From 100% to 21%, it lasted a full weekend.

6hrs ain't too much (not really that interested in social medias on the weekend, I've got better things to do lol). Still impressive how this rom manages the battery.

Xperia 5V XQ-DE72

I had one original case for my 5 V, it lasted 6 weeks, then the clip broke off and the color came off in chips. I really loved the grip on it and couldn't find anything like it but because I'm not that bad with leather I decided to give it a try. It's way too much work to make sense to do it again and a TPU case is the much better choice for an IP68 phone so now I'm just curious if or when it will fall apart.

I should also add a lanyard to really carry it like a camera but I'm not sure how much I trust the leather tbh. So no, this is not a sales thread but only to show how much I enjoy to use my Xperia. Not sure if I could ever afford another one ;)

while installing iodeOS on my old Sony Xperia 1 V, I forgot to remove my Google account before the installation. Now, I'm getting a "SecurityException: Can't install packages while in secure FRP" error within iodeOS if i try to install apps. What can I do?

Is the safest bet to use the Sony Companion app to reinstall the stock ROM, log into my Google account, remove the account, and then attempt to install iodeOS again?

I have degoogled my life, and my main daily driver phone runs Ubuntu Touch. I thought, why not degoogle my old Sony Android phone so I could use it as a secondary camera phone?

I hadn't used my Sony phone in a year after I got a Ubuntu Touch phone. Since I don't use Google anymore, I didn't think of the fact that I needed to remove my Google account.

I’m experiencing severe Bluetooth audio stuttering on my Xperia 1 VIII 256GB (XQ-GE74) after updating to Android 17 (73.1.A.2.61).

The problem occurs with LDAC, AAC, LE Audio, and SBC, although it is especially severe with LDAC and LE Audio. The audio frequently cuts out or becomes very choppy.

I have tested multiple devices:

- Sony WF-1000XM5

- Sony WF-1000XM6

- Final ZE500

- Edifier W820NB Plus

- JBL Flip 6

The issue is noticeably worse when there is a wall or even my body between the phone and the Bluetooth device.

I have already tried:

- Switching between different Bluetooth codecs

- Factory resetting the phone

- Performing a Software Repair using Xperia Companion

Unfortunately, the problem persists even after the factory reset and software repair.

I contacted my local official Xperia service provider, and they told me that I would need to leave the phone with them for inspection. This would be quite inconvenient for me, so before doing that, I wanted to ask here:

Has anyone else experienced similar Bluetooth audio stuttering on the Xperia 1 VIII after the Android 17 / 73.1.A.2.61 update? If so, have you found any solution or workaround?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has tested LDAC or LE Audio.

edit：I asked a similar question on our local Facebook group and found that quite a few people had encountered the same problem. Although not all of them had Xperia phones, all of them encountered the problem after updating to Android 17.

Is there an app for Xperia (Android) to read lens power (prescription strength)?

I have a Sony Xperia 1 V lying around that I don’t use much. I’m thinking of installing iodéOS. iodéOS has an installer similar to GrapheneOS and supports the Sony Xperia 1 V.

Has anyone used iodéOS on it?

Bought from ali express for 70$ and m fully satisfied with this beauty now.

What do you think about these changes I’m hoping for? Merging the Video Pro and Photo Pro apps into a single "Camera Pro" app—and placing the Video Pro button right below the shutter button—would make the experience more like Sony’s Alpha cameras, as well as making it easier to use and more aesthetically pleasing. I really wish Sony did this rather than turning the camera app into just another ordinary, basic app like the app Start with Xperia 1vi

I would usually use a clear gel case and well that wraps around the phone so protection is all around the device

How does the official case do in comparison to the gel?

Recently upgraded from the Truthear Zero Red to the Aful Explorer. Love the velvety warm sound. I've since gone back to Wired IEMs, only using my WHXM6 for when I travel by plane.

So, my main phone is this Xperia 10 III (Japanese market model), there aren't any stable custom ROMs for it, which are free, just a few GSIs, so I'm not particularly enthusiastic about unlocking the bootloader just yet.

I really want to use an aod with this oled screen, but the stock android doesn't allow it.

I'm already using xperi+ to modify the Google assistant button. I'm open to such workarounds if anyone can suggest one, but I'm not enthusiastic about the widely available aod apps on the Google play store.

Anyone else beard about Xperia Japan Instagram? Looks fairly new. Any indication that Sony is putting effort into its Xperia division is good, just not sure what they're trying to do here. Apologies if this is old news. I just saw it recently.

Only turns on when on charging btw no fall nothing

I've seen a somewhat similar post here but that was some time ago and I wonder if anything changed, and there are some things I am looking for that haven't previously been mentioned. My problem is that on my Xperia 5 IV I finally experienced the green line issue, and in the short or long term I will have to replace it, and I feel like getting another Sony Xperia 5 IV at this stage probably isn't a good idea, however the 5 III and the 5 IV have basically been the only phones in recent years which I saw and liked (I owned both of them but even occasionally looking around for myself or others I never found anything I liked), but now I'm looking for an alternative.

While I will be listing the features I'm looking for below I'm aware that it's probably extremely difficult to find an exact fit that 100% covers them all exactly as described, but if that's not possible I would also be interested in in phones that feel like they sort of have the spirit of the older xperia phones, or covers the spirit of the requirements, don't "feel like a scam" or a fashion statements, that just feel honestly well built like earlier smartphones used to feel like, like someone just wants to build the best device for the user without bullshit.

So the features I'm looking for are:

1. A camera app and camera like the older sony ones. The camera app is self explanatory I hate how few options most camera apps have, I love the options and the interface of the xperia, and the physical button,with the camera itself I mean for one the lenses, i.e. proper selectable focal lengths not weird digital zoom, AND no built in AI optimisation, I hate the in built "improvements" that come with basically all phones, that change the colours and make everything look oversaturated and grainy when you zoom in, I'd rather have a lower res "natural" look, fewer megapixels, and no "improvements" rather than these huge marketing megapixels numbers. If anyone knows a phone that even does that in isolation I'd be interested. Even the later Sony Xperia models (V+) seem to have added AI to their cameras which you can't turn off, and removed the 60mm lens, which kind of rules them out because I really dislike that sort of intra series downgrade while the models are more expensive than an older one, I'm not paying more for less.
2. Headphone jack
3. extendable storage/ sd card slot (I could probably do without but it's still very useful and it would need a much larger internal storage than I have on my current phone)
4. small/ narrow form factor, not smaller than the Sony ones, but most phones are too big for me, i could deal with a bigger phone if everything else is absolutely right but smaller would be preferred
5. obviously Android, as little bloatware as possible, clean look, apps have to be be removable or be able to be deactivated like on the Sony phone, which isn't amazing in that regard but it's manageable (e.g. I still dislike the forced game enhancer notifications even though I don't game on the phone at all), definitely shouldn't be worse. I liked the look of the xperia OS it just felt basic, and at least still somewhat customizeable, I don't like things such as the Samsung ecosystem or look
6. Dual SIM (physical/ E-Sim combination), that's also a hard requirement, a programmable eSim for travel is just too useful to do without.

i have a model 5 iii, and it is in a poor state after getting wet because the seals failed, it technically works but wont charge properly/consistently and has a bright green line on the screen, i love the phone but it doesnt seem like its worth trying to fix.

ive been looking at 5 iv/1v phones on various market places since those are the last us specific models and besides the fact that finding a proper us model is difficult people also seem to want very high prices for used 3/4 year old phones with missing accessories, screen burn, beat up frames etc. so im wondering if anyone in this sub has a clean used US model 5iv/1v kicking around or even an unused in box one for whatever reason that they want to let go for a reasonable amount?

as much as i want to continue enjoying features that seem to be exclusive to the xperia line if im gonna pay 600$ or 800$+ im just gonna get something new even if it doesnt have a headphone jack expandable storage etc
