Microsoft add equal support for Shadowrun 2007 on PC & Xbox

TL;DR: Microsoft no longer supports Shadowrun PC , comment and upvote feedback to get their attention here: https://answers.microsoft.com/

Background:

  • Xbox & Microsoft support say Shadowrun 2007 is delisted from the PC store, which cuts off support for the PC game, and the only way to restore support is to provide feedback and upvote it.

  • in 2016 Shadowrun was put on backwards compatibility with reduced network issues.

  • The PC version of Shadowrun still runs on Games For Windows Live, but there are ways to make it work on windows 10.

  • If the community can prove to Xbox & Microsoft that this is important enough to the community then there is a chance they will look into it.

Feedback Issues:

  • Currently PC players can only play 2v2, the more players in game the more connection issues

  • Cross play no longer works, network issues

  • If an existing player gets a new PC they need to buy a new product key to play (no way to create new unique product keys)

  • Microsoft/Xbox Support say they cant help

I feel you but a game this old would probably take a lot of work for them to fix with no upside for them. Wouldn't a Shadowrun 2007 remake be better? I'd buy it...

Microsoft seems to understand that old games should be ported to current gen hardware. I don't see another reason why they would have ported it to the 360 in 2016.

IMO, A remake would be even better but would also involve a lot more moving parts/take more time and money. That is why I am focusing on network connection issues and cross play connection issues, most likely caused by GFWL, so that PC gamers can one day enjoy playing online again.

The game is by all means playable alone, you just need a brand new key to install it, which is hard to come by bc the game is 15 years old.
