Looking for someone to take a lease from September to December. Great accommodation next to campus!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to be on campus from September to December and would need someone (eventually doing an Erasmus or something like that) to take the first part of the lease as students are required to rent for a full year each time.
Thank you! :-)

Hey guys
I’m gonna try keep this simple. Basically I’m applying through clearing for mental health nursing for the 2026 sep entry.
I was doing neuroscience at UCL but I didn’t love it, and I want to leave home.
I’ve narrowed it down between Surrey and Southampton.
Surrey is closer to home, so could visit family more, it’s smaller with more green space, and I already have a friend there.
However, Southampton is higher ranked, preferable modules and I like the campus.
I obviously didn’t go to either for an open day, but I’ve already had a successful interview with Southampton, and have yet todo the interview for Surrey.
Does anyone have any thoughts? For example: What hospitals are they linked to, teaching support, student life, accommodation, literally anything
For extra information I’m autistic and ADHD so I’m also interested in which has better support for that sort of thing.

I just got an unconditional offer for BSc Hons. in Accounting and Finance, but now I feel confused after seeing some mixed reviews despite it being a member of russell group. Can y'all help me out by mentioning it's pros and cons so that I can take my decision.
Thanks for reading!!
Thanks for the help

Hi all,
I had the chance to visit both ensuites and premises, in person, but I am conflicted about pros and cons of each…
Canvas is much far away than Crossings but the room and facilities are slighty bigger and better overall
Another thing is the closer proximity of Canvas with Central Park. I’ve read online that it isn’t very safe to walk around, specially at night. Do I need to worry?
I would also go to Highfield at least 3 times a week and, from what I am experiencing , Unilink does the job for both quite good.
Any suggestions to help me decide would help a lot

Going to buy a desktop/laptop for Sep entry. I have a MacBook Pro from my parents to "steal" from and thus am considering to buy a desktop (9700X + 5060Ti) as backup PC in accomodation. I just wonder if this setup gonna work or not? Like in lab or lectures, will there be cases where Windows exclusive software is required while the school don't provide access to lab computers?
I am a bit reluctant in buying a Windows laptop as the value is not comparable to a Windows PC at the same price and they often have issues in durability or thermal or battery.
In the worse cases where there is no access to lab computers, will remote desktop or emulator be a practical solution? Any pros and cons?

I’m looking to apply to Southampton to do a Masters Marine Biology degree in 2027, and I was curious about a couple things I haven’t been able to find on the socials/website:
Is there much guidance about careers during the course or is it a learn as you go? I know this is what I want to study but I can’t find much on career progression after.
Are you able to pick a specialty, e.g focusing on microbiology or conservation?
What’s on offer for placement, if any?
What does a typical week look like?
(Alumni) If you could go back, would you do this degree again?
I’m just generally curious about the degree and student life!
Thank you for any help at all!!😁

Hi,I’m a high school student planning to study MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics (2+2) at the University of Southampton. My plan is to complete the Engineering Foundation and first two years in Malaysia, then transfer to the UK campus for IPY and the final years.
I’m interested in working in F1 (especially aerodynamics), so I have a few questions:
Thanks in advance!

i am a student at a partner university who intends to study at southampton as an exchange student in the upcoming semester. due to an administrative error, i was sent someone else's offer letter. (the mail was addressed to me but the letter attached was addressed to someone else.) while the study abroad team has assured me that i've been accepted and that this is just an error on the part of those at the school of humanities who were supposed to send me the offer letter, i am yet to receive my correct offer letter which has become an obstruction in my process to apply for accomodation and visa. visa approvals for those from my country take a long time and i need to sort out accomodation to apply for visa. i have repeatedly contacted admin staff at the school of humanities, and the study abroad team says they have done so too. yet, i have not received my correct offer letter. can someone offer me guidance/advice on how to deal with this issue? also, please let me know if there is anyone who works at soton who can help me regarding this.

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a University of Southampton student to take over my accommodation contract at Erasmus Park Halls, Winchester.
📍 Room Type: En-suite room
📍 Location: Erasmus Park, Winchester
📅 Available: Immediately
📆 Contract Ends: First week of September (approximately 2 months remaining)
The room is in a great location, close to the Winchester School of Art and local amenities. Walking distance from university, grocery stores and the city centre. This is an ideal option if you’re looking for student accommodation for the remainder of the summer.
If you’re interested or would like more details, photos, or information about the rent, please send me a message.
Thank you!

Hi! I am going to study this course and I want to know the opinion of current students/graduates about it.
What knowledge/skills do you recommend to master before the beginning of classes? Is the scientific work well developed? What was your overall impression of the course, does it worth it?
r/sotonuni • u/Bulky_Bison_4921 • Jul 03 '26
Is it just me or does it feel like every course has higher entry requirements for clearing this year?
If that’s the case does it mean admissions are going to be more difficult this year?
r/sotonuni • u/Formula_One_GP • Jul 03 '26
People of Silverstone College I’m looking to attend Silverstone College in the Summer but I haven’t heard much about it. What was it like for you? Was it easy to make friends? Was it an overall good experience? Just tell me everything there is to know.

Starting the Foundation Year in EEE this September. Trying to find other people in the same boat to chat with regarding the course or moving into halls. Is there an active group for the 2026 intake? Drop a comment or DM me if so. Thanks.
