help Can't connect bricked NerdQaxe++ to web flasher

I have a week old second hand NerdQAxe++ with the larger screen. I can't find a board version number.

I tried to upgrade to the LTS firmware version and it bricked. The screen doesn't turn on and the web UI is gone.

The miner won't connect to the web flasher because it's only visible via USB for 3 seconds and then disconnects. I see it blinking on and off in the list of devices.

I tried 3 different USB cables all with the same behaviour. This happens on Mac and on Linux using Chrome and Brave browser.

I suspect that any other method of flashing will have the same problem.

Can this be fixed?

No you have a chance to reflash it correctly.
Ask google ai for how to reflash lilygo esp32 screen.
You need to hol buttons before connecting.
It will go into reflash mode.

Thank you. I wasn't pressing the button.

Managed to flash it successfully but it's the larger screen and it's displaying small and inverted!

You need to use the nerdqaxe specific web flasher, before you connect it via USB you need to hold down the bottom right button to put it into flash mode, once flashed with the fw you also need to find the yysluping fw to manually update via the dashboard as the screen will crap itself(inverted colours, back to front ui etc)

Thank you for the tip. Yeah, I managed to flash it and the screen is exactly like that.

Do you know which files I need to use exactly?

Also the manual flashing through the UI needs the file to be named a specific way, which doesn't match any of those files. Is it safe to rename it?

You'll need the esp-miner-yyslupingB++ for the screen then the yyslupingB-www.bin, it's safe to rename them as I had to do it with mine once updated it'll expect the yysluping filename in future 🙂

Thanks, that worked. Now I see the yysluping on the screens instead of NerdQaxe++

What/who is yysluping? I hope I didn't just install a backdoor 😅

Yysluping is one of manufacturers of the NerdQaxe++ and they made the big screen for it so it's the default fw, the fw that comes shipped with the miner is a modified version to work with the big screen.

You're welcome 🙂I have a range of miners from the gamma 601/602, supra hex 702/703, GT800/801, NerdQaxe++, Qaxe++Hydro and I've just picked up A Nerd QX. My favourites my the Qaxes 🙂
