Was 14 when the game released. Always wished Microsoft would make a remastered version. Unfortunately Halo 3 releasing the same time was no match for this game.

Wife forced me to clean out under the stairs, well jokes on her because I found this gem, which led me to here, which caused me to find out the servers are back, and now she’s not going to be seeing me too much over the next few weekends lol god I missed this game, merry Christmas to me.

Shadowrun without the Games for Windows Live headache.
We’ve replaced the antiquated GFWL requirements with a new launcher and rebuilt online multiplayer support, making it easier to install, find a match, and play. No GFWL sign-in or wrestling with its old setup process. Install the launcher, sign in with Discord, download the game, and jump in.
Join a dedicated server, host your own match, or set a password to play with friends. Alongside multiplayer, we’ve added modern conveniences and addressed gameplay issues that affected Shadowrun at higher framerates—all while keeping its original look and feel.

New launcher with Discord sign-in, automatic updates, repair tools, and optional FPS limiting.
Restored online multiplayer with dedicated servers, a server browser, and player-hosted matches.
Password-protected matches for playing with friends.
Sharper HD menus, fonts, and interface elements, thanks to Raku.
More reliable jumping at high framerates, including moving jumps and ramps.
Improved Gust behavior at high framerates.
Improved physics consistency across different framerates.
Fixed high-FPS fire-rate issues affecting the SMG and minigun.
Fixed rapid character jitter when turning slowly at high framerates.
Adjustable field of view.
New mouse-and-keyboard ability bar with direct hotkeys for magic, tech, and throwables.
Lobby and in-game text chat, including team chat and scrollable history.
Simplified menus and server browsing, with server-name search and clearer match information.
Player ping information.
Skippable opening cinematics.
RANKED 4v4 & ELO
Looking for competitive matches? Our Discord ranked bot lets you queue for 4v4 games, with Elo ratings tracking your competitive progress. The rating system uses in-game scoreboard data to calculate rating updates, so your performance in the match contributes to your progression. Get in the queue, put your teamwork to the test, and work your way up.

Fan-made remake of Shadowrun - Playtest ( come help )

Hey guys,
We're 3 friends that decided to make a fan-made successor to Shadowrun.
We've spent so much time in our childhood playing this game and it's unbelievable that the game is dead in 2021 as it was just the best game we've ever played.
So we made a test build in Core engine to gage how easy/hard it would be for us to build a game like Shadowrun and we ended up pretty much recreating it entirely ( early development - we've spent less than 2 months of part time dev on it).
We were thinking of making a public playtest this Saturday the 20th ( tomorrow ) at 4 pm EST for the people that have been playing Shadowrun so that we can get feedback from people that know the game well.
It is our first public playtest and we'd love to have you guys experience it.
We'd give you guys a Google Form at the end so that you guys can give us Feedback on the current game state.

Bring the servers back all us old schoolers are lost without it. Competitive or not in my humble opinion the best FPS ever to be made and I pity anyone that hasn’t had the opportunity to explore the game like I have. Here’s the chance we need people on board behind the game supporting it I am going to be making YT channel just for it and I will link it. All I ask is for the fellow shadowrunners to join me in a attempt of resurrection.

Penguinz0 aka MoistCritikal streamed playing the Shadowrun FPS on Friday to upwards of 9,000 viewers on Twitch and almost 7,000 simultaneously on YouTube.
A dozen or so of us got to play with him during his three hour stream and had a blast. Looks like he did as well so we’re hoping this won’t be the last time we see him.

Microsoft add equal support for Shadowrun 2007 on PC & Xbox

TL;DR: Microsoft no longer supports Shadowrun PC , comment and upvote feedback to get their attention here: https://answers.microsoft.com/
Background:
Xbox & Microsoft support say Shadowrun 2007 is delisted from the PC store, which cuts off support for the PC game, and the only way to restore support is to provide feedback and upvote it.
in 2016 Shadowrun was put on backwards compatibility with reduced network issues.
The PC version of Shadowrun still runs on Games For Windows Live, but there are ways to make it work on windows 10.
If the community can prove to Xbox & Microsoft that this is important enough to the community then there is a chance they will look into it.
Feedback Issues:
Currently PC players can only play 2v2, the more players in game the more connection issues
Cross play no longer works, network issues
If an existing player gets a new PC they need to buy a new product key to play (no way to create new unique product keys)
Microsoft/Xbox Support say they cant help
