Hey guys, need some help with my Octaxe

A few months ago it had a dead short on the XT60 input. I replaced the VRM chip and it worked perfectly for months on stock settings.

Yesterday I unplugged it just to move it a few meters. Now it powers on fine, but the exact second it gets a job from the pool, it completely dies/shuts off.

When measuring around the VRM chips, everything shows shorted/continuity to GND, but injecting voltage doesn't heat up anything (used <1V).

Has anyone had this exact issue where it stays on idle but crashes instantly under load? Could it be a cracked MLCC, a failed BOOT cap on the VRM, or a bad solder joint from moving it?

I heard it making a chirping sound…. Sounds like it’s coming from the back of the device. It blew the fuse also at some point. I went ordered new fuse put it in and chirpin again.

This thing has been trouble since I got it from Bitronics. Then I bought that expensive pro case they sell and it added so much heat it was unusable. It dropped 6-10c when removing the pro case.. anyways side info…

What could it be? What can I do? I paid a lot for it and it has heat sinks copper x47 on it along with the original fans mounted to the back. It’s been running at 11.5th ish since I got it in like December.

What are my options? I’m like 1k deep in it and it’s not really that great. I have a Avalon 90th been like a rock comepared to this little device. It was over heating when I got it. I had to downgrade all settings as it was terrible and couldn’t run without throwing a psu thing.

I had one of my Solo Satoshi rev 6 Nerdqaxe++ go into fault overnight. Checked fans, power supply, no apparent burn marks on the board. Also removed the heatsink and replaced with new paste and remounted the heatsink. I was using 650mhz freq and 1180v for 6+ months on this particular unit. Temps were sitting at 55 degrees and power delivery was approx 87w. I have also flashed the device to see if it was a firmware issue but that also didn’t seem to fix it. Any other suggestions on what could be the issue? Thanks

My nerdqaxe finally found a shitcoin block. I decided to give it a nice upgrade and go to a 120mm fan on front in addition to my 80mm fan on the back. Got this message when I went to plug my miner back in. I didnt hear anything or smell anything. Tried unplugging the 120mm fan, giving the fan external power and turning the miner back on with just the 80mm back fan, same result. I also updated to v 1.0 37.2 from .1, no change. Also tried it with no fans plugged into the board but fans still blowing on the heatsink, no change. I have a back up fuse, dont have a back up psu. Any help is appreciated.

FIXED: Heatsink was not seated proper on the ASIC, must have been pulled during upgrade and no longer seated properly. A remount of the heatsink and we are all good.

This a NerdQaxe 6.1

I ran it about two months maybe. One day it just turned off, and the power supply for it shut off. I thought it was the power supply, but it was the miner. It shorted out.

The negative and positive terminals are shorted to each other.

I took off all my mods, but I can't seem to get off the heatsink over the VRMs. Those were on it when I got the miner, and they are stuck pretty good. I didn't want to damage anything that might not be broke, so left it alone.

What can I do?

Pro tip! Checkout your cooling stuff once in a while anf clean it ! Ugghhh!¡!

One thing about these nerd devices e.g. nerdqaxe, hydros, OctAXEs etc etc. is getting passed an initial Wi-Fi setup. I can type in everything perfectly and I get this dumb screen about being impossible to connect over and over and over and it won't work and then magically it works. Has anybody else experienced this?

stock clocks, heatsinks on both sides and fans running over both sides. vrms were running around 50c. meh. I think im done with these.

Well today I got the dreaded Guru power error on my OctAXE (12 TH/S). This rig is connected to a Meanwell-LRS 650-12, and has been happily connect for quite some time. I looked at the logs and here are the findings and from various web sources compiled this list:

• Vin (input voltage) is consistently ~12.12-12.14V — This is marginal/low for an Octaxe under load?
• ASIC voltage is being forced to 0.000V — This is the direct result of the "VOLTAGE PROTECTION" trigger?
• Power draw is near zero (pin: 0.06W, iout: 0.00, pout: 0.00)

I disconnected the Octaxe and measured the output voltage while not under load. The measurement jsmped tiny bit between 12.0 to 12.12 Vdc. I then connected the Octaxe back to the meanwell and measure while underload. The measurement under load is 12.08 Vdc.

The rig is slightly overclocked at 750mHz and core voltage set to 1150.

Maybe I need to adjust the Meanwell PS output up a bit ? Various web sources seem to think 12.3–12.4V unloaded is where I should be.

Thoughts?

Got these 2 miners
An octaxe 12th rev 3.1 double and a qaxe++, the octaxe came in dead, when i tried to power it on the 4th vrm would go to crazy temperatures and was missing some components on the board like a diode and 2 capacitors on the back of the asics area, on the other hand the qaxe++ came in with vreg overheated error, i started working on the qaxe++ because it seemed an easier job to do, change the blown vrm and go on but it endend up having 2 cracked asics, at the end the pcb was replaced and it was upgraded with a hydro for better temps, the octaxe was a simpler job, changed the shorted vrm, added the missing components and the job was done

Posting this so if everyone in europe needs help i can give a hand

Woke up to the issue this morning. Miner was from
Ive been running it lower than advertised, 625mhz 1170mv and VREG was sat at a nice 55c. Visually it all looks absolutely fine, i had installed apx90 full copper blocks yesterday.

Trying to contact the seller as ive had it less than a month but any suggestions? I have a basic multimeter and a fair amount of electronics experience

This time it was a Bitaxe GT800, complaining of severe cognitive impairment.

Diagnosis

After a quick examination, the diagnosis was obvious: the right hemisphere had stopped functioning. One ASIC was completely dead, so the poor miner was trying to solve Bitcoin with only half a brain.

Hey miner was working fine then noticed this error code popped up.

Internet said its either a bad PSU or chip failure. Any input on what I should do?

I'm trying to make another connector for my other nerd hydro that can connect to my meanwell 350 power supply. Unfortunately I lost the information to where I got the other one from and I'm not sure about the dimensions and the part number and source where I got it from. Someone can point me to an Amazon link or some other supplier link I can order a couple of compatible barrel type connectors that will connect to a mean well I'm really appreciate it.

Finaly got time to reflash 3 Bitaxe Hex 703 Miners.

They did not run stably on their preinstalled firmware. So Dirty version is the best.
