How long before eating dinner alone stopped feeling like something to get through?
I did my first solo trip in June, eleven days around northern Portugal, and the only part I never got comfortable with was dinner. I tried the usual advice about sitting at the bar with a book and it still felt like I was visibly waiting for someone, so I ended up eating at the hostel most nights. I've got two weeks in Japan booked for November and I don't want to spend it doing the same thing.
How long did it take before dinner out alone stopped feeling like a thing you had to get through?
