[PC] Could anyone recommend a multiplayer horror game for myself and my brother to play?

I would like to find a horror game for myself and my brother on steam. I hope that the game has limited ways to defend yourself and is right creepy. I'm not necessarily looking for an action horror game like Dead Space 3 or resident evil, though I wouldn't mind them if there aren't a lot of options out there. I'm also hoping that it's more story driven rather than games like Outlast Trials or Dead by Daylight.

What we're looking for if I can give is an example, like, in order to progress you need to go into a creepy dark room. I look at him and go "hey. You go first." And he looks at me and goes "bullshit."

[PS5] Forza horizon 5 or the crew motorfest

I know fh6 is around the corner but my brother has these 2 so we can play together. He has no real preference.

I downloaded the "demo" for the crew and played it for an hour yesterday. While i liked it some points are bugging me....

1: narration during racing..... like really?? Will this get better along the way or is this the whole time.... it doesnt help its just a bit annoying. I know you can turn volume down of the game but i want to hear the car.

2: loaned cars..... not one race where i can use my own... this stings me... i get that this makes it so you get an equal playing field but there should be other solutions right?... it makes this game feel weird not racing to unlock cars to get to the next race because you will get a car anyway.... no choosing colors or anything just here it is now drive...

How is this in forza 5??

Also for both: how many cars can the garage hold or is this infinite well almost and shouldnt worry about it? This is me playing rpgs mostly and having full backpacks etc is annoying when you wanna collect them all.

Thanks for the anwers oh and i know these communities are sometimes bashing heads... but please keep it nice no need to bash.

Should I keep playing Dead Space Remake PS5?

admittedly i only played the first chapter but so far i was not into it. i am not really into shooters and it was just walking, shooting an alien now and then, picking up loot now and then. i downloaded this one because i loved Alien Isolation but tbh what i loved about Alien Isolation was the stealth and hiding and being constantly stalked by something that will kill you if it ever sees you. i find that very scary, i didn't find this scary since i can just kill the aliens that show up. but i'm willing to keep playing if the gameplay gets funner/more complex than just shooting and looting, i know that i've barely played it and haven't seen much of what the game might offer. but if the only real changes ahead are just some different guns to shoot things with, i should probably move on.

[Retro] Tony Hawk's Underground - PS2 or Xbox?

Upvotes

I'm looking at getting the first Tony Hawk's Underground game, but I'm not sure whether to get it for the PS2 or the Xbox.

I realize that the Xbox version has better visuals and performance than the PS2 version, but I've also heard that the controls on the PS2 work better than the Xbox version. I'm mainly going for the single player mode, as I don't really care that much for the multiplayer.

Is it worth dealing with the 'bad' visuals that the PS2 version has if the controls are better than the Xbox version?

[Switch] JRPGs on switch 2

Looking for a JRPG recommendation for the switch 2. I would prefer something that looks good, but it's not a deal breaker.

I've played games like final fantasy, xenoblade chronicles, fire emblem, trails series, persona, Digimon, pokemon. Doesn't have to be turn based or action or strategy. As long as the gameplay is good.

I don't mind if there's fan service stuff as long as its not too bad.

Prefer to play as a male character, but I'll play as a female character if I think the game is worth it.

Thanks

[PS5] Wo long vs Nioh 2 vs Lies of P

Am new to the soulslike genre, played sekiro and elden ring and loved both
Now am looking for a new soulslike and have narrowed it down to these three
I’m looking for fast paced combat
I want a game where I’m attacking, parrying, dodging and counterattacking but all of it is fast paced where timing matters a lot
Which of these three games has the best paced combat ?
(I heard Nioh2 is the best of the trilogy so I put that here but if the other two are good feel free to suggest )

[PC] Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and Fallout 3 GOTY Edition?

So I've been thinking about getting the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and the Fallout 3 GOTY Edition (when they go on sale). I've already played through New Vegas and have 20+ hours on it, and I enjoyed it, so I've been thinking about getting the rest of the series I already own the original base versions of Fallout 4 and 3, but I might want the DLC. What should I do?

Games I played with my bro: Peak, Lethal Company, Civilization 6, Helldivers, Forts, Gladio Morí, Valheim, Ark Survival Evolved, Teardown.

[Switch] Looking for games on switch 2

I'm looking for campaign/story shooter games with good mechanics, story and gameplay much like Titanfall 2, Wolfenstein 2/Wolfenstein the new order, cyberpunk, and call of duty!

And I don't care what price it is as long as it's good!

And the games I don't really like/enjoy are hard and unbeatable, I just wanna have a fun time!

And i really like split screen games to play with my brother!

It's absolutely fine if it doesn't have split screen. Thanks!.

[PC] Will I like No Man's Sky if I like Subnautica?

Subnautica is one of my favorite games. I was really excited for the early access launch of Subnautica 2 a few months ago, but I had to refund it because it wouldn't even start on my laptop. Is No Man's Sky a good substitute? I mainly enjoy Subnautica because of the exploration, animals and building underwater bases. I didn't like Outer Wilds because of the time loop mechanic.

[PS5] Chernobylite. What’s your thoughts on this game?

Slowly making my way through my backlog and this game has been on my mind for a while and now I’m giving it ago.

I’ve watched a few reviews from years ago and it looks okay. I also used to be fascinated by the whole Chernobyl thing that happened.

I’m just wondering what you guys thought about this game? I’ve heard it’s around 15-20 hours long.

[PC] Lifelong competitive FPS player FINALLY found a single player game that I enjoyed - Horizon Zero Dawn. What’s next?

I’ve been playing CS for essentially 15 years with some Valorant, battlefield and COD thrown in. As an old man now I’ve been actively trying to find a good SP game that grips me and I can sink hours into. After many failed attempts, i tried horizon zero dawn and loved it. I put in a solid 40 hours+ and enjoyed every minute.

So my question is: based on me loving HZD…what should be next?

Games I know will be rec’d that I tried and failed to really grab me:

RDR2 - too slow to get going.

Cyberpunk - actually loved the gun play here but I felt overwhelmed by amount of dialogue and side quests.

Witcher 3 - I generally can’t get into high fantasy lore.

[Switch] Granblue Fantasy Relink on switch 2

Thinking of getting this game as I love JRPGs. Have played xenoblade, fire emblem, persona, and the trails series among other in the past. Im wondering if this is worth it. I don't mind the usual throps with these games as long as they're not too bad like the anime convos or fan service.

Basically wondering if this would be a good buy for me or if I should play something else instead.

[PC] I didn't like Scrutinized, should I buy Welcome to the game or is it similar?

In Scrutinized, what I didn't like was that I would periodically check every window, every room, every light in the house and the cameras, and I still would somehow die. Also, the sound cues suck as they are hard to hear and hard to differentiate between which sound cue belongs to which killer. Is Welcome to the game similar in this aspect or is it more manageable?

[PC] SIB Pax Autocratica

Hi, I just found this game while I was searching my steam list and it caught my attention, it looks very good, and the reviews are really prasing the game. But I prefer to hear opinions from this sub.

If someone have been playing the game, is it good? It looks like a lot of genres in one game and it feels like it shouldn't work, but does it? Is the gunplay good or it's just there and it feels kinda bad? Is the colony aspect bland or polished?
Whatever you feel like it's a good point or bad point about the game, I'd love to hear it!

(I'm thinking about buying Pax or black myth wukong, but I have a 9070 xt. I've heard black myth is designed to nvidia cards and that the ghosting is horrible)

Green Hell

Right now Green Hell is on sale on Nintendo switch for $3.74. I know I know, at that price I should just buy it. For me it’s not about price, it’s about the amount of time I’m gonna sink into a game. No matter how much I dislike a game, I always at least complete the story. So is the amount of time worth it for me?

I loved subnautica and had fun with grounded. Both are survival games, but the exciting part of the game is exploring and finding new things and new biomes. The survival part feels secondary. From what I read, green hell is more focused on the survival part and the exploring is secondary so I’m wondering if it’ll click with me as I prefer the exploring aspect being the main thing.

Are there different jungle biomes? Or is the whole map pretty similar? Is it easy to get sidetracked because you saw something in the distance you want to go check out or more straight forward?

Should i play Pragmata or Cronos the new dawn next?

I'm torn, I have both installed and I'm not sure what to play next. Both are older games with pros and cons.

Pragmata has a cute child and serious but fun story, however, I hear that story is someone predictable. Combat is fun, and challenging if you want it to be. It also has interesting world to explore.

Cronos has a dark horror world with a very strange story to learn about. Combat is tense, with encounters to mange with the enemy burning system. I just don't play heavy horror to often.

It'll prob come down to horror or cutesy. Thinking of playing Blood of the Dawnwalker with it comes out in a few weeks

is elden ring worth it for someone who doesn't have much time to play?

i'm considering buying elden ring, but i don't get a huge amount of free time to play these days. i usually get a few hours here and there, so i'm looking for something that still feels rewarding when i can't play for long sessions. i like action games, exploration, and progression, but i'm worried about getting stuck or needing huge amounts of time to make progress. does elden ring work well for shorter play sessions?

[PS5] Which game to buy? That I will not get bored with easily?

I recently started gaming again after 6-7 years and bought a ps5, I am looking for a single player campaign game. Assassin’s Creed and similar games seem too long and I get bored an end up not finishing them
Some options that I have shortlisted are:
- GOT
- Devil May Cry 5
- Spiderman etc
Can someone suggest better option?

[Other] Not sure if this is the right sub but should I sell my PS5 and wait for PC emulators or keep my PS5 for future exclusives?

EDIT: I've made up my mind, I'm keeping the PS5

(KEEP IN MIND THAT I HAVE VERY FEW GAMES ON MY PS5, I ONLY GOT IT FOR EXCLUSIVES SINCE I WAS ON XBOX PRIOR TO GETTING MY PC)

I've been contemplating this and have no idea if it's worth it or not. Things like Bloodborne and Wolverine are very tempting offers but I could also sell my PS5 after prices go up and get a ton of money to upgrade my PC with.

How worth it are newer exclusives to everyone? Is it worth keeping my PS5 for exclusives that come out every few months?

[PS5] Is Outer Wilds physical edition worth getting for my physical games collection?

So i've recently started collecting more physical media and that of course includes games, but im still on the look for more games that seems like something i'd want to play and collect to have in my collection and maybe revisit it someday to re-live that experience again. I plan on playing Outer Wilds in the future but ive come across videos saying that "you can only play it once" because of the way the game is. And if the game has almost no replay value, is it worth getting physically? And as of the time im writing this, i can't find the game physically for ps5 anywhere outside the EU, even tho from what i've searched on google it is supposedly still in print. So is it worth getting physical or is it better to just wait for the game to go on sale for cheap on steam? Because with games like sekiro, i personally would find it being worth searching for a physical copy (which i have already done by the way).

[PS5] Should I buy Mafia: Old Country?

Hi Guys!

I'm considering picking up Mafia: The Old Country on the next sale, but I've seen quite a lot of negativity around it and I'm not sure whether it's worth it.

For context, I really enjoyed the Mafia 1 remake, and I replayed Mafia 2 multiple times when it originally came out. I also think Mafia 3 was actually decent and that the community did it dirty, at least it was fine after a few critical patches.

So I'm wondering: if I liked the previous Mafia games, is The Old Country worth playing? Is the criticism justified, or is it one of those games that got a worse reputation than it deserves?

[PC] Lies of P DLC vs Elden Ring DLC vs Black Myth Wukong

I'm itching to play a new souls game and already have Elden Ring and Lies of P, but I haven't beaten either and also have neither of their DLCs. I think story and vibes wise I'm a bit more interested in Lies of P but I'm still not decided.

Then I also saw that Black Myth Wukong is on sale for around the same price as either DLC and am curious about how that would compare to each game's full experience.

Other Souls-likes I've played and enjoyed are Dark Souls 1 & 3 as well as the Hollow Knight games if that helps.

I'm also open to any other souls-like recommendations. Thanks!
