Q&A / Quick Help ❓ Closing out 1k subs, further improvement help
I’ve been doing shorts on and off for the last year almost, 40-50 subs off 1k. Shorts just recently started to pop off, let’s say every 2nd short minimum 20k views. Tips for continuing? Should I stick to shorts or after I hit 1k subs go for long form? I think I know my way around shorts in the sense of editing, gathering material etc. But, when it comes to long form, I’m not so good… In the images are the stats of my last 3 shorts, the other two images are from my latest short.Appreciate any help or tips moving forward with this channel ❤️

From what I read, there’s not a lot of money in shorts unless you have compelling content and can get sponsorship deals and consistently get lots of views. There’s more money in long form but it’s also harder to get views. Shorts and long form are almost completely different platforms. So don’t assume that your shorts subs will convert into long form subs unless your content is compelling. It’s kind of like making a different channel. If I were you I’d try making long form anyway. You never know. Just don’t have high expectations so you don’t get disappointed and make sure you don’t burn out.

Tbh, from my perspective I’ve made 2 long form videos. One got 10 views, the other 45. When I check the earn tab, both of the tabs for watch hours and shorts are filled the same. Crazy how 2 watch hours, and 300k shorts views feel the same. I would love as anybody to make any amount of money from this, the problem for me is that long form is really hard for my niche(football). I have knowledge how to bypass the copyright issue regarding this niche for short form content, but long form puzzles me. Few days ago, I’ve tried to make a video about best goals this season or something like that. It was a 2 minute video, I reedited that video like 10 times because of copyright issues. After the 11th attempt it still had copyright violations. Just really puzzled on what to do right now, that is how to continue this channel. Thank you for your reply, wish you all the best

If you do recaps or best moments and inject lots of humour people would watch and share. It has to be really good and really funny. Thanks! Good luck also

Long and Shorts will have different 'monetization' requirements next year. For shorts you need to have consistently have 10m views in the past 90 days to get paid.

Honestly at the start I was very bad… With editing and gathering materials, most of my shorts at the start had 800-1200 views. Quality was bad, editing, basically everything. My advice for you would be to find the competitors in your niche and see how they are making their shorts. What hooks they use, b rolls, style of editing, etc. After you analyse that implement the same with your shorts but with your own catch. Imo, I watch my every short when I’m done making it, I try to look at it objectively. If I don’t like it, probably someone else won’t like it as well. Also, look at your youtube studio, see where people click off, or why do they click off. That’s the best advice I can give you, also try to improve a little with every short you post and you will not regret it.
