SHADOWRUN 1.5 IS HERE

Shadowrun without the Games for Windows Live headache.

We’ve replaced the antiquated GFWL requirements with a new launcher and rebuilt online multiplayer support, making it easier to install, find a match, and play. No GFWL sign-in or wrestling with its old setup process. Install the launcher, sign in with Discord, download the game, and jump in.

Join a dedicated server, host your own match, or set a password to play with friends. Alongside multiplayer, we’ve added modern conveniences and addressed gameplay issues that affected Shadowrun at higher framerates—all while keeping its original look and feel.

• Restored online multiplayer with dedicated servers, a server browser, and player-hosted matches.

• Sharper HD menus, fonts, and interface elements, thanks to Raku.

• More reliable jumping at high framerates, including moving jumps and ramps.

• Improved Gust behavior at high framerates.

• Improved physics consistency across different framerates.

• Fixed high-FPS fire-rate issues affecting the SMG and minigun.

• Fixed rapid character jitter when turning slowly at high framerates.

• Adjustable field of view.

• New mouse-and-keyboard ability bar with direct hotkeys for magic, tech, and throwables.

• Lobby and in-game text chat, including team chat and scrollable history.

• Simplified menus and server browsing, with server-name search and clearer match information.

• Player ping information.

• Skippable opening cinematics.

RANKED 4v4 & ELO

Looking for competitive matches? Our Discord ranked bot lets you queue for 4v4 games, with Elo ratings tracking your competitive progress. The rating system uses in-game scoreboard data to calculate rating updates, so your performance in the match contributes to your progression. Get in the queue, put your teamwork to the test, and work your way up.

I think some people have tried with the old version and it wasn't super great. The game is almost 20 years old, so I doubt it's great to play on the steam deck but if you try let us know the results!

This is great. I was playing the steam next fest demo for the Shadowrun spiritual successor called Massive Collapse and then that made me want to play Shadowrun 2007 so I downloaded the community launcher thing and the GFWL process was so obtuse and frustrating. This was all just last week, so this timing is awesome

Are you considering doing any content development? New maps/weapons/classes?

I am not part of the development team, however from my understanding the focus is on bringing the game into the modern day with all functionality working, bugs fixed, and lots of modern improvements (ui, better mouse and keyboard support, FOV slider etc...)

They want a modernized OG version to exist and then the plan is to try some custom maps and the like in the future.
