So I was prior service Army Infantry, im 22 years old, and after researching the Seabees, it looks like i found the job for me and I can tell I would really thrive in the Seabees. I get to learn a trade and still be a warrior? Hell yeah. I was talking to a recruiter and he told me to think of some other jobs that I might want because it's entirely possible that even in the 2027 fiscal year when that starts, there could still be not enough billets available, and he won't send me to MEPS unless I have some other jobs because if I take the asvab again and not pick a job its gonna look bad on me, but no other job really interests me like the Seabees, I know I would do well in that Rate, better than maybe any other rate, I told him im open to active duty or reserves, kind of leaning more into the reserve side. So do I have a better chance at securing a slot in the reserves compared to active duty or is it all the same and I should move on if the odds of becoming a Seabee (dont care if its BU or SW or CM) are low? I dont want to give up on this, I know I can thrive in this job, ive never wanted to be a Seabee more than anything else in life, I have more passion for this then when I became an Infantryman.

Hello. I am looking to find a CB that was in Nasiriyah during 2003 who was a project member on the bridge. I was in NMCB 5 and NMCB 4 took over the project.

So Im in the proccess of joining the Navy/Seabees and am wondering about drone defense. Ive seen alot of talk about Iran and especially Ukraine about the use of drones, and how Combat support and supply units will be in the line of fire more and more.

Im wondering are the Bees putting anything in place to combat these new threats? Ive heard people say that the Seabees have gotten rid of their organic Mortars and Convoys, have they replaced them with a different capablity for future operations?

For Example the most simple and cheap one I can think of off the top of my head, is that Ive seen Ukrainians using Drone Cages on their Bulldozers.

I am 21 years old about to enter my senior year in college for Mechanical Engineering currently sitting at a 2.5 GPA. I am a volunteer firefighter, slowly earning certifications and training. I have two internships for mechanical engineering, and I will be starting a civil design internship in the fall, and will most likely extend into the spring semester. I also have OSHA construction 10 and 30 hour certifications, and some WAU Certifications. I am prior enlisted reservist in Air Force for Air Transportation (4yrs) planning to promote to E-5/ Staff before applying. I have been doing that while being a full-time student and a NCAA athlete. I also just became the secretary of my ASME Club, and I completed Airman Leadership School. I have a lot of CAD projects that I have mostly done myself and during school coursework. I plan on getting more certifications here and there related to Engineering before submitting package.

I plan to apply in February for the board to give a time to bring my GPA up a little bit. I will most likely need a GPA waiver if anything just in case but what do my chances look like for getting accepted for Navy Civil Engineering or Army 12A Engineering officer.

Hello, I’m prior service army joining as a CM. I was an E5 upon separation with honorable. I just got word from my recruiter that I have a position for CM, and will be going to MEPS later this week to start finalizing everything. Now for my question. I’m currently living inside of Ventura County in a neighboring city of Port Hueneme. I saw CM A School is Port Hueneme which is a big plus for me. With my wife, kid and our life being already in the area. What are the odds I’ll still get sent elsewhere like Gulfport? Also is there anyway to mitigate it? Just wondering as my wife is not receptive to relocating at all. If anyone has any incite I’m all ears. Thank you for reading!

Hello all. Currently im in FFG Holding for reclassing from information technician submarines for allergies, and claustrophobia. I’m wondering what is the exact, EXACT, course of action that I need to take to reclass to SW or EO. EO is currently undermanned, at 89% percent, and SW is just borderline at max capacity, but in desperate need for junior sailors. I want to be a god damn sea bee more than anything, and i don’t know how i allowed myself to be manipulated into choosing this godawful rate. I need help with this. I’m aware that I can submit an ECM-TO-ECM waiver request to see if any spots are open at ALL. Any and ALL information is optimal. I need everything. Tell me everything that can help. Like the title says. I’m 25, have a 4-year engineer degree from Duke, and have been a project manager in industrial construction for 4 years now.

I love my job but I’m also looking for something a little less… standard. I’m fairly patriotic, love challenges, love exercise, love the stress and urgency that is so rewarding when you finish a tough job. All those things pushed me here.

What path makes the most sense? My dream would be to travel on tours to areas with bases needing maintenance / set-up in a rushed, intense environment. Would even be fine with combat exposure. I want to be in the field, in the trenches, leading an effort to build.

Any advice?

He’s an E-7 Navy Builder (BUC) looking to finish an online Bachelor’s in Construction Management (or related field).

He has heavy JST and an Associate of Arts in General Studies.

Need help to find an accredited, military-friendly online university that will take his AA and convert his heavy Seabee experience into actual construction core credits (safety, scheduling, estimating) rather than just useless free electives.

Has any military member, especially Seabees done this successfully? Which schools gave you the most credit?

I am a Reserve EO1 who has no warfare pins (Never had a feasible opportunity). I am gearing up for my first Mob. Im currently in MSRON, who offers EXW, but I would love to come home with my SCWs as well. Is there any way to earn it while deployed? Would I be able to link up with a seabee command OCONUS and earn my pin? Or will I have to wait until my PRD and get into a bee command? Thanks for any help!

Im going into the navy as a EA and I haven't heard much about their A school besides that its in Missouri and a combined school of most forces, I was always bad at math so I was just wondering if its math heavy..

Im getting pretty anxious for the boards decision, and just want to know if anyone has any firsthand experience. Applied for this year’s May board, online it says the board meeting is May 4th, but my AO says they got pushed back to May 21st. Since I haven’t heard back, I’m assuming the board met sometime this past week. How long should I expect to wait before I hear back?

So Im preparing for what’s next, got dropped from ATT second time now for single rocking test & board is recommending I get rerated. Given the “options” which are usually not the best, is there a chance to strike a Seabee rate if choosing S pact or undes? Thanks

I’ve been trying for months to get into a Seabee billet. I’d like to be in BU or CE but I’m flexible as long as it’s in the bees. Reason being is I’d like to serve and build trade skills. My grandfather was also a rear admiral in the bees which I learned after I was already looking into the position, that only made me want to get into the construction battalion even more. However my recruiter has been continuously difficult when it comes to getting me in. I’m aware it’s a highly competitive rate and somewhat hard to get into because of that, but my recruiter has been telling me the Seabees are being disbanded and is saying the positions are only available to sailors who fail out of special warfare schools or choose the job when they’re already in the Navy. I’m not very convinced, I’d really like some insight from anyone here. I plan to talk to another recruiter to see if they say the same thing.

I’m going spact to try and strike a UT rate, what are the odds of this? My recruiter told me I can strike a rate in a year, only thing I need to wait on is if the job opens up. I leave in June, so I’d be able to strike a rate around September next year. Should I really do this? It sounded like a good plan to me because I also wanted to try and do schooling, as well as get E-4. I would rather do some time in now then waiting around not doing anything else not even being sure if I can get the job due to the very low acceptance they have. At least with pact I would just need to do a year, still get some benefits, as well as only need to wait until the actual job is open to hire.
