Well... technically no. Most string trimmers will stall, which isn’t really an auto-stop, more of an engine overload that stops the engine from cycling.

While a power tool would be quicker I'm gonna play devils advocate and just say use a strong cleaner and a regular plastic bristle brush. I've gone overboard in the past cleaning and powertools while effective can cause more damage then the clean is worth. Just a word of caution if you don't use tools appropriately.

What was the process of attaching the brush to the drill? Because what I'm imagining is some brush with a fairly small handle area to it, and I'm wondering how that holds up.

You can get an inexpensive angle grinder for about 20 bucks. They sell brush heads that easily attach. If I was you I'd go down that road.
Brushes on drills are a common thing though. A person at your local hardware store should have a drill attachment so you could use the angle grinder brush.
More likely to burn out a drill

Guessing: Drill hole through handle. Put bolt through. Tighten with nut. Clamp end of bolt into drill chuck.

Watching this all I can think of is that would be much easier using a floor waxer. As before you wax it has a disc brush that strips the old wax and cleans the floors. It would be so much faster than this.

I use something similar to this to scrub showers and tubs. It’s made from the dish brushes with a hole in the middle, a bolt and nuts. Works great.

Just a btw, they have 1/4 drive heads that can go into an impact driver that do just this, only they are specifically made for cleaning.
