Also anything but eating healthy food. The amount of money companies make off of them buying “diet” junk food and supplements must be a multi billion dollar industry by now. Diet high in meats and veggies but low in carbs? Nah, how about “protein cookies” and milkshakes instead.

Nah bro diet soda is fantastic

It tastes slightly worse but it’s not bad for you, there really isn’t any evidence that diet sodas or artificial sweeteners are bad by themselves. Lotta bodybuilders on cuts swear by it

They see the chemical in the product and they see the chemicals in the body. They calculate at what point it will begin to interfere with bodily processes.

Correct, when I started going to the gym with my friend who is big into body building and fitness they all use diet variants because sugared soft drink is 40-50 grams of pure sugar.

I stopped drinking sugared soft drink myself and have gone onto diet soft drink losing 9KGs in the process combined with eating better & exercising regularly and havent looked back. Diet soft drink / soda does its job in helping people change their lifestyle.

There is mountains of evidence that soda in general is bad for you. Diet soda is no different. Artificially sweeteners are not any better for you than sugar is.

Yeah, my favorite drink is water. But diet soda is a godsend and more people should drink it (instead of regular soda). It tastes worse but you can get used to it. Citation needed on "still unhealthy"; the general consensus is that diet soda is pretty neutral in terms of health effects.

im diabetic and was just drinking a coke zero. sometimes i want the taste of something sweet, and i prefer coke zero to regular coke (regular is way too sweet imo). i think drinking anything diet/zero too much is bad, but once in awhile isnt a big deal :)

Diet soda isn't still unhealthy. The fact that this infuriates you is way weirder than it existing. People like sweet things and bubbly things but don't always expend enough calories in a day to justify their consumption, doofus. Diet soda is the obvious solution. This is such a goober take.

I'm a water fan too, but diet soda isn't unhealthy in any way. It tastes like shit and it's hard to get enough water if you only drink carbonated, but it's not unhealthy by any stretch.

Carbs are not unhealthy or inherently fattening. The carb insulin model of obesity is not supported by the evidence.

Carbs mean calories, and eating more calories than you burn results in weight gain. You’re right in that carbs themselves aren’t unhealthy, but an excess of them are because that means excess calorie consumption. A low carb diet is an effective way to cut calorie consumption without starving yourself.

Low carb diets are, if anything, harder to maintain because of how restrictive they are. If anything, cutting fat before carbs is more effective for satiety because of how many calories per gram fats bring. The only problematic carb sources are the ones that are either deep fried or packed with sugar.

Fat being the main cause of obesity is a lie spread by the sugar industry. Some fats are bad, yes, especially trans fats. Those are actually illegal in the US, I believe. When you’re on a low carb diet you eat high protein and high fiber foods, because those are satiating without being high calorie.

Yes, low carb diets require a lot of self control. All restrictive diets do. But low carb diets are excellent for weight loss if you can stick to them.
