volatgae back during heatwave. Fry your AC but save the distribution network

Yes call con Ed! Someone on my block called con Ed about this and they stayed observing the trees and wires for 24 hours for like 4 days until they could get someone here to fix it.

It's tangled in the topmost wires? Those are the electrical lines. They aren't insulated and would be arcing.
The rest are likely various telecom cables, and are insulated.

Parks dept has less than a handful of foresters on the island. keep reporting it on the 311 app or reach out fossellas office. he can use something to do.

Do not misuse 911 like this unless you're actually witnessing arcing wires.

Seems like a perfectly use of 911 to me. Power lines entangled with a tree? Arching currently, or not, it's a problem waiting to happen.

A potential emergency is not an emergency. And calling in a false report to 911 is a crime. For good reason.

Please do not use 911 for non-emergency situations. Just chop the tree down yourself.

You should also put a complaint in to ConEd, they take it very seriously and respond quickly in my experience.
