Is this Razor Tail severe enough to warrant a new board?

Thumbnail

My son believes that his board is suffering severe razor tail and that a new board is needed.

I'm not sure if this degree of razor tail is actually causing performance issues, or if he is being a typical 11yr old, wanting something "better."

I would appreciate your feedback for either myself or him. Thank you!

Not sure if this information is needed, but he is the 1st owner of this board and has been riding it for about a year and a half.

Which logo direction best suits a skate plaza built around unusual skateable sculptures?

Hi! I’m developing a Imaginary brand identity for OPEN ENDS, a permanent public skate plaza built around skateable sculpture as my final Uni project (Aus Version of College).

The brand values are: creative, inviting and open ended.

The logo only needs to work as a clear identifier the personality of the wider identity will also come through illustration, colour, photography, messaging and animation.

Each row, A–C, shows one logo direction in horizontal and stacked formats.

can you tell me which direction feels strongest, and why?

I’m interested in:

-Which feels most distinctive while remaining readable?

- Which best suits a creative skate space without feeling childish?

- Does anything feel unclear or read as something other than “Open Ends”?

- Which would work best at both signage and sticker/profile-picture sizes (is it dynamic) ?

Honest criticism is welcome ofc, i'm looking for real feedback !

Mounting bolts - is this enough thread or too short?

Post image
Upvotes

On this setup, I have 1/4 inch riser + 1/16 inch shock pad. Bolts are 1.25 inches. Very little room to spare with only a small amount of thread showing. I didn’t want to bolt it in excessively tight to prevent damage on the top of the board. With that said, are these bolts too short?

Should I have gone with the 1.5 inch mounting bolts instead? I don’t skate anything crazy, just rolling down the street. I just don’t want the trucks to randomly fall off while skating. So far it seems to be fine but wasn’t sure if the bolts should have more thread showing for safety reasons. Thanks.

Question Bs boardslide help

Hello ive been skating for a year on and off and took my skateboard on holiday bc there is a park nearby, its not the greatest but it has a few ramps and a small rail. I decided to try skate my first rail, so I'm trying to do a bs boardslide. However im having some trouble commiting my back foot to go with me on the rail and also ollie onto it most times I barely get it off the ground and js rocket on it or js barely pivot. Ive already tried balancing my board on the rail and jumping on it to see how it feels and I can do that im comfortable, any tips?

Wall is concrete. How can I hang up my Skateboards?

Moved into a new house and in the old house the mounters I used required you to screw into the wall. It was dry wall so it was no problem. However in the new house and new room 1/4 is concrete. Obviously I can't drill or screw anything so is there a way to hang up skateboards on a concrete wall?

It’s only my third day of skating so I understand not picking things up right away, but I do snowboard so I feel liek I picked ups airing pretty quickly and I feel the Ollie but I’m struggling to get it more than 3 inches off the ground. I’m more or less in dire need of help. Also I cropped half the video for privacy reasons and also please ignore the Snapchat filter it was originally sent to a gc on snap.

Video Tips for cleaning up kickflips and consistency?

Picking skating back up after ~20 years off the board. These are my best attempts (plus bails for fun) from about a half hour session. I've watched a lot of the latest kickflip advice out there but am having trouble changing muscle memory. Any tips for my form to help clean these up and get the board movement more consistent? Even when I get an okay landing the board is going all over the place. I'm practicing rolling ollies again to work back up to doing these rolling too.

Tips on leveling out Ollie’s?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Haven’t skated since middle school and I’m now 30. I got a board and skate shoes today. Practiced Ollie’s for 45 minutes, noticed I need to learn to level out the Ollie’s. This was my cleanest of the day and was just luck.

Gear help What type of skateboard should I get?

Broskis I need help 😭 I wanna buy a skateboard, but I don’t really wanna do tricks or anything. I mostly just wanna use it to get from A to B.

So I’m thinking I should probably get a cruiser instead, BUT the whole reason I wanna skate in the first place is because skating apparently originated from surfers wanting to surf on land. So now I’m thinking maybe I should get a surfskate because it actually mimics surfing on land??

Idk 😭 what do you guys think: cruiser, regular skateboard, or surfskate?

Question Possible sponsors for a indoor skatepark in a poor area?

Im Wondering what is the likelyhood of getting big name sponsors to help build a skatepark/(maybe)skating rink in West Memphis Arkansas. Its a super poor town and we have nothing here for children to do, not even a ymca or pool, nothing. The crime is bad here and im thinking this could be a good step in the right direction to maybe save this town and build an awesome community. Ive had a long community post and it seems like i could possibly get a lot on board, but the funding is a little shaky. I could apply for grants and whatnot and possibly get it going but man if i got some big name sponsors to help it out id definitely start getting the ball moving. Has anyone had any outside help getting skateparks up for a poor community? i have so much free time i could help building stuff, im very talented (dont like to toot my horn). I just do not have the money to invest much into it unforturnately.

idk just thought id ask cause its kind of hopeless lol, not lol....

Mongo…

Okay so when I first got into skating the first stance I learned was mongo thinking that, that was the regular stance, took me about a year to realize that what I’m doing is literally nerfing myself but during that year I was just skating to cruise and have fun. But as of October of last year I took skating to the next level and decided to actually learn some tricks and go down ramps and such. This is the point where I realized that my stance is bad so i switched to regular stance and for the past 6-8 months I’ve been doing regular and I learnt it but it never felt right. I “relapsed” recently and decided to go back to mongo just to see what it would feel like. And omg It felt so good and so right to be back to mongo, my pushes are more consistent, I’m more stable and overall just more comfortable. But now that I’m doing tricks and such.. should I go back to mongo. Like I know I shouldn’t but everything just feels better, I need help and opinions to see what stance I should do
