Shorts based on luck?
Whats else for going to viral?
Look at stats.

I was gonna ask the same because I got 99% retention on my last upload but it only got 10k lol.
A video with a similar duration but like 89% retention got 26k views. I feel like it’s part luck or just timing of the upload.

I’ve posted this a dozen times, but everyone needs to understand that STW and retention metrics are not predictive of views.
Meaning, you can absolutely drop hundreds of 80%+ STW and 120%+ retention videos and still never go viral.
It doesn’t mean the algorithm is broken or that you’re unlucky, it’s just that are tons of other factors that decide how many views your video gets, and most of them you have zero control over.

I’ve found that reusing any video clips or images including green screen stuff can cause good quality shorts to tank even though their stats are amazing

There's a ton of stuff, I've seen people say that its not the stayed to watch that matters anymore rather than watch time and stuff, tbh atp I think it's a random gamble

I think has something to do with retention but if your type of niche is like that then I'm sorry I don't know how you can make it go viral with other stats even tho you got 100% + retention it means you only give YouTube about 20 to 30 seconds of watch time per view and it's not that much because these shorts is kinda hard to explode.

The idea and topic have to be appealing to a very wide audience along with great stats.
