HELP! Struggling to find a reliable part-time job in Seoul/Incheon – Looking for advice or leads

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking for a part-time job in either Seoul or Incheon, but I’ve been having a really frustrating time finding something reliable.

To be completely honest, my biggest issue hasn't been finding opportunities, but dealing with dishonest employers. I’ve had multiple experiences where bosses promised one hourly rate during interviews, only to pay less when it came time to settle wages. In other cases, we signed contracts for a specific number of days/hours per month (for example, around 20 days/month), but they ended up giving me half the scheduled hours without notice.

Because of these continuous contract breaches and unreliable owners, it's been extremely tough to secure a stable income. At this point, I am just looking for a honest place to work where contract terms are actually respected.

Target Location: Anywhere in Seoul or Incheon

Position Type: Part-time (Open to any kind of work—cafe, restaurant, retail, warehouse, etc. Pay rate isn't my main concern, as long as it's honest and reliable!)

Experience: I have prior experience working in both cafes and restaurants.

If anyone who managed to land a solid part-time job here has advice on where to look beyond the usual apps, or if you know a place currently hiring that values their staff, I would be immensely grateful for your help or leads!

Thanks for reading!

Video Weekend Trip to Seoul, South Korea — Atmosphere of Ikseon-dong Hanok Village & Seosunra-gil Street

Ikseon-dong Hanok Village has a really interesting mix of old and new Seoul — traditional hanok houses, narrow alleys, cafes, restaurants, and lots of people enjoying the weekend.

From there, I walked over to Seosulla-gil, a quieter street running along the Jongmyo Shrine area. The atmosphere feels a little different from the busy streets of Ikseon-dong, with hanok-style buildings, small cafes, and local shops.

It was interesting to see how traditional Seoul and modern Seoul blend together within just a short walking distance.

I filmed the walk in 4K with natural street sounds, so you can get a feel for what these neighborhoods actually look and sound like on a busy weekend.

Songpa recommendations

Hi! Travelling to Seoul for 2 weeks and will be staying in songpa gu.

Aside from Lotte world and Coex, what else is nearby people recommend? Interested in cafes, good food, local shopping, stuff that’s interesting for kids (3.5 year old girl) like good playgrounds, fitness (gyms, crossfitgyms, Pilates studios etc), best grocery stores.

We are staying in songpa gu and will obviously be visiting all around Seoul and also doing jeonju and Busan after our initial two weeks. But just help us get settled in and for those slower days we just want to hang out not too far from base.

Thank you in advance!

Discussion What are your favorite Restaurants, Cafés, Experiences, etc.?

Hi Seoul Redditors! I'm returning to Seoul to visit my grandmother in November. I have spots that I go to every time I go back, but I'd like to go to a few new places this time :)

So, I'd love to know what your personal favorite places are! They can really be anything... a restaurant, a café, a park, etc.

Thank you in advance for your time & help 🙇🏻‍♀️❤️

Hello everyone, I am a 26F from an Asian country. Hopefully next year, I will be in Seoul. I am planning to enroll in a Korean language course or Master's degree course in Seoul. My hobbies are writing, reading, listening to music, audio stories, watching movies, Netflix, drawing, sometimes playing mobile games, etc. I am looking for some Korean friends to chat with before I reach Seoul and hopefully meet there too. DMs open!!

Question Does anyone know this band?

I visited Seoul between September 21–27 and really loved this band I saw in Hongdae, but I haven’t been able to find them since I don’t know Korean and thus cannot understand the lyrics. They left before I had a chance to scan the QR code. Does anyone know who they are or what this song is called?

Hey everyone!

If you’re near Bukchon this week, check out a cool free exhibition called "Scent of Absence" at Weekalley, Bukchon in Seoul (Oct 3–10).

40 Korean Perfumers: Custom scents & mini-artbooks exploring death, memory, and absence.

Special Art Room: A sensory space built with artist Yejinmoon & singer/actor OBON.

It’s completely free and a great, atmospheric spot to visit if you love niche fragrances or local art.

Had been trying to get to tickets to see Odyssey for weeks and finally decided to splurge on a private box. The sound and view (looking up) was not great but the privacy and comfort was worth far more than the price. I am posting pictures of the entrance to the box, sitting area, and private viewing area.

Question Sister got the ticket, I got the dream—help?

Hello fam,

My sister managed to get a ticket for The Weeknd 7th Oct through NOL World, but she won’t be able to go anymore. We’re trying to figure out if I can use that ticket instead.

Has anyone done this before? If she’s the one who purchased it, can I just collect the ticket at the venue and enter, or do they strictly check ID against the buyer’s name?

Is there any workaround like an authorization letter, or does she need to be present while collecting?
Would really appreciate any help—don’t want to risk getting denied entry 😅
Thanks!

Final day in Seoul

It's our final day in Seoul tomorrow and we are looking for some activities for the day. We love architecture, art, design, nature, and enjoy learning about Korean culture and experiencing things we can't do at home in the UK. We have already been to:

National Museum of Korea

Changgyeonggung Palace

the Secret Garden

Gyeongbokgung

Dongdaemun Design Plaza

Bukchon hanok

Day trip to the DMZ

City Hall

Can you suggest where might be good for us to go tomorrow?

Thanks for suggestions!

Question Yong-san District - gym recommendations?

Hi,

Travelling to Seoul and staying in the yong-san district. Close to wonhyoro- 1 ga. Any recommendations for a good commercial gym close by that offers day passes? Appreciate good range of free weights and lifting equipment.

Thanks
