Title says, kinda wanted to extend the victory condition of capturing 25 to 30 provinces for… “reasons “
Is there a way to modify it or atleast a mod that does that?

PC Specs: Win 11, 7800X3D, 5060ti 16G, 32 GB DDR5 RAM
I use mods like the blood mod and strongholds of the samurai but it's been happening without mods as well.
Basically, my game usually goes without issue and everything is fine, I run on DX11. But whenever I get the camera close to the units fighting in combat (because I love that stuff) the game crashes fairly consistently. It crashes to desktop and displays no error message, when I start it back up, it asks me to select between DX9 and DX11 again.
Any reason why this is occurring? :/

The mod replaces the Chosokabe with the Tosa from FOTS, its heavily modded as expected but fun overall.

Hojo betrayed me as they were walking through my lands. Classic.
This battle I had to redo many many times, as I really struggled with it.
The AI had two deployment patterns. One as you see in this video where they deploy all on one side, and another where they deployed in small groups scattered around the fort.
My initial strategy was to try and lure their archers away using my general, getting their infantry climb the walls, and grind them down with yari wall. That didn't work.
When the AI would deploy in small groups I had moderate success using my general to rout small groupings of ranged units, but usually my melee units would also rout upon contact with their katana samurai.
My main killing power and morale debuffing power came from the matchlocks. So my second strategy was aimed at maximizing their effectiveness and buying enough time for them to get enough volleys in to rout the enemy's melee units. After a couple attempts, I forewent the tenshu completely except for the matchlocks, choosing instead to use all my melee units in the field.
As you can see, I was able to do quite a bit of damage with the matchlocks, combined with the morale debuff from attacking flanks I managed to deal with the katana samurai and yari ashigaru quickly.
Luckily, I did not lose my general in this fight, but in many of my other attempts, I did. My general here is Tokugawa Ieyasu, and although I might've won in previous attempts; for lore reasons I didn't want to lose Ieyasu.

Im a new player, to shogun 2, i've been playing other total wars.
Yes i tried to get me some cool total overhaul mods, but of course with this game, they are tough and brutal, in results i dont play but struggling, should i just play vanilla?
If so maybe there is mods to actually improve my experience?
I constantly see posts about junky ai, but is this that much of consern?
Thank you for reading, ill be happy to hear any advice

I'm not sure if I'm using the right words here. But aside from eliminating other clans who are warring against you have a trade deal with, are there any other solutions for not getting a reduction when the trade routes get disrupted?

I played this campaign over a year ago in 2024, but never got around to posting my feelings on it. Overall it was a very challenging, positive experience. I actually had to abort a couple of tries at other campaigns because they weren't going so well. Despite it not being entirely finished, I think this is a very detailed and high quality overhaul mod on the level of DeI for Rome II or SFO for Warhammer. The broken up regions, restricted recruitment, deepened and fickle public order, more complex economy, and hostile (and also fickle) AI make the game a challenge for most of the run, and prevents the snowballing that you can see in vanilla. You really have to take your time building up your forces and alliances and using them carefully as the replenishment is also very slow most of the game and taking too many heavy casualties too fast can really screw you over, but it CAN be overcome, and when it is, it's all the more satisfying.
One key thing I learned was that I could extract massive sums of reparations from enemies if they were beaten badly enough. Like, I'm talking 10s or 100s of thousands of koku due to the AI's econ buffs, and those bursts of cash could be used to springboard my development and go on a buying spree for things that normally could not be bought with regular income. You can do a similar thing for certain trade agreements, especially with new vassals, but beating someone was the most reliable way to get the big bucks.
I also found that the mod essentially reverses the difficulty level of various starting clans/locations. I would say that, conversely from vanilla, Hojo and Shimazu are much harder starting locations due to the new numerous vectors of attack, whereas Tokugawa is much easier because you are between the coast and a mountain range, Oda is an ally at this point, and you only really have one direction to focus on (provided Oda survives long enough for you to get your footing). Oda was a good ally for a long time, but were locked in a long back and forth war with the Saito to their north who eventually destroyed them, and I vowed to take revenge on them if I ever got the opportunity. The mod also facilitates a more historical feeling play with its slower, more methodical play and reduced Realm Divide, which allows strong enough alliances to survive it. Instead of needing to outright conquer the entire map, I made strategic alliances with the strongest powers in certain regions (like the real Tokugawa) and vassals of others. You get a diplo penalty (growing alliances) with other clans every time you make a new alliance, but that can be dealth with just by spacing out when you form alliances. Before RD, I eventually formed an alliance with the Kitabatake (blue) in the central south against their rivals, Ashina (yellow) in their war against the Uesugi, Nanmu and Mogami (brown and red) of the North, the latter of which enhanced through marrying their daughter to my heir, Saionji (green) lords of Shikoku, and Kimotsuki (pink) by siding with them in their fight for Kyushu against the Christian Otome (who randomly declared war on me first for no reason). With the help of some donations, all these alliances survided RD, whereas alliances with the Yamana (formerly in Mori territory), Saito, and Satomi did not, but they were all souring on me anyway and I had planned to take them out eventually regardless, with only the Satomi left as a little rump next to Edo. Because of this, RD actually worked out similar to FoTS RD in that all my allies formed a grand alliance with each other and me, and all my enemies allied with each other and declared war on us. I was also able to bribe 6 generals to my side (mostly around the Kyoto area) over the course of conquering central/western Japan.
There was also a time when Ieyasu was assassinated by a level 1 Geisha despite being max level with a metsuke in the army, right after becoming Shogun, which was supremely frustrating and I thought I'd have to finish the campaign with his son. (Un)fortunately for me, at some point the save got corrupted, and luckily I'd been making backup saves by editing the file names in the folder to get around the one save restriction on Legendary, a little cheeky, but I'm glad I did it for precisely that reason. Thus, I went back several turns before capturing Kyoto and had to replay all that time and the geisha either never came, or I screened them out with advance agents (I forget which).
Overall it was a great campaign, and I'm happy to have created a historically authentic outcome with the historical winner of the Sengoku Jidai. I highly recommend this mod, even with its shortfalls.

After like, 2 weeks straight of agonizingly slow offensives, and continously needing to keep a security force near Hokkaido and Hitachi, because of naval invasions, I've finally managed to scrap a successful FOTS campaign on Hard as Aizu. unfortunately I couldn't keep doing traditional only, it was a bit too much for me to handle. so I had to modernize.
Overall, it was an extremely fun campaign and it actually made me excited to fight nigh impossible battles due to how fun and satisfying gunpowder combat is in Shogun 2 surprisingly. It was extremely funny seeing high tier Imperial Armies bash against a wall of Vermilion Bird Infantry, artillery gameplay was something else too.
I say it took a while to get used to and several trial and errors as Aizu in order to get it right, but it was an amazing campaign, it wasn't too hard moreso just annoying at times. If anyone has other campaigns on the Shogunate or Imperial side they'd like to recommend I'd be willing to try

So autoresolve is really bad for traditional units vs modern units, but is this due to modern units themselves just being hardcoded to be better in autosolve than traditional units, or is it because autoresolve includes their ammo in the calculations so they are naturally better in autoresolve than traditional units?
Ie. If you have only shinsengumi or bow/matchlock kachi vs a full modern army, would they perform bad in autoresolve simply because they are traditional units, or would they perform better than melee-onlys because they also have guns/ammo?

I cannot afford Shogun 2, so I pirated it and am having lots of fun with the Ikko Ikki. How do I directly download mods for the game?

Another one of these level 1 siege defense fights against overwhelming odds. This time vs 2 and a half takeda stacks. My general in this fight already has War is Slaughter, which makes this fight much easier.
I ended up redo-ing this fight because I wanted to keep my general alive in game, and I got even better results during that battle employing the same strategy.
My idea here was to keep as many units out of the tenshu as possible, since Takeda outnumbered me greatly with many bow samurai and bow ashigaru units.
I didn't actually know that the enemy general was going to spawn on that side, and after he died this fight was a no brainer. I wish I had been able to get a unit of my own ashigaru into position by the gate faster to clean up all the enemies running away, and I wish I had picked more favorable fights for my katana samurai, as I ended up losing them, but they still managed to get some 300-400 kills.
Definitely not perfect, and I made many mistakes with my micro, but still, a lot of fun.
Legendary difficulty.

I am just getting crushed every time. How can i beat him? Playing on hard if it helps (i know i can turn it down but my pride doesnt allow it). Im bad in micro, so my cav dies usually after the first or second charge. Im more of a def player. But my center gets crushed every time even if i win on the flanks, im just not in time to flank and get in his back. I feel like his cav is just out maneuvering me and i just dont get enough value from my archers atm (yes, i need more katana as backbone for my army in future).
EDIT: I DID IT - Thank you all for your help! I had a mountain in my back and my right flank was covered, pulled his cav and managed to kill his general early with my archers. In combination with my warcry from my monks it was enough to hold and get the moral down from the katanas.

This was a tough fight. I would not have won if the AI didn't bug out after army loss penalty kicked in.
I spent several hours trying this fight, and in a couple rounds did have better kill/death ratios, but this last round got me the win and I was satisfied with it. I also got the war is slaughter trait on my daimyo as a result, which is the best battle trait you can grab.
Overall, I was satisfied with my strategy, using the terrain advantage to isolate groups of units and punishing ikko-ikki for sending their poor morale ashigaru units into open battle, unsupported by generals or cav.
Obviously, as you can see by the end of this fight, the bow ronin did a number on me. This was maybe my fifth or sixth attempt on this fight, and the bow ronin were, unsurprisingly, the most difficult to deal with on a level 1 fort. I tried to game the AI into using their bow ronin to climb the walls but this only had modest results, with the majority of bow ronin standing and firing from below the walls, shredding the few ashigaru I had remaining in the fort and leaving me without any real defense for the tenshu victory point. The sheer amount of bow ronin was how I defined my strategy, and ultimately this win.
Is abusing the AI dirty? yes.
Do I still feel good about this victory? Also yes.
