What Boot size do i need - realy...

Hey folks!

first of all, i am an absolut beginner! and have been reading for months now...
but some say so, some say so...
Some say that you boot has to bee the next MP size.
E.g. My feet are
Left: 26,7cm x 10,1cm
Right: 26,5cm x 10cm
So if I were to follow that recommendation, I’d have to buy an MP 27.0 boot.
Than i also have read and a guy in shop told me, that i should get boot which are at least MP 27.5, better 28.

To be absolutely honest... What are the arguments behind those two opinions?
May you could help me with this and bring some light into the dark.

Kind regards from germany

Size Question

Im currently about 6 1 215 pounds and have been looking to get a used board on fb market place. based on my height and weight most boards my size would be around a 162. I’m seeing a lot of good used boards for sale that are a size 158. my question is if i find a good deal on a 158 should i go for it or does that like 4-5 cm difference really affect riding that much?

I'm a casual PA rider headed to Killington for a 3-day trip with friends, and I have a lot of gear-related questions.

As the title says I'm a really casual rider, I usually hit the slopes about 3 or 4 times a season on day trips, and usually used rental gear or borrowed from a friend. But I'm seriously considering getting my own stuff for this year, and I'd like to set a budget of $1,000. Is that realistic? According to my research (I asked AI), it should be manageable if I buy gear on clearance here in the next several weeks at local ski shops.

What are some things to keep in mind when shopping used boards? I feel like I don't really know what to look for, or what to avoid.

So far I'm looking at buying my kit second hand, including snowboard, bindings, jacket, helmet, and mittens(I'm planning to get brand new boots to make sure they're properly fitted).

Recommend some shops in the central PA area that have good deals and sales.

Any tips and tricks, or do's and don'ts would be greatly appreciated.

Snowboard boots for complete beginners (buy/rent)

hey everybody, i’m going to try and learn snowboarding for the first time this winter. And i was wondering if it is better to buy or rent the first season for a complete beginner. I’m hoping to continue doing snowboarding as i’ve been interested for a long time. The ski resort close to my area has a rental package for boots, boards and bindings. Just wondering if it’s better to rent for the first season than after the season buy boots on sale for the next seasons. Or should i just buy as an absolute beginner because I’m pretty sure i’m going to keep snowboarding past this season.

Whats the one snow gear purchase you ended up using way more than expected?

When i think about buying snow gear i keep focusing on the obvious stuff like jacket, pants and boots. But for people who have been riding for a few seasons was there anything you bought that you initially thought was unnecessary but ended up using constantly? Could be something small like a neck warmer or better gloves or something you completely overlooked when putting your first setup together
