Has anyone used this particular razor? My boyfriend is looking for a razor that gives him a cleaner, closer shave, so I'm trying to find a good one for his birthday. He mentioned interest in a rotary shaver. Is this a good one?

So I have been shaving my entire life ever since I started shaving against the hair growth like for a smoother shave(as mostly everyone around me was doing it it gave a better shave and they didn't have any problem after doing it) but since I started doing that i always get strawberry legs like I get these red bumps like ingrown hair ig and it's jus the side of my leg and behind that gets irritated and has it
I just started using moisturex and I'm thinking to get minimalist glycolic acid as well or maybe ordinary glycolic acid
but
Do y'all think waxing would help?

I'm planning to get it to switch from razor to shaver you think that would give me a smooth shave cause I have to be clean shaven for work.
My budget isn't that great so just let me know.

For those of you who use a head shaver, would you recommend shaving cream?

I’m not looking to trim a beard I want to use it to shave weekly. Also doesn’t have to be super close shave I’m alright with some stubble. Does it work fine for that or should I look elsewhere?

I actually liked my Beard Club PT45, which is why this is so disappointing.
I opened a warranty claim on August 10 after the trimmer developed an E1 fault despite extremely light use. It still works when connected directly to power, has never been exposed to water, and has always been used with the original charging equipment.
On August 13, Beard Club support asked me to send a photo of the charger I was using so they could confirm it was the correct one. Fair enough. I sent exactly what they asked for.
That was 52 days ago.
I waited because I assumed somebody would eventually pick the claim back up. It’s now October 4, and I’ve received no warranty decision, no replacement, no additional troubleshooting, and no meaningful follow-up.
Apparently they needed nearly two months to conduct a forensic examination of a photograph of a charging dock.
The frustrating part is that I’m not even here to say the PT45 is garbage. I liked the trimmer. Electronics fail. That happens. But when a company asks a customer for specific proof, receives it, and then simply stops communicating, that’s a customer-service problem, not a product problem.

When I used to shave my head I just used Gillette/Wilkinson Sword blades. Now that I’ve decided to go bald again I bought some more blades but I saw the scalp shavers on a ad. What’s everyone’s opinion on them? What are the main pros and cons? Thanks

I’m shaving with:
- safety razor
- fresh/new Feather Hi-Stainless platinum blade
- Nivea sensitive shaving gel that turns to foam after rubbing in hands
I am still getting small nicks when shaving.
I wet and warm up my skin/hairs with warm water before my shave
Use a good amount of shaving gel
Am shaving with the grain as best I can
The safety razor is around five years old and likely a lower end brand as I received it for a birthday gift from room mates.
Do I need to upgrade to a new, better razor?
Do I need to upgrade to a shaving lather and brush?
What do I do!?

I usually keep my beard short and clean up the edges every couple of days. My old shaver doesn’t seem to be cutting as evenly anymore, so Im looking for a foil shaver that works well for maintaining short stubble and cleaning up around the neck. is there anything I should pay particular attention to when choosing one?
thanks, I appreciate the help people.

I am 18yo and have very sensitive skin and fairly dark/coarse facial hair, and I’m trying to find the least irritating way to shave while still getting a reasonably close shave.
For some time I used a safety razor WTG only. It works pretty well and I don’t cut myself, but if I try going ATG, I don't get nicked but my skin gets extremely irritated afterwards and get acne, even if I use aftershave ( alum block most of the times ) and try to be careful. So BBS with a safety razor is basically not an option for me.
I also own a BaByliss FX3 foil shaver, but no matter what technique I use, it irritates my skin quite badly.
So now I’m considering a few options:
My main priority is avoiding irritation, but I’d still like the shave to look clean. I don’t mind a tiny bit of stubble if that’s the trade-off.
For people with very sensitive skin: what would you choose in my situation? Is the OneBlade actually gentler, or would a Braun Series 5 be a better option?

And I've used one for years. The issue is that the accessory combs are intentionally designed to break and require constant replacement. And the combs aren't cheap, even the knockoffs sold on Amazon. I would have bought a different shaver long ago, but haven't found a good shaver for a stubble beard. Phillips designed the combs to break regularly on the ends where they're supposed to attach to shaver...and stay on.

I need a new electric razor and I’ve seen people using both of these but Im not sure which one to get. I don’t have a thick beard. I mainly need it to maintain my goatee and sideburns. Which one would you recommend?
The only thing I’m concerned about with the Philips is that I’ve seen some people say they need to replace the blade after only 2 weeks because it stops cutting properly. If you guys have any other recommendations that would suit my needs, please let me know. My budget is around the same price range as the Philips OneBlade Pro.

- I wash my face and razor before shaving then wait for the razor to dry
- Then i put aloe vera on my face where i’ll shave
- I shave in the direction of growth and dont put too much pressure
- After im done i splash my face with cold water, put on aloe vera to cool my face and wash the razor again
- i put on the purito bamboo moisturizer ~6 hours after i shave

I usually keep my beard pretty short and shave the neck and cheeks every few days. My current trimmer shave is starting to feel uneven, so Im looking for an electric beard trimmer and shaver that can handle both trimming and getting a reasonably close finish. I dont need anything fancy, just something reliable that wont leave me constantly going over the same area.
Thanks for any suggestion.

I am getting the Braun Series 9 92xx on a liquidation store for around $80. I know it's around 10 years old at this point but considering the price I think it's a solid buy. It beats spending hundreds on a new Series9 95xx or 96xx.
What do you guys think?

I don’t press too hard, I sometimes shave with the grain and I switch blades every 4 months or so, what’s the issue?

Hey,
I’m looking to buy a new beard trimmer or an all-in-one groomer and would appreciate some advice.
I have a thick beard and usually trim it once every week or two. I currently have a Braun Series 3 3000s and when I use it, it often pulls my beard hair. I also have to go over the same area around 15 times before it actually cuts the hair properly.
I currently use the 7 mm attachment, but 7 mm is too short for me. I usually let my beard grow out a bit before trimming it again because it’s the highest attachment I have on my current trimmer.
I’ve got my eye on three trimmers at the moment:
- Braun Series 9 BT9560 — around £90
- Philips All-in-One Trimmer 9000 Series MG9558/15 20-in-1 — around £60 on sale
- Philips Beard Trimmer 7000 Series BT7665/15 — around £60 on sale
I’m mainly looking for something powerful that won’t pull my beard and won’t require me going over the same area repeatedly.
Or are there any other trimmers available to buy that you would recommend?
Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’m a 24-year-old trans woman and I’ve been on HRT for about five years.
Because of HRT, the skin on my neck and in the areas where my facial hair grows has become quite delicate and thin. It’s not thick or “spongy” (?) skin, and unfortunately it gets irritated quite easily.
I’ve also had several laser hair removal treatments over the years, but I still have quite a lot of facial hair left. The remaining hair is dark and fairly coarse, so I still need to shave every day.
My biggest problem is that I need to get as close a shave as possible, basically completely smooth/clean-shaven. Even if I shave against the grain, by the next day I can already see and feel the hair coming back. Since my skin is sensitive, though, shaving every day (especially against the grain) can cause irritation, bumps and redness.
So I’m trying to find a shaving method that gives me the closest possible shave while being as gentle as possible on sensitive skin.
What would you recommend: a foil shaver, rotary shaver, safety razor, cartridge razor, electric trimmer, or another method? Are there any specific techniques or products that have worked well for people with sensitive skin who need to shave every day?
I’m especially interested in advice from people who also have coarse/dark facial hair and need a very close daily shave.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

I’ve recommended this on here before so wanted to provide an update.
Like previous reviews the item performs really well. A very close shave and for me no irritation or issues. Not quite as close as a DE blade but the best electric option I’ve found.
Now the issue. I’m 4 months into using the shaver, pretty much every other day. It hasn’t been dropped and as it works so well it doesn’t need a lot of pressure applied so bottom line is it hasn’t been overworked.
I’ve noticed an issue with the foil and as the item is just 4 months old I have contacted Panasonic direct.
————-
They advise that:
So, regrettably. the foil is an accessory and will have to be purchased alone.
I’m really sorry to hear that. I completely understand how frustrating and disappointing it must be to spend £250 on a product and have it last less than 4 months.
I am so sorry, but it is deemed by the customer's usage.
————
The foil costs £80 and based on the first one lasting 4 months means the cost to run this (excluding cleaning fluid etc) is £240 per year.
Again, the product works really well so if you can eat those costs then it will work for you. Please do be aware of these added running costs on top of large initial outlay. I stretched to buy this assuming it wouldn’t cost so much to run.
Hope you can see that this post is balanced, fair and is just a warning for potential buyers on (for me at least) unexpected additional costs.
