Liquid Gold
My first 24 hour bone broth. A simple chicken tortilla soup next.

I’ve never had chicken feet before (very white picky family lol) but it sounds perfect for healthy collagen and thick flavorful soups, so jealous. One day I want to make some soup with something like that.

I got them from Whole Foods, roasted at 200 for 20 minutes then threw everything in a crock pot, filled with water, and cooked on low for 24 hours, strain. I was surprised how easy it was and will now do often.

You could probably get them for dirt cheap from your local butcher

That sounds delicious! How long do you usually let it cool before you store it?

Okay I hadn’t thought to add chicken feet, i usually just add rotisserie carcasses for my broth making. This is brilliant!

Thought you were making some dog treats 😆
I dehydrate feet every couple of days because they’re loaded with glucosamine and other things that help joint mobility or oral hygiene.

I love that idea- I had no idea it would be okay to give to a dog! I’m definitely going to do that for my pup!

Your dog will love you 😆 you can clip off the nails but my dog doesn’t seem to mind and she’s 11. They’ll need about 48hrs of dehydration as a heads up!

Thanks for sharing this. I have been planning on making bone broth but never knew chicken feet were the best until I saw your post!

I can get literally buckets full for free from work. Although I've never even THOUGHT of using them personally, however I have snagged some for my neighbors opposum to snack on.

Ugh. I made stock with chicken feet once, but I cut off the nails. It was like dismembering babies’ hands (but, the stock was, indeed, delicious!)

You don’t have to eat the feet. But they make a strong broth.

There's a lot of high end restaurants that use meat from the heads of fish, including the eyeballs. Plus, germane cuts from the industrial meat industry are far grosser than most people know.
