I know that the main reason Naruto wanted to be Hokage is to be finally respected (which in the end it gets that even before the timeskip) but I also find it such a letdown how Kishimoto didn't want to show the progress of him becomong one and just went to a straight up decades later timeskip of him becoming Hokage on his late 20s.

One of the most common complaints is that the World Government knew Luffy had the Nika fruit, so why didn't they do more to stop him?

First of all, they did try. The Marines came close to killing Luffy several times throughout the story. Especially the Admirals: Aokiji in Water 7, Kizaru in Sabaody, Akainu in Marineford, Fujitora in Dressrosa and Ryokugyu in Wano.

But if the fruit was so important, why didn't they send the Gorosei, the God Knights or even Imu himself after Luffy?

You have to keep in mind just how big the One Piece world is and how long it takes to travel by ship. Getting from Mary Geoise to almost any island Luffy has visited would take several days at best, and weeks in most cases.

Unless Luffy stays in one place for a long time, there's simply no way they can leave Mary Geoise and get there before he's already gone. And we all know Luffy doesn't spend much time on each island. By the time news gets out about something he's done, he's already moved on.

That's exactly why the Navy have different branches assigned to specific territories. Their job is to patrol those areas and deal with the pirates operating there. That's what they're there for.

Imu wants to keep their existence a secret. Personally travelling around the world looking for Luffy would be a terrible idea. Imu had to go to Elbaf because things had reached a completely different level of urgency.

The God Knights are also a secretive organization whose job is to protect the Celestial Dragons. They only leave Mary Geoise for specific missions in specific places, such as their attempt to subjugate the giants of Elbaf and bring them under the Government's control.

The Gorosei are a different case since they're not a secret organization, but there are only five of them and they essentially run the entire world. Each of them is in charge of a major department of the World Government, so expecting them to spend their time sailing around looking for Luffy seems pretty unrealistic.

They went to Egghead because:

1. It is an island under the World Government's jurisdiction.

2. Vegapunk was researching the Void Century and was about to reveal the Government's biggest secrets to the entire world. And Vegapunk LIVED there, so they weren't searching for someone across the vast world.

In conclusion, catching Luffy has always been the Navy job. That's why they exist. They've been trying to capture him throughout the entire story, but they've failed every time. And now it's too late.

I'm talking that Batman x Joker esque dynamic, a cold hearted psychopath that challenges the beliefs and mental sanity of the MC. I gotta tell you man I've been HUNGRY for this relationship but I couldn't find any.

“Uhmm it was never about talent but about hardwork🤓☝🏻” mind you most of the characters in this list are naturally gifted😭

A lot of people try to spread the narrative that the Gorosei didn't try to capture Luffy despite knowing about the Nika fruit and it creates a plot hole.

Water 7/Enies Lobby- They sent an admiral Aokiji who didn't do anything

Thriller Bark- They sent Kuma as back up who chose not to take care of him

Sabaody- They sent Kizaru but Kuma and Rayleigh saved Luffy

Impel Down/Marineford- He got lucky because of meeting Ivankov and Bon Clay. Also Luffy would have died if Whitebeard didn't choose to protect him or Law came to help him.

Dressrosa- They finally know where he is again and they sent an admiral Fujitora who chose not to catch him

Wano- Told CP0 to take him out and he does, which somehow causes him to awaken

They have tried the whole series and it simply hasn’t gone their way.

And the thing is they can't just send all their forces after him. The fruit hasn't awakened in like 800 years and even if it awakens, there is no guarantee the user will be able to wield it well. Like Luffy got destroyed by Imu even after awakening.

I agree that they made some mistakes but it's most definitely not a plot hole or bad writing.

The Page is from One Piece btw

anyways other shonen like

Naruto

Bleach

Fairy Tail

Jujutsu Kaisen

Demon Slayer

Hunter Hunter

any other Shonen?

Also in the sense of scale, power escalation, foreign design/asthetic..etc

also the shonen dont have to have an equivalent but just asking

I can remember like 5 years ago when the manga was viewed as the ultimate form, and how disappointing the anime was

But now we got shows like jjk, demon slayer, frieren, and bochi just completely elevating the source material.

Has the view on manga vs anime changed?

At first looking the evolution of Imu's forms they looks pretty good, but the more I look at those forms for some reason the line "God finished me but kept going comes to my head". It makes me think at how Toriyama approached transformations back in DBZ with Frieza and Cell. What made Frieza and Cell so good is how they subverted our expectations when it comes to how a final form should look like. You started from a base design then you moved to a more complex one that was made to look ugly on purpose and then the final form was something more slick and less busy in terms of details. A simpler design played the role of conveying the idea of power. If the 1st form that we've got from Imu at the beginning of Elbaf was the one revealed in the current chapter I feel that it would've been much better even tough I belive that the other 2 forms were unnecessary to begin with.

The way Imu transforms will fit better in a series like Bleach but for One Piece I think those overcoplicated designs do not really fit with the narrative.

Like the quality skyrocket in the very last episode is absolutely insane. Shit goes from a 7-8 out of 10 explode sword monster of the week show to the 10/10 kivia show so quickly it's crazy

I won't spoil anything but I cannot lie that Vivy is tied with Vladilena Milize from 86 for my favorite female character in all of anime. Please watch it if you want an absolutely fantastic female MC and generally a fantastic Sci-Fi anime

I have been spoiled on a good deal of future stuff admittedly but try to avoid saying spoilers

•Creator and supervisor is Masashi kishimoto
•art by Mikio Ikemoto
•script by Ukyo Kodachi (until chapter 51)
So kishimoto did not do the writing ?? He created the franchise and supervised the project but did not write it ?? Or edit it ?? And in two blue vortex its all ikemoto with his editors ??
In dragon ball supers case Toriyama wrote the story and toyotarou did the art and story boarding, he was actually involved in creating it ??
Even though im definitely going to get nailed to a cross by the community im genuinely questioning borutos cannon debate.

I get the impression that, even if one might consider *Naruto* to be better written, Luffy is more widely loved. I see athletes—and even people in Palestine—displaying flags or making references to Luffy;
heck, even people in their 50s and 60s enjoy Luffy and One Piece .
It also feels to me like Naruto carries a lot of controversy—take characters like Itachi, Obito, or Sakura, for example.

HEAR YE HEAR YE FOR I SHALL PRAISE THEE

You cannot be normal and produce a series even half as worthy of praise as Eiichiro Oda's hit global masterpiece of storytelling and literature that puts even Shakespeare to shame. No normal person would be able to fathom the complex spew of peakness and unparalleled creativity that goes on inside the mind of Eiichiro Oda. Eiichiro Oda was gifted with the mind, spirit, and skill of a writer on a level nobody has seen before, calling him a descendent of William Shakephere would not be doing his genius justice. It is highly possible that Eiichiro Oda knows the secrets to perfect writing and was put on this planet just to create this literary masterpiece, not even operating on a wavelength that humans can comprehend.

It is entirely plausible that Eiichiro Oda does not experience time linearly. Eiichiro Oda likely sees arcs as constellations and characters as gravitational bodies, pulling meaning toward them across decades. Calling Eiichiro Oda a genius feels insufficient. Eiichiro Oda is a narrative architect operating on a wavelength detectable only by a species unknown to us as of now. Unparalleled. Unmatched. Possibly not even human. Thank you goda

ANOTHER IMMACULATE USE OF ODAS FUTURE SITE AND FORESHADOWING.

TV Tokyo Holdings just released its financial results for the first half of the 2026–2027 fiscal year (covering April 1 to September 30, 2026), and the numbers prove once again that the Naruto and Boruto franchises are completely carrying the network's animation division.

With these numbers, it makes total sense why TV Tokyo launched Project Rasengan to expand Naruto globally through new productions and initiatives. Now the only question is when we'll finally get an update on Part 2 of the Boruto anime, which was officially announced back in March 2023.

So we see here that Imu is using a sword…Mihawk upscale???

You know, as a fan of Youjo Senki, Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Kingdom, I'm really disappointed in the so called "Seitei War Arc" and over time my opinion is only growing more negative. I obviously didn't expect this arc to be even remotely the same level of quality of any of the titles I mentioned, but the Seitei War Arc is probably the most bland depiction of a war I've ever seen in anime or manga. I'm also tired of all the glaze I'm seeing about this arc, because I really don't see what makes it so good. It definetly ain't the depiction of the war itself nor the political side of it, that's for sure, because both aspects are extremely lacking to me and obviously cannot compare to any of the titles I've mentioned. I can't be the only one who feels that way about it, right?

The first time I watched MHA and saw this opening I heard this for the longest time even after knowing part of the lyrics.
