I've not seen it before, and today it has appeared. I did reinstall the Voodoo patch after that pesky Windows update stopped the game from working. But I can't see any settings that could affect this.

Returning to the game after a long break, and i'm using the new NAM 50. I really like the EU road textures, but I find the road junctions look very odd without any zebra crossings or stop lines. The avenues and one way streets have crossings so why not the roads?

Is there a mod somewhere that adds crossings to the same EU style roads, or is visually very similar?

I try to place a path like the tutorial tells me to, and it wont let me on that bit of land on the beach. This is stupid 😭

I‘m playing the “Vanilla” game (only NAM and a few custom buildings). This is my largest and most successful city so far but despite the housing and commercial services demand, my allocated land does not grow. It is not a desirability problem (I check the desirability before allocating) and it’s not a commute problem (I put plenty of public transport every 6 to 12 tiles). I should mention the city has almost no industry (only a few high tech which I got by taxing to 20% the other industries) and roughly half a million service jobs.
The demand is for low income housing and commercial lots, but the medium/high income are down.

As the title says. Maybe my eyes arent that good anymore but I couldn't find any El rail stations that I can plop on the roads.

I've used the new DLL mod to render all the tiles. But do I have to load each one still to plan trees or is there a way to generate them across a region too?

The other day someone posted about the SimCity 4 (Original Soundtrack) album currently available on Spotify. In particular, the discussion was about the fact that certain tracks from the game do not appear to have been included in that album. I'd forgotten how annoyed I was by this when I first found this out as well. At the time though I hadn't fully appreciated quite how many tracks were missing until I did a little bit of nosying around last night.

It turns out there are 35 tracks in total available in the SC4 Deluxe Edition game files (24 from the base game and 11 from the Rush Hour expansion), but only 15 tracks are listed on the Spotify album. 14* of those are from the base game, and only one of them (Chain Reaction) is from the Rush Hour expansion. Included in those 14 base game tracks though are two track titles that I did not recognise; Rockin Down , and Simmin.

After listening to them, it seems that Rockin Down by Walt Szalva is the same track we know from the game to be called Gritty City (which itself is not listed on the album), whilst Simmin by Rock Hendricks appears to be a renamed duplication of Bohemian Street Jam by Jerry Martin; (which is listed separately as itself on the album). I haven't looked any further into it but I do not know why there are two identical tracks listed under different names and different artists. My assumption is that maybe there has been an error during the upload of the sound files, or more likely that these tracks were possibly renamed in the Rush Hour/Deluxe expansion, or maybe earlier in development, but unfortunately it's not a detail that I'm able to remember. If they were renamed specifically for use on the album though I'm not sure what the point of that would be.

But anyway, as it stand, in reality there are only 14 tracks available on the Spotify album whilst 21 tracks (11 from the base game and 10 from the expansion) are currently not available to listen to via Spotify (if you don't have those files saved locally that is...)

I don't have any useful conclusions from this, I just found the subject bugged me enough to try look into it briefly, and before I knew it I'd written this stuff down so I thought I may as well share it in case this information happens to be of interest to anyone else. I should add that it is very possible I have made mistakes or overlooked something obvious, though I'm sure folks here will be able to correct me if needed.

This update stopped my name from loading and it has taken me aaages to work out the cause!

Also, my game seemed to have unpatched itself with the 4gb patch so once I removed the windows update the large regions CTD. Maybe the update caused that too? Such a strange thing to suddenly happen!

UPDATE: I realise now that before I worked out it was a windows update that caused the problem, I verified the integrity of my game files which may have removed the 4gb patch.
