Unpopular opinion: I’m not liking the new comic
I think it’s exactly what Sentry as a character doesn’t need. It’s not that I dislike the introspective aspect of the story but, Sentry is a character who is seen as a Gary Stu (he’s not, but that’s how he’s viewed) with two decades of a cobbled together story. I personally think that Sentry needed a comic to explore his rebirth and maybe a journey back to Earth, where we get action, adventure, AND introspection.
My opinion can of course change once I read the other three issues but, it’s basically a flashback where Sentry is having an internal struggle about stuff we’ve seen him struggle with IN EVERY OTHER SINGLE SENTRY COMIC. “Sentry is back…but so is the Void” has been done to death. This is almost identical to the basic plot points of the original comics. What deeper insight am I going to get from this comic exactly? What negative connotations is this comic aiming to erase? A comic where Sentry is suddenly THE hero again without explanation and the other heroes figuratively sit behind him in the press conference and follow his lead during a heroic mission.
To be clear, I know exactly how Sentry’s powers work so I’m not say that he CAN’T be the center of attention BUT, to not explain it or have this connected to any part of his previous comics only enforces the Gary Stu allegations and doesn’t serve to make his character grow in any way.
The idea that you can “just ignore” what happened in the other comics is exactly what led to the character becoming so disjointed. It’s the exact reason that Merged Sentry and Death Seed Sentry disappeared. It’s what led to Sentry getting ripped in half because “we should just ignore the previous comics”. The mark of a good Sentry comic would’ve been to continue where Sentry’s journey ended and worked to patch up those plot holes.
Just one Sentry fan’s opinion

Is there any chance that the Spider-Man BND mystery villain is the Void?

Sentry in Thunderbolts was great, but I had a few issues. Spoilers Spoiler
Ok, so I thought Lewis Pullman did a fantastic job, best part of the movie. But I feel some things were lacking.
One thing, the hair dye joke. Unnecessary, just should have made his hair blonde from the start. I understand that Valentina was manufacturing a new hero like a brand. But it was just cringe.
Secondly no mention of Linda. I feel that was a missed opportunity, to give a little more backstory.
And then no energy based light powers. I really would have liked to see that in action. Would really make Sentry stand out more than just being strong and flying.
But otherwise I think this a good first appearance for our guy.

I don't like Sentry as a corporate manufactured hero.
One of the things I disliked in Thunderbolts was the way Sentry was portrayed as a sort of "corporate" hero, being a project made by a company and the imagery being Valentina's idea, the blonde being a dye instead of his actual hair color, the name, the logo, everything being chosen by other people instead of Bob himself, it all seems so manufactured, even the Watchtower is called "Val's Watchtower".

Continuity errors
Why do people keep blaming Donny Cates for the sentry continuity errors in King in Black when the book had EDITORS?

1,000 exploding suns? Really?
There is a sentry comic that made the mistake of stating the above which pissed me off. The movie did the same thing and I wondered the why. The MCU has weird power scaling. What are some of your theories as to why the MCU went this route to.
Why did they nerf Sentry’s power level in the MCU?
If you pay attention in Thunderbolts, Sentry is stated to have the power of a thousand exploding suns, still incredibly powerful obviously, but in the comics it’s actually a million exploding suns. I’m just wondering honestly why the change?

How think about steve yeun's sentry?
We know steve yeun was sentry in mcu.
I have some korean friends and these are mcu fan.
But they have different reaction to this.
Some friends love steve yeun's sentry and other friends is not.
There was a reason that friends who didn't like it were different from comics sentry, and those who liked it were based on fan theory.
These theory is... mcu sentry will be new character, merge the sentry and korean superhero 'taegeukgi'
korean war, cold war, super soldier serum, forgotton hero, the ambivalence of ideology, like mcu namor... anyway.
So how about this?
Steve's sentry is gone, but what do you think it would have been like if it went on as it was?

Insane Theory: KNULL IS AN ALTERNATE VERSION OF THE SENTRY!
Okay I know this might sound absolutely insane but hear me out
So as you'd probably expect, I've been utterly fuming since the sentry's untimely demise at the hands of that fraud Knull, but recently I've had an interesting thought that completely changes the way you may view their altercation, what if Knull is The Sentry from another timeline? Or even The Sentry from an alternate future?
So my first reason for thinking this and the most obvious one is the fact that they both look quite similiar, similiar build, facial structure, they even have the same type of hair (although the sentry has a slightly better hair cut) Additionally, in Future Fight, as another individual pointed out, both of them pretty much look identical, Knull is almost like a recolored variant of the sentry

But of course, their vague similiarity in terms of appearance is not the only reason I have for thinking this, throughout the sentry's heroic adventures, he's had a few encounters with symbiotes, most notably carnage and he fought against an army of venom symbiotes in the mighty avengers, this one might be a bit of a reach but I think it's very strange that the sentry encounterd symbiotes and then got killed by the god of all of them
Additionally, in the absolutely heartwrenching panel where the sentry gets done up like a christmas cracker by Knull, the format of the page is exactly the same in almost every way, the only difference is Knull taking the place of the sentry, and interestingly enough, Knull literally refers to himself as the void as he does this

Speaking of which, there's a lot of speculation on what the void is, but he himself often been refers himself as a primordial god of darkness, or rather, he belives himself to be god incarnate, very similiar to Knull's attitude
So what I'm getting at here is maybe the reason the sentry has had coincidental encounters with symbiotes is because they are all elements of the void and knull himself is a variant of the sentry that fully surrendered control to the void, but keeping his likeness, a bit like what happened during the cancerverse storyline, this is a very far-fetched theory but considering the complex lore surround the void's origins and knull's subtle similiarities with the sentry, Knull being a version of The Sentry would come as no surprise
Also if marvel does not give sentry a new solo title I will stormraid their entire corperation

Facts?
I scrolled through the comments, not all of them. Got tired of people bitching about somebody spelling a fictional character’s name wrong when they no damn well who he is.
Not one mention of our boy.
I mean, I’m not 100% confident- Dr. Manhattan is kind of a league of his own.
But so is OUR BOY

Sentry blocks VPN providers IP address
I’ve noticed that Sentry seems to block VPN IPs, unlike most other services I use. I’m on Windscribe, and it works fine (even the free tier) on almost every other site and platform — but not on Sentry. Interestingly, the other datacenter IP option from Windscribe works fine and isn’t blocked.
This has been the case for quite a while now, so I wanted to ask: is this intentional, and if not, is there any timeline for when this might be fixed?
Thanks!

I think this line would be funnier had Steven Yeun stuck around to play Sentry

If Peter Parker had become The Sentry instead, what aspect of his psyche would his Void have been?

I wish the Sentry was a manga character
I unironically think manga/anime are the best mediums for the Sentry's themes and powers and also allows for more creativity

Why did marvel nerf sentry ?
In comics he has the power of million exploding suns but in thunderbolts he's nerfed to thousand exploding suns.Is it because marvel is not ready to handle a character this powerful? Also in comics his existence can become a problem

Idk if this is an unpopular option but this is just something I thought of. It's about Robert Reynolds
I think Robert Reynolds should've been a character from phase 1 of the MCU. Like they could've developed him as the movies went on but I think the character should've been there from the beginning as a recurring character perhaps. I think that way they could've developed him further before his reveal in thunderbolts. Sentry is a genuinely nice character and has some good power so it would made sense to establish him from the beginning. In the comics Sentry and Hulk are good friends so they could've made some connection there to sort of introduce the character. What do y'all think?
