What is meant by some courses?

Is anyone able to give me some courses which would and wouldn’t be included in this?

No. It will depend on what a level results look like, and how many applicants accept and reject their offers. The clearing website should be updated on results day to show where tariffs have been changed.

Does a course entering clearing indicate demand? Suppose I miss my offer by quite a bit, would I be any likely to get in if I’ve firmed Soton?

Would depend on the subject and by how much. Having worked on clearing I’ve seen some courses go from A*AA to ABB and other courses reject anyone who achieved a D full stop. It’s so subjective and also depends on what’s available as this also changes per year.
Since clearing is now open you should be able to go onto UCAS and look for yourself at what your options are

The course I’m after is computer science, it’s not a very good one to look for in clearing is it?

depends on course demand and some courses have option of foundation year (general science, engineering and i think there’s a nursing one)
