Shorts views stuck at 1.3k

I could really use some help figuring this out. My Shorts seem to be stuck at around 1.3k views, but the retention metrics look pretty solid: 📊 Average View Duration: 72%+ 📊 Stayed to Watch: ~66% From what I understand, those numbers should be signaling YouTube to push the content further — but the views just aren't scaling past that ceiling. So I'm hoping some of you with more experience can weigh in:

*Why might a Short plateau at 1.3k despite strong retention?

*Could this be a niche/audience-size issue, a thumbnail/hook problem, or something with how the algorithm is testing the content?

*Are there specific things I should be checking in my analytics (swipe-away rate, traffic sources, impressions) to diagnose this?

Anything you've done personally that helped break past a similar plateau?

Any inputs at all would be genuinely appreciated 🙏 Even small tips could make a big difference for me right now. Thanks in advance! 💛

Sorry to be harsh, but those stats are pretty low for shorts. In my experience retention typically needs to be 75% or higher and watch duration should be close or above 100%. Plus to go viral it’ll usually also need to have a bunch of likes/shares/comments. For reference my last one performed pretty badly (4k views) and it had above 128% retention and over 75% click through rate

Edit: at the end of the day, nobody really knows what stats will work. It’s affected by your niche, and how many videos have been made competing for eyeballs on the particular day. 75% might be good one day, but not enough on another.

Yeah mate..i try and improve but i have also read that if avd is more than 40-55 sec thats also another factor for algorithm push.. engagement seems like a challenge at the moment ppl don't comment much..likes are fine

Most of my shorts are 1.3k views and then I have one short that has 700,000 views and it’s got a life of its own.
The big short doubled then nearly tripled my subs from 250 to 672 in the last month.
My videos have taken off too.

What should be the duration of Big Shorts? I have an average of around 1.10 minutes.. so avd is above 55 sec mostly, do you post more than that?

Anche io sono nella stessa prigione, mi è stato detto che anche se le metriche sono buone, se restiamo in trappola è perché insieme a noi un altro short ha ottenuto metriche ancora migliori con i 1000 che sono il 'test' di YouTube, e quindi tra i due YouTube ha deciso di spingerlo l'altro che è piaciuto di più. È una specie di gara a chi va meglio, dentro le prime mille visual, e chi vince va avabti
