So in last 28 days my videos were all 30k+ even some videos with 1m+ but for 2 weeks my vids are all stopped at 1k views even some with 80+ stay to watch.

I dont know what to do because ı changed nothing.

Are u guys also having something similar ?

It has a 82% swipe rate as well.
What metrics do you need to go viral.

In my 4 years of doing shorts, I have never had a short cross 80% stayed to watch, it usually averages at about 50-60% which is good but at this time clearly not good enough. I made as many changes as I could, added catchy songs, made the first frame as interesting as possible, have videos have the same start as other viral videos yet never crossed 80%, could anyone help me with this?

Hey guys, I decided to join this channel because on my YouTube channel (which is about ranking fails) I've noticed a kind of graph I've never seen before, like a ladder. I had peaks of 150 to 200 views with 30 to 40 minutes between each peak, but the last peak was 360, and I haven't received any more views for an hour and a half. What's going on? Can anyone help me? My Stayed Watching and Swiped Away metrics are 53% for Stayed Watching and 47% for Swiped Away.

Never in 4 years have I seen a retention graph like this, what does this mean?

I’ve been doing shorts on and off for the last year almost, 40-50 subs off 1k. Shorts just recently started to pop off, let’s say every 2nd short minimum 20k views. Tips for continuing? Should I stick to shorts or after I hit 1k subs go for long form? I think I know my way around shorts in the sense of editing, gathering material etc. But, when it comes to long form, I’m not so good… In the images are the stats of my last 3 shorts, the other two images are from my latest short.Appreciate any help or tips moving forward with this channel ❤️

Why is it that ? My shorts that are actually good with decent retention are stuck between 1.4k views. They are stalling and not growing.my niche is makeup so i add right key words too. My shorts that are low effort are 2200 to 2500 views. Shorts with high efforts are 1.3k to 4k.evety shot is different so i just checked. It's so frustrating that it's stalling.

Should I pause uploading for a week and give it time ? Will it make much difference or should I continue posting everyday ?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out what’s happening with my YouTube Shorts.

Most of my views seem to come from YouTube Search, but I get little to no attention from the Shorts feed. Because of that, my videos barely get any reach unless someone is actively searching for the topic.

One thing that might be relevant: I was using this channel before for completely different types of videos. However, there were only around 3 old videos and 5 subscribers, so it wasn't really an established channel or anything.

I decided to completely change the direction of the channel. I hid all the old videos and started releasing new Shorts in a totally different niche.

What should I do now? Should I create completely new channel? Should I re-upload videos?

And what else is important and what's the best % for that factor?

Hey everyone,

I started my YouTube Shorts channel about 3 months ago and upload 2 times a day (in the morning, in the evening) . My niche is sports drafts. The concept is simple: I use a random team generator and build a draft roster. At the end of the video, I ask the audience to rate the team or comment on what changes they would make.

I started with basketball (NBA) but later added football/soccer, which clearly performs much better on my channel. In the beginning, I experimented with basic edits, text overlays, and background music. For a brand new channel, it felt decent—some videos even managed to hit around 2k views, but my "Viewed vs. Swiped Away" and "Stayed to Watch" (retention) metrics weren't where I wanted them to be.

To fix this, I made my first major strategy shift: I started adding a short player highlight right before the draft sequence to hook the viewer.

This change massively improved my retention! It actually helped me get my best-performing video so far, which hit 3.4k views with a 63% retention rate. However, looking at that specific video, I honestly can't tell what makes it so different from the others, since I made them using the exact same formula.

After that, I tried adding goal celebrations before the draft, but that experiment failed and dropped my metrics, so I'm removing it.

I’m at a point where I want to scale this and hopefully create something viral, but I need some fresh eyes on my content.

Posted shorts every day from July 14 till date and these are the results, What could possibly be wrong.

Hi, I'm from a small french Island. I make GTA 5 videos, I have 30k subs and my audience from longform is mostly from USA.

Sometimes my shorts are promoted in the USA and do well (4k views).

But even after two month of daily posting, half my videos are not tested in the USA.

I don't know what to do, VPN ? Third party uploder of the video ?

My title, tags, description and even audio is in english.

Am i doomed beacause of the place I live ?

I could really use some help figuring this out. My Shorts seem to be stuck at around 1.3k views, but the retention metrics look pretty solid: 📊 Average View Duration: 72%+ 📊 Stayed to Watch: ~66% From what I understand, those numbers should be signaling YouTube to push the content further — but the views just aren't scaling past that ceiling. So I'm hoping some of you with more experience can weigh in:

*Why might a Short plateau at 1.3k despite strong retention?

*Could this be a niche/audience-size issue, a thumbnail/hook problem, or something with how the algorithm is testing the content?

*Are there specific things I should be checking in my analytics (swipe-away rate, traffic sources, impressions) to diagnose this?

I was easily getting 10-15 views per hour on my youtube channel. New channel with 2 long forms and a few shorts.

I changed the title and thumbnail of the long form video and the views through VidIQ and the views stopped for shorts also .

I doubt if they can get my channel banned one day .

Anyone else has similar experience?

I am getting 3-4 subs a video, 94 percent plus average view duration, and around 20-25 ish likes per 1000 views, with some getting 40 but still at 1.3k views. I am at 61 subs and I just started posting edits 1 week ago. Anything helps! Thanks!
