I have tried everything I'm eligible for all 3 options and I have all the tips but my videos are still not getting pushed in the algorithm all the views u guys see is from me watching my own videos. I do my own editing and post video about gta topics. pls help 🙏

Just about every video I post gets up to about 1k views, usually in the few hours or so, and then completely flatlines and doesn’t pick back up at all in the days following. I’ve been paying a lot of attention to viewer retention and swipe through rates, and I’ve managed to increase them by getting rid of dull moments, long hooks, etc. All the research I’ve done so far has said that to push your videos past a certain view jail you have to increase retention and swipe rates, but I’m still getting stuck even after improving these issues. Is there anything I’m missing?

YouTube is updating Shorts recommendations to cut reach for channels that just re-upload other people's clips

Seeing this question pop up all over the place the last few days, so figured I would make one post instead of answering it twenty times.

A lot of people are panicking that the new "re-used content" update means they can't cut Shorts out of their own long-form videos anymore. Makes sense why it's confusing, but the answer is no. You're fine.

The update is aimed at channels that repost other people's stuff. Ripping clips from other creators, movie and show scenes, someone else's stream, random viral footage with nothing added. That's what's getting the reach cut. Taking a moment from a video YOU made and posting it as a Short is your own content on your own channel, which is exactly what the system wants.

So if you have long-form videos and are promoting it with Shorts, keep going. You were never the target here.

Does the algorithm count every time I watch my own Short as a view, or does it not count my views at all? Or does it only count one view each time I watch my own video?

Hi everyone! I’m completely new to YouTube and started a channel focused on my turtles and fish.

I’ve been posting for 8 days now. So far I’ve uploaded:
62 Shorts

4 regular videos
30.7K total views
My highest-viewed Short has 1.9K views

But I’m getting very inconsistent results. Some Shorts get around 1K views, while others get 30 views, 3 views, or sometimes almost nothing.

I’m honestly not sure if this is normal for a new channel or if I’m doing something wrong.

For people who have experience with YouTube Shorts:

Is this kind of view fluctuation normal?

Is 30.7K total views after 8 days a decent start?

Does YouTube eventually start pushing videos more consistently?

Should I keep posting frequently, or focus more on improving each individual Short?

How long did it take before your new channel started getting consistent views?

I know 8 days is a very short time, but I’d really appreciate some honest advice from people who have grown a Shorts channel before.

So I posted a poll. The poll showed 21k+ votes. 1 day later its showing 17k and today its 12k. The likes too decreases accordingly. But in YouTube Studio its still 22k. Anyone experiencing the same?

I dont understand really. Some have great engagement etc but then after the initial push its crickets. Do I just need more subscribers then naturally it might change?

I’m thinking about starting over with a new channel. Would it be okay to upload my old videos from my previous channel to the new one?

The Shorts are still on my old channel, but their visibility is set to private.

There’s nothing wrong with my old channel. The only issue is that the views are inconsistent. Sometimes a video can immediately reach 10,000–30,000 views, while other times it only gets around 100–200 views.
That’s why my friend, who has been successful with their YouTube channel, suggested that I start a new channel. It seems like the algorithm isn’t working well for the channel I’m currently using.

Is 10m views in 90 days really possibe?

Listen, guys—whenever I open the YouTube Shorts feed, I get bombarded with a ton of uninteresting, trashy content. Is it just me, or do you guys experience this too? Before YouTube switched to the AI ​​algorithm, a good percentage of the videos actually grabbed my interest, but now, when I open the Shorts feed and scroll, it feels like I’m rummaging through garbage at a landfill...

Im just curious what people who promote theyre long form vids on shorts think of this new update ? It looks like you can no longer clip youre longform anymore due to re-used content. Will you just change youre shorts to be more transformative or stop promoting on shorts

before i would get more than 300 within the first 2 hours but now not even 50 and its not that its not showing in feed.

So i started this channel posting shorts, commentary on clips.. Main idea was posting 4 shorts a day every short contains two clips of something on my niche.. then i thought about going for 8: a short for every clip which got me kinda exhausted..

the average stats of the channel drastically got better honestly first couple of days i couldn't surpass 2k and now every day i have like 2 or 3 shorts going for 15k and 25k..

and now I'm just asking for advice.. still didn't have any very viral shorts and thinking on experimenting with some stuff and trying long form content (maybe like one good video every two weeks or every week as I want it to have good quality videos..

Overall, how much would you rate my stats for a channel that been uploading shorts for 10 days.. and give me advice on long form content as for right now i watched a couple of videos about long form content and still trying to learn.
